How the heck do you not have a factory soft top for a 2 door?Seriously... That said I'd rather get a good top than deal with a defective one so... 🤷♂️
For $1100 they could have at least included glass window panels instead of plastic. Surprised there isn't an option for a rear defroster. The harness plug is there, might as well make an option that allows it to be functional. This is a great 3 season product, but will be very inconvenient for winter use where there is ice/snow/below freezing temps.
I'm not a huge soft top fan, but that looks like a well-designed and clean install for the Bronco! I can say with experience, Best Top makes a quality product!
Not a new source but rather just a tweak to some of the edges and thickness on the current design. Webasto is still producing the revised version of the MIC top.
The Bimini top was more elaborate to install than I thought. I’d want something to throw on quickly for the weekends, this seems like it’d take some effort.

I'd just try some weatherstripping with the hard top, but the soft top looks nice; though, having owned a convertible, I'd worry about extra road noise being worse than the rattling at freeway speeds.
The stock soft top is not even close to the same quality as some aftermarket options. I don't know what they were thinking when they agreed to use that for production.
They have that, too, but I don’t think it covers the center-panel portion, just the area of the very front panels. Bestop has been selling that for JK and JL wranglers for awhile, happy they decided to make one for the Bronco too.

My 2013 MX-5 has done this since the day I bought it... Turns out 6 years of ownership later there was a bolt stuck between in the trim by the rear view mirror hahahah.
really love the look of that soft top, but the way it just hangs out when its folds back is hideous. Do any of these soft tops fold back into the rear cargo area? or do they all just sit on the roof?
I think the factory soft top seems a bit better since it folds ALL the way back and locks down at the tailgate. That way you don’t have the top sitting there folded up on top.
I’ve run my 2-door factory soft top flipped back at 75mph+ with no problems. But, it is about the goofiest looking thing you see. Converted to a second hand hard top and never looked back.
I'm sure you have heard by now. But just in case you haven't. Putting a graphite dry lube on rooftop located pins gets rid of the clicking on hardtop. Others have used a liquid spray on lube. But I think dry graphite lube works best. I haven't even had to reapply it.
The soft tops leak past every seal! Id recommend saying away from car washes and not having anything in the back that you don't want a bit wet when pressure washing. At the bronco off roadeo we just put some 3m foam seal on the hard top pieces runs trails every day with no complaints since.
Not to mention it completely brings the Broncos lines together. Ford should absolutely contract Bestop to manufacture the top for every Bronco that leaves the factory.
Can't wait to see how that soft top fares in the winter here in Eastern Colorado. With 50 MPH winds and snow blowing sideways, that's going to be a different type of test

If I had to guess I would think they're roughly about the same price as their Jeep versions, so about 100 bucks for the bikini top and about 2k for the trek top. It might be a little more depending on fabric options and the fact that the Bronco versions are a lot newer. No clue on labor though, these tops look more complicated than they actually are so I wouldn't even bother paying someone else to put it on for you.
I have a JK and i put my soft top on in the spring and been running the Bimini underneath for years and wouldn't do it any other way. Keeps the random blowing crap on the road out of the SUV too. Makes a huge difference with running the top open all day.
The stock soft top is noisy and replacing it is basically a must do for anyone who plans on using a soft top. I'd recommend this then kO2s, shocks, and intake/exhaust/cpu mod.
The one question I have is , how does the top perform at highway speeds? Just folded, without hold down straps, it seems like it would act as a parachute and get destroyed. Otherwise, it looks like a very high quality top and the mesh top is awesome too.
as a fan of detailing the paint and keeping it in good shape, I'm surprised that TFL is willing to put in place so many rub points with the Bimini straps and bolt-on points of contact between the soft top and the painted top parts of the roll cage/frame...wondering if that doesn't wear down to metal over the years
I really like this top. Looks a LOT more tight fitting than Ford's, and apparently comes with a regular removable rear curtain. It took Bestop a few months to accomplish what Ford wasn't able to do after years of development. Again, well done Bestop!

