The oldie films are generally good because it was starting out they did not have the techniques we have today so makes them marvellous to watch super film !
CLASSIC FILMS!
"The art of making a good movie also depends on its actors".!!!👌👏👏
I love to hear the tires squeal on a wet pavement, lol!
That was a great film.Thank you so much.
Wow...April 4th, Noreen Nash just celebrated her 98th Birthday....one of the last survivors of the Golden Age. Not a bad B-crime Noir. reminds of me of Key Largo (48) just a bit
Yeah! I noticed that too, just today. I was surprised to see that she only had 50 credits.
She was just 24 when she made this movie. Her final role was in an episode of a very
short-lived TV series in 1967, when she was only 43 -- less than half the age she is now.
She died on June 6 2023, age 99.
This was unexpectedly very intriguing and the performances were credible with the characters colorful indeed. Thank you for providing this interesting film!
Great film, thank you! Gripping… 👏💜
Great movie!! Thanks, im subscribed.
Director, Oscar Boetticher is better known as "Budd" Boetticher....for seven Westerns he directed, starring Randolph Scott.
And some quirky film noirs as well!
Thank you!
You go to find a bunch of ruthless gansters, and your one and only gun you hide under a shirt in the top drawer of the only dresser. 😮 But it was a good little B Noir movie. Nash was a very good actor. Everytime I see Martin Kosleck I picture him in a Nazi uniform. Thanks for posting.😊
Thanks for the movie.
Thank you,good movie.
Thanks for helping me discover Noreen Nash. Made my day.
terrific opening scene. Boetticher was such a good director even way back then .before he became famous with his Randolph Scott westerns
They swiped all those medical supplies, you'd think SOMEONE would have thought to take some aspirin to get that fever down!
Not bad - enjoyed it while I played Golf Rival on my phone, lol! Thanks for the upload - the love interest was a looker for true 🙂
@jannet of many countries It was just a cheap unpaid plug for Golf Rival. But yes, it's SO true - 40 years of Boilermaking will do that to a person if they don't want to be cleaning studs on every job 🙂
@jannet of many countries No, but I did that ... sometimes I read a book too and put on subtitles and listen to music as well. I'm versatile 🙂 I've seen many of these many times.
I watched this whilst juggling 3 coconuts😺
very good, thank you!
The film credits Oscar Boetticher as director. I found out Budd used that name as well.
The word is ANTIBIOTIC! lol None of them ever heard of such? What more romantic way could a Hero express his emotions to his hunny than: "Find a boulder-stay behind it." ? LOL I think I've heard the line, "We gotta get rid of Louie." before in another movie. BUT, if you could see the faces clearly, they hired 2 of the Westmores to do makeup and 2 women for hair (Helen Turpin and...). They must have had high hopes, and it isn't a bad movie at all. Joey, the guy with the near-Unibrow, was Gene Evans, who made Westerns like Gun Smoke and war films. TY-nice post!
They really wrote great yarns.
Good story.
another fine performance by the late great Thargly Duggan .
typo error , should be Dougan .
????
@@daviddixon1011 the man of a thousand faces . The New Musical Express 1942 .
The lead actor who played Dan Sullivan the insurance investigator was Gene Raymond there is no actor credited with that name in the movie
@@ninelivecat he played that part , like so many others under a "nom de guerre" , which was why he was called the man of a thousand faces .
Good film, very good actors and direction. The music is pretty awful, wish we could mute it. VERY poor print, unfortunately.
thank you
Joey air conditioned by Charles mcgraw in LA, heist gone bad😺
I always like the stories where an insurance investigator gets involved in recovering stolen money. They always seem to win in the end....I wonder why....LOL..!!
Chili Williams (the secretary) was hotter than a basket of Ghost peppers.....read her bio!
Entrancing is the word.
HEY NOW…THAT DA IS DETROITS OWN MOVIE HOST BILL KENNEDY 🙀

all I can think of is didn;t they have aspirin back then???
He might not be a real doctor, but he should have told them to bring penicillin and a syringe in case an infection...or tablets.....
He asked for sulfa, low grade antibiotic. I'm not sure penicillin was that available in those years. Not sure what year they're supposed to be in. I think 1945 was the year penicillin was discovered. But I think that might have only been available to military. Just guessing.
👍
