From my understanding, Source (God) already “knows” everything in the physical universe. What it seeks is “experience”. To do this, it inserts its own self-awareness into the physical universe that it has imagined. As Source is a singular being, it seeks to experience “otherness” as well as every possible sensation and emotion that it can not experience directly. By gaining this experiential understanding (by experiencing all levels of contrast which it has made available through a “physical” existence) it is able to gain a complete appreciation for what it is. The love that near death experiencers feel stems from that collective experiential understanding. Once Source knows what “not-love” (disunity) feels like, there is a new and more profound appreciation for love and unity.
