You could sense that yolk being fried when you pieced the wombo combo together, but to be fair that was a lot of stuff to consider each turn. Also good runic dome pick. It fit your deck perfectly and you didn't let your general aversion towards that relic influence whether to take it or not.
In case anyone is wondering, it is entirely possible (if you're extremely lucky like I once was) to build a deck consisting of Unceasing Top and 4 Clash+. Easiest win I ever had.
Could be worse... I mean its not like theres a cost 2 card that does exactly the same thing but also applies weak and deals more damage.... - cough - Uppercut - cough - Sorry dry throat...
It gets the relic designed for its play mechanic. Ironclad uses life sacrifice, so needs life gain. Survivor uses defense, so has starting turn card draw to guarantee 3 block first turn, since its turn one that enemies are usesly in sync in their attack cycles and they all tend to attack en mass round 1. Bash is just flat out terrible because its terrible.
True grit lets you exhaust strikes and defends from your hand shrinking your deck. Upgrade it so you can select what to exhaust. Imagine a limit break deck.. that keeps shrinking until you get limit break every 1 or 2 turns.
SOUTHERN FELINE an upgraded True Grit is actually pretty powerful, though it is understandable that it initially seems bad. When you upgrade it, instead of exhausting a random card it lets you choose which card to exhaust and is actually a pretty good card for defensive and exhaust themed decks.
That was incredibly fun to watch. Silent might be stronger than Ironclad overall, but goddamn if these runs aren't infinitely more fun (at least for me).
Really thought he would be trying to go for an exhaust deck. I wish NL had tighter tolerances when it came to adding cards to his deck. He just picks cards on the first floor non-stop and it's DRIVING ME UP THE WALL
My only complaint is that he should have used seeing red and blood letting in synergy with whirlwind, however this was my favorite video so far! Great job ryegg
Exhaust as a mechanic is actually pretty powerful, especially on longer fights, because it thins your deck without you having to actually have a thin deck. True Grit kinda sucks, honestly, until it's upgraded, but once it's upgraded you can choose which card to exhaust at which point you get I think 10 block as well. For one energy, that's a pretty great deal to get rid of a defend/strike/curse/status, enable exhaust synergies like Feel No Pain or Dead Branch, and protect yourself from more damage than most other defensive cards.
21:08 Egg really threw me for a loop there. For a second I almost thought he was going to make a good play and remember unceasing top. AND HE DID! But no. NL somehow fucked it up regardless. Thank you egg.
Snecko eye as a starting item is amazing, just get all heavy hitting cards and combos like doubletap, won the 2 runs i got it as my start, frankly super easy. Sneko eyes is a lot trickier if you get it later, getting it early and building after it is crasy good
Also dude how do you acquire so many damn relics? Even on the runs I win I seem to get maybe half the screen filled and that's with actively searching them out and making most sacrifices to get them.
Jesus christ ive never seen anybody get soo many relics in 1 run... Wait what!? How the fuck did Austin get a 17 minute run!? HOW IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE TO BEAT THE GAME THAT FAST!?
I see what Egg is trying to do in this run, but clash is more of a secondary thought as long as you burn your hand efficiently. I think he'd be better handling a rampage deck instead, especially since he values headbutt so much.
Does NL know how whirlwind works? I'm actually so lost; Why is the egg using single strikes to kill single enemies on turns where he has 5 energy and a whirlwind ;-;
You could sense that yolk being fried when you pieced the wombo combo together, but to be fair that was a lot of stuff to consider each turn. Also good runic dome pick. It fit your deck perfectly and you didn't let your general aversion towards that relic influence whether to take it or not.
THE FIRST TURN AGAINST THE GIANT HEAD THO
HE'S BEGINNING TO BELIEVE
It actually brought a tear to my eye, it was so beautiful.
My Egg is all grown up :')
"mmmmm pretty good first turn"
As it turns out, he actually could have gotten a true OTK if he used his block potion before Body Slam
Big oof
In case anyone is wondering, it is entirely possible (if you're extremely lucky like I once was) to build a deck consisting of Unceasing Top and 4 Clash+. Easiest win I ever had.
*Puts strike on top of draw pile*
Northernlion: "Good draws, Good draws"
Owen Watts when he did that I immediately went into the comment section to see if anyone else noticed that
Look away. Come back. Giant head at TWENTY FOUR HP.
"Yeah that was a pretty good ***first turn*** !"
What a satisfying run to watch. Seeing those enemies get wrecked by huge combos is so nice.
Make bash worse and cost 1 you say? If only there were some sort of 1 cost card that can do damage and apply vulnerable to all enemies.
