The second I see your name on my notification bar I stop everything that I am doing ( pretending that I am debugging something😅) and watch your video! I really enjoy your videos. keep up the good work!
Nice vid as always. I recently landed a position as a design engineer and at the end of the technical part of the interview they said they were going to throw me a curveball with a brain teaser. They asked me the water jug riddle from Die Hard. I had never come across it before, and stumbling to the solution I was sure I was no longer a candidate. I think what helped me in the end was bouncing ideas off the interviewers. Overall it was a great experience! Keep up the good work man!
One important detail is left out, that each prisoner is told the result of their coin flip before they guess. Without that detail, it is not possible to solve.
We know nearly %99 of us are never gonna be able to get a job at Microsoft but continuing to watching your videos for a reason that I dunno. Lol good on you.
this explanation is flawed. because p1 and p2 are guessing. it's hard to explain over text but it doesn't work, You're assuming p1 can guess, but he won't know if he gets it right. if his initial guess is wrong. then p2 is at a 50/50 chance. if you get what I mean. in scenarios 1 and 2 p1 guesses head first. in scenarios 3 and 4 he guesses tails first. you see the problem. what if he guesses like heads first but the flips come out tails? then p2 is at a 50/50 chance
I had to watch this twice to understand lool, It's really interesting how this problem even has a solution. I gave up immediately when I thought there was no soln. sadge...
Thank you bhaiyya, I just graduated from high school, gonna go to a college and study CSE! Your videos will definitely help me towards my goals.. Also, please make a video on the other question, if both of em had to be right..
Your story telling is always amazing. From the problem, I thought I wasn't going to get it then I thought it over and probability came into mind. Logical think sure is important. Awesome video
I used brain teasers all the time because the candidate cannot plan or be coached for it. I usually thought of something on the fly, often there was no correct answer. Plenty of my candidates just clammed up and went dumb. They didn't even try.
I practice coding 4 hours everyday , but I barely learn to make a basic tiktok game in python . Sometimes it's feels like pointless but when those feelings comes , I watch your video to get motivated .
I still can't understand why : if 1 prisoner chooses tails and the other was chooses right ( since even if one of them gets it right they live) both will live right ?
thank you brother just found your channel today even tho i have seen you on recommended and never really bothered pressed today i decided to and im thankfull your channel contains nothing but value kudos to you
What I came up with is : P1 tells P2 to say 'heads' today and P1 will say 'tails' and next day they will flip their guesses. So, P1 now will guess 'heads' and P2 will guess 'tails' and next day guesses will flip again and so on ......
i paused the video at 2:35 to tell you my guess, i would say they both choose tails since the head on a coin is slightly heavier meaning there are a higher percentage of tails coming up. i will edit this comment after i watched through the video edit: okay the explanation was super clear and i totally get it, my guess was not even close, mine is still like a 60% if we calculate the weight differentials, but his method is a 100% survival.

int tempVal, place = 0; for (int i = 0;i < nums.length;i++) { tempVal = nums[place]; nums[place] = nums[(place - k) % nums.length]; place = (place + k) % nums.length; } works only when k and nums.length are relatively prime.
Hi, in one of your videos you mentioned devpost and hackathons, could you please tell me more about them ? In schools in Italy nobody knows much about it and on the internet I am finding confusing information. I love your videos and your contents 👍😃
@@namanhkapur the answer was unexpected that they could live for ever but it was also easy to solve and I think when both have to be correct there is no statrgy to live for ever but you can do better than random luck so guess either the same coin as you got every time or the opposite coin as you got every time
I'm from Hyderabad and a BSc graduate fresher. Can u suggest me a remote jobs, that we can do from here😊. I want to work in good companies of san francisco either they may be start-up's or mnc. But, need to do bcse, as of know it is important to me. It would be Great and very helpful to guys like me, if u have reacted to this. Hope, u will see this and thanks 😊.

woah that’s a cool riddle!
Soon gonna hit 100k bro. You're killing it 🔥.
thanks for always supporting

hopefully that was implied since the warden goes to each prisoner and flips the coin in front of them
Yes, it was an important detail
And one day the warden gets annoyed and throws the coin away and does what he likes
Great video, really understood your logical thinking skills, 100k Subs soon !!
thanks for watching!
Brain- teaser part was amazing ☺️
glad you enjoyed it!
I'm trying to get a job at Microsoft as a Software Engineer but I'm terrified of the technical interviews. I'm a fresh MSc graduate.
you just convinced me to take the game theory course bro
that course is awesome

appreciate the support!
@@namanhkapur you should not always ask for support rather than support these guys to get the job
You're really good at explaining stuff tbh, if you ever get time you should start teaching how to code on your YT channel tbh.
thanks for supporting as always!

int tempVal, place = 0;
for (int i = 0;i < nums.length;i++) {
tempVal = nums[place];
nums[place] = nums[(place - k) % nums.length];
place = (place + k) % nums.length;
} works only when k and nums.length are relatively prime.
Can anyone please answer the 2nd question?
If they always guessed right that would eliminate the need for guessing. I thought it was implied that they had to guess before they flipped.
they can guess after their coin is flipped, but remember they are trying to guess the other prisoner’s flip

Well yeah writing stuffs really helps
indeed
If one prisioner guesses what they flip and only one needs to guess then it is trivial. Isn´t it?
this was very easy most logic puzzles are much harder
i thought it was an interesting one

if they ask me the shrink you and put you in the blender question and I laugh on the spot, is the interview over?
