At least for me, 99% of what you do on these boards are well above my head. I subbed to you due to one of your many great videos with a solid perspective on the topic. You have a great way of processing information and relaying those thoughts to us. All UA-cam Channels start some place and then end up being something else. Roll with what works!

I think it's good you're mixing it up with the content you're providing. I've seen so many videos of YT'ers going through a burnout phase. Even my son went through that (at age 11) and totally stopped YTing altogether, which is something he truly loved to do. He got out of it for about a year and now he's back into it. Even for him, it was that same issue of too much of the same thing over and over. I actually mentioned this to him at the time, but you know kids. Now he does videos on different things.

@10:08 I almost crapped my pants from laughter:
"Perhaps it spoke to the battery, and the battery said:
    - Yo momma so ugly that she writes ISL6259 in her schematic, even when it uses an ISL9239!
    And then the ISL9239 said:
    - Well fuck you I ain't charging you!"
That's another reason why I love your board repair videos. Louis, if you don't enjoy making these videos anymore, you should not force it - but if later you will feel like doing some more again, do not hesitate please! There is market for these type of contents, too. :)
Keep up the great work, and be safe in these crazy times!

I've been doing diagnostics & repair in a number of fields for over 50 yrs.
1st ask the customers what symptoms the device has / what does not work .
    Some history .
The last thing , never let the customer , or another shop direct / diagnose what is possible .
Those 2 sources can be a conversation --- after the diagnostics , or when the estimate is given .

really alot of the people subbed ... dont care that much (even if they have their favorite type of video from you) ... I like the "ride around the city/current events 'louis's two cents' videos" ... and of course the board repair videos too.
I say make the videos YOU want to make ... if that means a break from (or at least as many) board repair videos .. so be it.
Again like always .. thank you for everything you do to help teach us and advance "right to repair"

You do you! I love all of your content and it's always nice to see someone with more careful hands than myself repairing boards. You're commentary and fight for right to repair has always had a forefront in my mind but in the end, don't burn yourself out, please take the time you need or do what you wish. I just hope its good

The customer can be a great asset when diagnosing something (be it a car or a computer in this case). However, in my experience troubleshooting certain issues you can't trust the note (or comment) someone gave you on what has been done in the past.
You don't know who worked on the problem you're trying to troubleshoot. Most of the time when I get these notes I deal with them in a similar way. Read them, but question its validity very carefully. These things have thrown me off a couple of times and afterwards I thought I should've went with my gut feeling.
Always follow your own diag plan.

I watch for your comments, not repair information on a product I refuse to support.
Because of you I have mustered up the courage to fix my own screens and batteries on my mobile phones.
It's nothing compared to your skill set but you are an inspiration for many.
Btw our government don't give 2 fucks about koalas. #koalakiller

Okay, I'm a couple of days late here, but I understand that you're feeling that way Louis, regarding not finding it fun any more.
You need to start repairing Microsoft Surface units.
Good luck with what ever new things you decide to stream about, if you ever keep with that.

My brain just made a shirt idea where you see a Koala trying to climb a smooth wall with a tree drawn onto it.
Sadly i absolutely suck at translating fought to paper and i wonder if its just me or my autism that is causing that divide.
    Thanks for the video though!

Yeah I find it annoying when someone tells me that they tried a these things prior then you spend an excessive amount of time trying figure out the issue only to find out that it is actually the thing that supposedly tried before.
I've also worked with lazy co-workers who will half ass their work and give said product to the customer only for them to come back repeatedly and I end up finishing up what they "forgetten" to do which was other 60 percent they were suppose to do.

I already saw what is causing the issue from the thumbnail: It's a Macbook.
The fix is to get a cheaper but better Windows 10 laptop which has capacity for upgrades to give it some extended life. And if it breaks down at some point, you can actually have it repaired.
