I've had my SGS Brushcutter 3 years . Great value for money . Beast of a Machine that has not let me down and with the Oregon Blade on works a treat at clearing thick Brambles ..
I recently tried the brushcutter sgs blade on tough grass on the roqdside verge. It really lowers the vibrations compared to the string and oregon blade. Great bit of kit though.
I use one on my Titan 52cc. Agree with everything you say. Tried the generic flat blades but the Oregon one is a game changer. I see now the price has gone up (May 24) but Stihl now make a very similar blade.
@@fiveminuteman it was a good day 😎...only thing was the washer that came with the mulcher is looking a bit worse for wear. There was a wall buried under everything and came in contact. The blade's fine but noticed it got loose on the spigot and seems to have grinded the washer down that fits inside the blade. Had a good result today no less.
wasn't sure if it could be used on gorse but that's good to know. So much of our land has rewilded between gorse and brambles and I didn't want to burn any in case of wild habitats.
@@aaronboggs9719 yeah up to branches about an inch thick it will easily but be sure wear a full face gaurd not just glasses, it will throw chunks with force!!
@@hollowpoint8800 lovely. I can't wait to get stuck in. Of course as I go to start, it pisses down with rain. Such is the nature of the beast that is the west of Ireland. 😂... if you didn't laugh you'd cry.
I bought the two bladed version of Oregon mulcher blade a few months back, and only got the chance to try it out a few days ago, using a Stihl FS91 four stroke trimmer. Wow! What a great tool for the thick brush! Before using it, I used the stock three bladed Stihl blade, and while it cut brush and smallest saplings fairly well, it left debris that then got in the way of advancing the blade into another swath. I also use a Renegade circular saw type blade for trees and heavier brush, and it, too, has its place. But the Oregon blade is my go to in the thick vine type brush, with occasional sapling. It has the rotating mass to swing through the thick.
A pole hedge trimmer works really well on brambles too. Like a knife through butter, very low vibration. Good fun. Can't mulch it down as much as the blade though.
I own a stihl fs 96 plus an fs 90 and one of these sgs trimmers which I must admit it out performs my stihls everytime.granted a bigger displacement but nothing stands in its way.am sure it's a hyundai just rebadged sgs.
There's also a 3 blade version of the Oregon mulcher blade on Amazon. I don't know which one to get... this would be my first ever petrol strimmer job in a new property.
@@fiveminuteman Thanks. I think that maybe the 3 blade might be too heavy for smaller engine strimmers... although they do a 3mm and 4mm thick one, so the 3mm 3-blade could be as light as a 4mm 2-blade. It's all new to me, but thanks for an inspiring video!
The best tool for destroying plastic buckets, watering cans, footballs and for sending tennis ball 100yds at supersonic speed. Oh, brilliant for brambles and bushes.
Your right in blipping the throttle. There is no point in keeping the revs at max. That knackers you and the machine. That SDS brushcutter is good value for your money.

I use one on my 535LK and it's fantastic! The tri blade vibrates a bit but on a pro brushcutter it will probably be unstoppable! Worth every penny.

They are superb
This blade is a beast. Using it for 2 years. It made my live much easier. Sharpening the blade helps a lot.
I'll give mine a sharpen before i have another go on the brambles.👍
@@fiveminuteman what kind of sharpening stone do you use? I have whetted stones that are used forna scythe, would that be any good?
@@aaronboggs9719 yer they work fine or chuck it in a vice and use an angle grinder😀

Think you're right on performance and rebadging.
I put one of these on the end of my DeWalt 54 volt it became a weapon of mass destruction absolutely brilliant
It amazed me.
My blade just arrived a couple of days ago. Today is D-day for the brambles.
It's great fun smashing them to bits with that mulcher blade😉
@@fiveminuteman is there a way of fitting it without the concave cap on top? Goblins may have nicked mine.

I've got one of the SGS strimmer. It doesn't spin until at least half throttle and full throttle feels like it could be a bit faster. Any ideas?
Sounds like the clutch not engaging properly, contact SGS
Are the SGS & the Hyundai 5200 similar machines 🤔
Someone was stating that recently.

It was my first experience of using one and i was amazed.
Is the blade that much better than a tri blade?
On brambles and saplings it's a gamechanger. Get one off Amazon.
Have you heard of a duropro brush cutter
Nope