That sounds amazing, why don't these lazy devs implement such a card?
Oirad16 but Thunderclap isn't part of the Ironclad's basic deck, unlike Bash...
Could be worse... I mean its not like theres a cost 2 card that does exactly the same thing but also applies weak and deals more damage.... - cough - Uppercut - cough - Sorry dry throat...
Bash has to be worse than Survivor/Neutralize because Ironclad gets better starting Relic. #justbalancethings
You Won the last run as the silent tho
HE actually did it, he made a good deck.
Wow. He is not without his faults but this time I'm proud of C L A S H D E C K E D D A D D Y
True grit lets you exhaust strikes and defends from your hand shrinking your deck. Upgrade it so you can select what to exhaust. Imagine a limit break deck.. that keeps shrinking until you get limit break every 1 or 2 turns.
also let's you exhaust wounds, burns or curses, it's pretty useful
Crazy how it is his favorite card now
SOUTHERN FELINE an upgraded True Grit is actually pretty powerful, though it is understandable that it initially seems bad. When you upgrade it, instead of exhausting a random card it lets you choose which card to exhaust and is actually a pretty good card for defensive and exhaust themed decks.
Eggboy made me lose my shit when he called combust trash when he had rupture but he’s subverted my expectations
39:15 This was actually incredible.
Those fights against Giant (Bald) Heads were hilarious.
Gotta say this was the best episode to date
26:44 "no reason to play it"- other than you'll draw another card which could be a clash
Campbell Mclay-kidd every time he decides not to play his last card i feel physical pain.
That was incredibly fun to watch. Silent might be stronger than Ironclad overall, but goddamn if these runs aren't infinitely more fun (at least for me).
UGH can't believe NL said "10/10 run" at 53:10. This was clearly a 12/10 run!
Another vid of my favourite racer
C L E A V E D E C K D A D D Y
I personally prefer Speed Racer
He finally did it! He became the believer of T H E W H I R L W I N D
SPIN TO WIN
This run was so fun gg NL I loved the whirly finish
That was actually amazing.
this is the type of run where I guaranteed will run into the time dude at the end of it
12:34 two chests on two ? spots is actual VAC
this is the greatest episode of all time
Really thought he would be trying to go for an exhaust deck. I wish NL had tighter tolerances when it came to adding cards to his deck. He just picks cards on the first floor non-stop and it's DRIVING ME UP THE WALL
This is a game I thought I wasn't going to get into. Turns out I was very wrong. I f'n love this formula.
That play that ended at 40:43 holy shit I just came.
0:07 - it was also below-adequate, less than acceptable, opposite of great, unsavoury, and a total abomination too, don't forget....
I have a joke for the egg and I think you'll like It. How do you catch a bra? You set a booby trap.
I'm fucking hilarious.
its taim TO STOP
Hey can someon link a vid of Austins 17min run? I don't know his channel name so..
That giant head fight was epic
One of the most dominating runs I've ever seen. Keep it up thindeccdaddy
I had whirlwind that deal 8 to all enemies damage for every energy u have, but man let's spend my energy in strikes that deal 6 damages to one
That was because he wanted to draw a clash.
Daniel Olsen that's doesn't make sense strikes doesn't make u draw
Oh i undersdood what u meant in a second moment
he acually explains why he does that when he does it....he wanted to draw clashes afterwards!
50 minutes in to the run "We're in pseudo speed-run territory here" .... x.X
well at the start it took him 3 30-40 minutes episodes for a complete run so this IS a speedrun... for him...
52:59 the unholy 285 damage attack
Def could've gotten to an elite on the first floor at 1 HP; first combat, veer to shop, 2nd combat, 2 ??s, then the elite
Cleave is not nearly as essential as you think.
Pen Nib Whirlwind! Say it with me folks! Pen Nib, Whirlwind!
he has actually ascended
Have you tried using thunderclap? in a sense thats a slightly worse bash that enables burst opportunity.
I'm gonna hitcha, I'm gonna Hitcha aaaaand I'm gonna Hitcha :)
That bald head fight tho 👏😹👌👌👏
The clashes never end
"Theres no reason to play Double Tap, since it our only card in hand"
says Egg with Unceasing top and like 3 Clashes in his Draw pile
My only complaint is that he should have used seeing red and blood letting in synergy with whirlwind, however this was my favorite video so far! Great job ryegg
Step 1 - Remove Exhume. Step 2 Take Infernal Blade.