The Bestop fast back that I added to my JL was the best thing I did, love it so much I sold my hard top and I live in Colorado and don’t regret it one bit.
That little rattle from the hard top is soooo annoying!!! So we’re going to install a full soft top that will flap about create heap of wind noise and start leaking within a year or so….🧐😂 Love your videos guys but maybe a little lost in your logic with this one?
I would not doubt that at sometime Ford adds a middle cross brace , as that is a big open area for that hard top to sit with nothing to sit on. That was the creaking sound.
This is who Ford should have contracted with originally. It looks much better than the soft top you can order at the dealer. No wavy back windows and I bet this one doesn't rub the paint off either.
As a prize for buying a very expensive Bronco, you get to fix it by spending another $1200. Yay, where do I sign up? All sarcasm aside, that angled rear may look cool, but the dirt buildup on that plastic window is a nightmare. And as any of us without deep pockets understand, it is either expensive to replace that one window, or very laborious to polish out the plastic again and again.
I think ford is actually recalling all of those poorly made hardtops with ones from a new supplier. That softtop install is clean and looks really nice.

The squeaking & rattling is a known issue with all the new Broncos. Recently, Ford announced a pause in all deliveries, as all the roofs of previously sold Broncos are to be replaced.
@@edlawrence6553 not all, soft top orders are getting delivered. Hardtop orders will be delayed and will be delivered with the fixed ones this time from Webasto.
The early Jeep JKs had issues with the hard tops too. Leaking & rattling that was later corrected at the factory. We (owners) used weatherstripping & silicone as remedies. On one hand, none of these issues should occur on a $43K+ vehicle. On the other hand, the Wrangler & Bronco are like Lego sets where many parts are removable, so that does lend to more creaks, noises, & issues in general.
I know silence is golden, once i was able to tune and quiet my JT hard top to no longer rattle or squeak like a cat stuck in a Styrofoam box it made it much more enjoyable. Now if only that replacement back window for my hard tops rear window leak would come in.

Two things. How does the rear open with the top installed? Second, you have to get a mud river rear seat hammock for your dog. I have one in my FJ for my griffon and he loves it. Plus it saves the original seat from most of the hair and dirty paw prints. Look it up.

The folding frame looks really wobbly during opening. Curious on the long term durability for those that may have it open a lot. Time will tell. Curious if they will offer different shade % on the bimini. I want to get a bimini for shade, but the one they have barely stops any sunlight.
Hope y’all keeping the hard top. At the my local Ford dealerships looking at the new Bronco. Told me If going to buy a new Bronco now that they have this one with soft top. That’s the person wants the Bronco back out. Can get this one with the soft top now. If I want the hardtop one. Got wait till next year. The Ford dealership say we can add as a hardtop when the hardtop come in we put it on sometime next year then you can keep the soft top for free from the dealerships.
Best way to trade in a clicking noise for a wind and road road plus making it not weather proof that will made the cabin freezing cold on the winter and brutally hot on the summer. I will not trade the hard top for a bikini unless you plan to have it on FL or CA all year long and made it a beach truck.
Yep. Jeep has been doing this for 40 whatever years. The true test will be how it leaks and sounds after owning it 5-10 years down the road. I have a 2013 2D JK with the freedom hardtop and I take it off every spring and put it back on right before winter and it still does not leak or rattle after all these years.

You could have also solved it with $5 on Amazon with foam lining or gaskets at the problem areas. I've had this issue before with other vehicles.

In the winter, or for long road trips, consider throwing a blanket between the bimini and the soft top for extra insulation. :)

My 2022 2 door hard top is as quiet as ever. been over lots of different roads and have had roof panels removed and works great.
That's so badass that you can run the soft top and the mash sun shade at the same time.

Soft tops from the factory have been rubbing off paint, not sure if it's due to user error though

To solve the popping noise simply put a piece of heat shrink that fits perfectly over the guide pins. Don't add any heat.

