  • My goals in this series are to 1) stay even or ahead of my opponents on the clock, and 2) trust my decision-making. Follow along as I try to avoid perfectionist tendencies and apply pressure with the ultimate equalizer in competitive chess: the clock! #Chess #BlitzChess #clockasaweapon

Man this is nerve wracking waiting for the mouseslip. Every move I'm willing you to keep it steady!

You also gotta love those extremely rare times you mouse slip and accidentally make a better move than your original idea.

I don't always mouseslip... but when I do, it's essentially the worst move I could make. 😒😒

Nice work, John. Definitely more attentiveness to the clock in this one. Now the key might be when playing "real games" (like TT) to keep the same mentality, even against stronger players in more formal situations.

I love all your videos but using the clock as a weapon and your bullet videos are just the best. It’s how I found your channel like 5 years ago or so.

I'm sitting here like... yep, in the bag with those rooks, then... Mouse slip!! Doh! Stunning your opponent, and thus sealing the game!! Rofl. Thanks, John!

Those games were amazing, we had swindles, tactical fireworks and crazy sacrifices. What more can you wish for? 😊

That nacer player turned the god mode on in some of the games, especially in the 2nd game. That was super gm level. And the final NM player turned the mikhail tal mode on but it didn't work out well for him. Thanks for these speed chess videos, sir. I'm a long time follower. I hope you will make bullet and 3 min blitz videos more often as they are my favorite, thanks again dear John.

    I think at 8. QxD8
    RxD8
NE5 would have given White a positional edge with a central knight rather than 8. BE3

    Black RxD7
    White NxB6
    Black QB8
    White NxD7
    Not work?

  • @stvia

22:46 dont you have a8 check forcing queen d8 followed by queen a4 check winning the rook

Nice one! But I think Black has Qh8+ Kd7 Qxb8 Qxa2, miraculously, threatening a mate on a1 that is difficult to stop. Maybe the line continues with Rxd6+ with some sort of perpetual, but tough to say without popping open an analysis board.