Pattern exume is worthless whiteout infernal blade and an ok card w/ it, I.B. is a great card even whiteout exume
NL wyd, True Grit is a fantastic card... If it's upgraded
BTW, Unceasing Top + Anger/any other free attack is basically infinite damage.
The Wall please sell me on true grit. I never use it.
31:00
"Get NoScoped"
NL you're the best
WTF 480+ DMG on the first turn? He has ascended. :D
30:31 He externalised my internal Slay The Spire dialogue.
You losed as the silent last time? Did I miss an episode?
I wonder if eggscum learned that Whirwind > all the cleaves?
I wonder whats worse. NL not using Top sometimes or NL getting extra energy and forgetting it.
Exhume into dazed, new meta.
21:08 Egg really threw me for a loop there. For a second I almost thought he was going to make a good play and remember unceasing top. AND HE DID! But no. NL somehow fucked it up regardless. Thank you egg.
ya... lets no play blood letting get energy and draw a card.... then play that card and draw ect ect..
Run and commentary made me smile like an idiot
This run was god tier
Snecko Eye as the starting relic is almost always an automatic win. Just take all the cards that cost 2 or more.
At 21:00 he decides not to play Bloodletting even though it'll give him another card draw with 3 energy to spend because of Unceasing Top.
This is the greatest run so far
Holy shit guys. He just learned about a synergy all on his own. Combust + Rupture. HE'S DONE IT.
53:30 he already had ghostly armor in a previous episode right?
it didn't used to be unlocked, just a card if I remember right
this guy says he has pen nib then uses a dumb attack everytime
Well done Mr. Egg, this time you did build your deck quite adequately
Snecko eye as a starting item is amazing, just get all heavy hitting cards and combos like doubletap, won the 2 runs i got it as my start, frankly super easy.
Sneko eyes is a lot trickier if you get it later, getting it early and building after it is crasy good
lol can't wait until somebody takes that advice and die on the second combat because all the strikes cost 3.
Sneko eye is good only when u have a hevy cost deck and a lot of energy, u've only been lucky
True grit is amazing, you just have to exhaust it. It allows you to become a thinn deck daddy the longer the fight goes on.
That fight against the Nemesis was misplayed so hard it physically hurt.
What is that relic gain floor 1
Great run! Enjoyed watching it a lot!
you should really do a wound deck egg. wild strike plus evolve + is very very good if you have enough energy
Northernlion actually played well , i'm amazed
Seymour 45:05
Who is "austin" with a 17 minute run and where can i find it? Anybody know?
That combo man was so cool, it just kept coming and coming and coming. AWESOME!! Loved this run. It would be great if you could replicate it.
Also dude how do you acquire so many damn relics? Even on the runs I win I seem to get maybe half the screen filled and that's with actively searching them out and making most sacrifices to get them.
HitchensImmortal Do you go for elites? Also keep in mind he had black star for this run.
Jesus christ ive never seen anybody get soo many relics in 1 run... Wait what!? How the fuck did Austin get a 17 minute run!? HOW IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE TO BEAT THE GAME THAT FAST!?
LET'S... ACTUALLY... GO
OMG How is the egg so goddam lucky. In act 1 he found 2 consecutive chest on the ? rooms.
It was a great run, much better if you removed bash and any card that cost energy tho.
now *THIS* was fun to watch!
31:00 In NLs head: Shit I fucked up! Quick distract them with a meme!
Thank you for finally realizing the value of body slam
31:10 should have 3 energy whirlwinded
LET’S GO
omg nl you´re killing me with those whirlwinds
on what update is he playing? ?? why no assention
I see what Egg is trying to do in this run, but clash is more of a secondary thought as long as you burn your hand efficiently. I think he'd be better handling a rampage deck instead, especially since he values headbutt so much.
Does NL know how whirlwind works? I'm actually so lost; Why is the egg using single strikes to kill single enemies on turns where he has 5 energy and a whirlwind ;-;
it was because he had the spinning top. yes he was sacrificing one or two 7 damage hits but he could keep on cycling through his clash-filled deck
In what world do you dump true grit over a basic defend? Especially when you already have exhume 🤷🏽♂️
I love how NL will have a terrible misplay and not notice and then have a dope synergistic play and think he did it wrong
THE DISRESPECT OF WHIRLWIND GIVES ME ANXIETY
Holy shit that Giant Head fight
Swear you won last run......
IT FINALLY HAPPENED. THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO YOUR VIEWERS.
Omg.. that deck was sick af!!
That was an impressive run.
What a beautiful run
Great run great plays let go
"We died as the Silent last time" umm egg u blind?
yeah i had to check the numbers, he won that last run but thought he lost?
