I wouldn't have traded the elan+2 for an Esprit, I would have fixed the roof as the elan is a better useable car. I've tried both.

You need the 5 speed box before you have the metal flake roof which was only on the +2S 130/5

Did the car originally have Stromberg carbs? Hence the bonnet bulge?

I don’t think so, I think always had Webber’s but I could be wrong
