I grew up in a house without running water, so we had the experience of an outhouse. I adore lilacs and they will probably help with unpleasant smells. Our small tractor has a backhoe attachment, would have really helped you. I think it’s great that you repurposed the materials on hand. Many moons ago wee had a two seater whrn I was a child. My Dad had me put lime powder ( I think it was lime) to put down in the hole tilll the honey dippers came by. Ha
no, I mentioned before I wanted one here on the property, just figured I better get it done as I only have 1 small bathroom in the house...so she knew it was on my list

Question: Can you use Cedar planks so that the smell won’t be as intense as the outhouse is used? The odor tends to flow with the wind.
I vented it, and apparently that's why they built them in the lilac bushes a hundred years ago
