I’m playing this piece right now! It is an under appreciated piece. Many think Liszt is full of nothing but virtuosic fluff, but even his flashiest pieces like this one hold extremely beautiful music. Great performance!

Fun fact: Liszt had retired from publicly playing piano when he composed this (in fact it's a little more complicated. Both his piano concertos took about 25 years until they had reached their final revisions and were performed). So when this was performed for the first time Liszt did not play the piano. He conducted the orchestra. Edit: I confused this with the 2nd Piano Concerto. He did in fact play this concerto himself at the world premiere. Hector Berlioz conducted the Orchestra.

@@T-J-S the piece I mentioned is Rach Sonata for Piano and Cello, OP 19. I love that Andante mvt. I was very pleasantly surprised when Trifonof accompanied the First Cello of LA Phil as the Encore piece after Trifonof's Brahms Concerto 2. Maestro has plenty of pieces he can play in the orchestral format for sure. Maestro is indeed the Maestro.
@@T-J-S Personally I don't. Everybody and their dog plays the Rachmaninoff's these days. As great as they are they are hopelessly overplayed. Pianists should rather learn more obscure repertoire to stand out.
Great interpretation. It is really different from others. I would really encourage you to do liszt's 2nd piano concerto as I think it might be better suited for you.
Another piece by my favourite composer is amazingly played by your magic hands. Liszt would be very proud of you and would love to be related to you so you could teach him some thing. Keep practicing brother❤

過去リスト動画で最高！この曲も鍵盤だけ見ると、いかにも巨匠リストらしい両手オクターブの幅広い移動が多い、1音でも外せばミスが目立つ。普段オーケストラでかき消されているピアノパートも、こうしてみると結構忙しく縦横無尽に動いていて忙しいなと思いました。あと変ホ長調のせいか、黒鍵使用が圧倒的に多いですね。1楽章後半のマエストーソのオクターブ、3楽章トライアングル以降も殆ど黒鍵使用ばかり。なんかリストが自分の腕を存分に魅せる為に書いた、その矜持は牙や鋭角が多いオクターブのキレに現れている。
