@@Peggyt-jp6mt If you are referring to the automotive uses, yes a sandblaster would be a good tool that you would use to strip down frames to bare metal and remove rust, that being said it also warps the panels too and it just better to use the alternative (newer age "sand-blasters.") I guess I could see sandblasting the blade, (why? I don't really know) but then you have to think that blade is always being tore up by debris he is clearing, and no you cannot just sandblast a car and respray, you can expect warped panels and base coat wont protect the bare metal from the elements, and probably body filler assuming there is body work to be done, hence the need of a sandblaster. Thank you for the video. Great job on installing the new blade on the kubota. That was cool to go test it out after. I really liked the end where you went to see Levi.
I have noticed that as well. Andrew "finishes" all of his jobs. Smooths everything out--even if it is the far side of a road ditch he just cleaned out. Most people anymore just want to spend the least amount of time possible to accomplish the task. Andrew will continue to get referrals and repeat business because he does all jobs the way he would want someone else who does work for him. That is rare anymore--keep up the great work and attitude Andrew!!! Keep the vids coming--I know they are time consuming.
Sometimes when I work on the teeth of a bucket I think of all the things a dentist has to do to get a cap to fit on a tooth spire. Like you said a farrier has to get rid of all the decay to encourage proper development of the hoof. Good analogy!
Congratulations again Andrew for a job well done; not only are your needed materials ready but also you make quick decisions beneficial to the job. Likewise, you know when to edit (shorten) videos that take a lot of time but also when to mute the video. Thanks and more power !!!
Great fix that will last a long long time. One time my Dad needed to replace the cutting edge on his Fisher snow plow and was able to get a “worn out” cutting edge off of a motor grader from the township works department. Way overkill for snow but it certainly did the job. I noticed the 2nd hydraulic hammer laying outside by your Dodge. Now that you have gotten the taste of breaking rocks out your going all in. 👍🏻👍🏻
Michał Ty...to hell with the T-shirt, I want him to come cut into some of my junk, and see if he can fix it again! I have an old concrete block, two pieces of rotted fire wood, and a large chunk of iron, I need him to turn into a D5 dozer and a Mavic pro drone!!
A friend of mine used to store his hammer on it side on the ground and it ruined all the o rings and had to have the whole thing rebuilt , he ended up building a stand to put the bit in so he could store it standing up. Just FYI, could save you a big head ache later...
Jason that is so true. I bought a new hammer that had been setting on pallet outside on its side from an auction. The piston had rusted from rain and ruined the seals. Had to buy a new piston and seal kit.
@magadon ruferto I believe that was just grease in that video. You're supposed to use a special grease, but people who don't use their hammer religously don't often have the correct hammer grease.
Good advice , I've never heard of that before (not to store a hammer on its side ?) thanks , also any Grease is better then no grease . As a equipment owner repairs like cutting edge's , yes sooner the better but it comes down to economics . Just one more job , so it will pay for the repair . In the long run it will cost you more !

It is a pity that I do not understand English well. You have a good instument and skillful hands. Plasma cutter is very handy tool. Best regards from Russia.
I hate to be so critical because I like your channel, but as a welding inspector since 1988, I have to tell you that any time you're welding any steel, old, new, rusty, or clean, you need to grind the surface of the steel where the weld is to take place so you get good penetration without any defects. You had all rusty and dirty steel, both the blade and the new cutting steel, both of which you welded without grinding either weld surface. That crack in the pipe brace also should have been gouged out a little before being welded. Maybe you did all the necessary grinding but you didn't show it. I hope it works for you.
I’m not even a welding inspector and I cringe at most of his welding. I’m just a guy who has done a lot of welding, taken some classes to learn proper procedures and knows how to weld properly. People who don’t know a lot about welding will think that because it didn’t immediately break or that because I welded it 9 months ago and it’s still going that it’s ok. Improper welds will eventually fail. You just don’t know when. I admire this guy’s work ethic and tenacity but a lot of seems to forging blindly ahead with no concern for the correct method or process. It seems to be a lack of knowledge or education rather than knowing the right way and just not doing it. Either way, it’s entertaining to watch.