Bad time to sell soft tops for the bronco when fords giving them out free!lol

I was thinking the same thing, however, chances are, what they are installing here will be better quality than what Ford would offer.
Ford isnt giving owners a soft-top, they are replacing the hard-tops with new hard-tops.
@@porcelainthunder2213 they have updated them with mouse fir anti squeak tape.

So wait…you guys never tried to take the hardtop off or try to realign it? Maybe it came from the factory misaligned or something.
The squeaking & rattling is a known issue with all the new Broncos. Recently, Ford announced a pause in all deliveries, as all the roofs of previously sold Broncos are to be replaced.
We took the hardtop off and replaced it. We also used lubricant to try to stop the problem to no avail.
@@edlawrence6553 not all, soft top orders are getting delivered. Hardtop orders will be delayed and will be delivered with the fixed ones this time from Webasto.

The early Jeep JKs had issues with the hard tops too. Leaking & rattling that was later corrected at the factory. We (owners) used weatherstripping & silicone as remedies. On one hand, none of these issues should occur on a $43K+ vehicle. On the other hand, the Wrangler & Bronco are like Lego sets where many parts are removable, so that does lend to more creaks, noises, & issues in general.

That soft top looks good. I really do like it.
It does cause a little bit of a pain for accessing the back and whatnot.
I know silence is golden, once i was able to tune and quiet my JT hard top to no longer rattle or squeak like a cat stuck in a Styrofoam box it made it much more enjoyable. Now if only that replacement back window for my hard tops rear window leak would come in.
That's a must have accessory. Well worth the cost. It looks like your bronco got even more fun (if that's possible).

Two things. How does the rear open with the top installed? Second, you have to get a mud river rear seat hammock for your dog. I have one in my FJ for my griffon and he loves it. Plus it saves the original seat from most of the hair and dirty paw prints. Look it up.

A much better soft top over the factory. This solves my debate of dual top or not. HT plus this exact setup. Love it.

Has anyone been completely happy with their new Bronco. Seems everyone likes the power train and tech but that’s about it.
I am glad to see that Tommy's backing up skills have improved and on a side note the Bronco looks pretty cool with that new top on it
It would be amazing if ford shipped out the brocos to all the people that pre ordered them with the soft top, rather then fixing the hard top issue and having the buyers wait.
It actually looks better with the soft top which I thought id never say about any vehicle ever.

I assume that Bimini top would fit underneath the factory soft-top, yeah? So if you had a Bronco with the factory soft-top, you could install the Bimini top and leave it there all the time?
I would have just added some padding on the touching parts of the hard top and it was good to go. Hard top looks way better also.

The folding frame looks really wobbly during opening. Curious on the long term durability for those that may have it open a lot. Time will tell. Curious if they will offer different shade % on the bimini. I want to get a bimini for shade, but the one they have barely stops any sunlight.

At the my local Ford dealerships looking at the new Bronco. Told me If going to buy a new Bronco now that they have this one with soft top. That’s the person wants the Bronco back out. Can get this one with the soft top now. If I want the hardtop one. Got wait till next year. The Ford dealership say we can add as a hardtop when the hardtop come in we put it on sometime next year then you can keep the soft top for free from the dealerships.

Best way to trade in a clicking noise for a wind and road road plus making it not weather proof that will made the cabin freezing cold on the winter and brutally hot on the summer. I will not trade the hard top for a bikini unless you plan to have it on FL or CA all year long and made it a beach truck.
That’s why you never buy a first-batch vehicle. Always wait 2 or 3 years of production for the bugs to be fixed.
Yep. Jeep has been doing this for 40 whatever years. The true test will be how it leaks and sounds after owning it 5-10 years down the road. I have a 2013 2D JK with the freedom hardtop and I take it off every spring and put it back on right before winter and it still does not leak or rattle after all these years.