@@doi467 you cant be serious. what works in the real world is clean steel and proper preparation of the parent metals. welding is 90% prep 10% weld. if you fuck that prep up. you gotta be one hell of a welder to fix that shit. unclean steel leads to undercut, which in turn is a cracking zone as the weld usually cools quickly in the crack making it quite hard and brittle. I weld Buckets for a living and theres no way in hell we would do this without cleaning the steel first.
Super job! I continue to be amazed at your willingness (eagerness) to jump right into any task and see it through to the end. If a person can't BE that kind of guy, he/she needs to at least KNOW someone like that. Friends with your kind of skills are good to have. ;) As always, thanks much for sharing. Steve

In my eyes, it seems that you always want to do a better job than is required. You are a young man, with old-fashioned values and professional ethics.
Keep the vids coming--I know they are time consuming.
this was some cutting edge repair right here
What you did there, I see it.
Andrew you make me feel better and forget my issues when I watch your videos. Thank you.
The first part reminded me of watching a farrier work on a horses hoof with a thrush infection.
Sometimes when I work on the teeth of a bucket I think of all the things a dentist has to do to get a cap to fit on a tooth spire. Like you said a farrier has to get rid of all the decay to encourage proper development of the hoof. Good analogy!
Exactly what I was thinking of!
Congratulations again Andrew for a job well done; not only are your needed materials ready but also you make quick decisions beneficial to the job. Likewise, you know when to edit (shorten) videos that take a lot of time but also when to mute the video. Thanks and more power !!!
Andrew Camarata for PRESIDENT!! who's with me??
Glen Johnson - He hasn’t got the time lol
He thinks too logically
Great fix that will last a long long time. One time my Dad needed to replace the cutting edge on his Fisher snow plow and was able to get a “worn out” cutting edge off of a motor grader from the township works department. Way overkill for snow but it certainly did the job.
I noticed the 2nd hydraulic hammer laying outside by your Dodge. Now that you have gotten the taste of breaking rocks out your going all in. 👍🏻👍🏻
Yanmar and Kabota should sponsor you with free parts or new machines ✌️😐
AGREED
Kubota.
Double agree
No. New machines would ruin the whole atmosphere of the channel
He never needs parts for the yanmar
A for effort, A for results...well done. Great video as usual. Enjoyed every minute.
I want a tshirt that says "Let's cut into it and see what happens".
Me too! :)
«let’s go see Levi» and a pic of the dog.
Sounds like a surgeon's dark humor.
I'd buy that shirt
Thanks Andrew, just love what you do and your problem solving skills
Woohoo you’re back 👍👍👍👍
Again, a no nonsense approach to repairs. Love it 👍👍👍
A friend of mine used to store his hammer on it side on the ground and it ruined all the o rings and had to have the whole thing rebuilt , he ended up building a stand to put the bit in so he could store it standing up. Just FYI, could save you a big head ache later...
Good advice.
Jason that is so true.
I bought a new hammer that had been setting on pallet outside on its side from an auction.
The piston had rusted from rain and ruined the seals. Had to buy a new piston and seal kit.
This is good advise.
In the long run it will cost you more !
hard steel has a dark look from what i have found but that isn't always the case sometimes dirty steel is dark too people will always like your videos because you try t do stuff right and you take the time to explain things without being boastful i will rate your channel way to the top of the channels i watch so as always great job done right good deal thanks for another top notch video
Yay! Bedtime stories! Was beginning to have withdrawals haha
Love that Miller Mig welder.....Never used that kind of torch before. Just had Acetylene torches and the knozzles were always plugging up. The Mig welds so smooth. Love the plasma cutter. Never use one but it looks fantastic. It does do a better job than bottle torches. Learned something new. It cuts real good. Great job....you sure don't mind heavy tedious work. That's a good man.
Levi knows where the best seat is. : )
even levi avoids that seat. please andrew, do a video on replacing that seat. it would make all of your fans happy.
And where the mud is not...
Andrew you’re such an ace with a cut torch and welder. Fun seeing your fixes come to life. Great time-lapse videos; no wonder so many views and subs. Aha-the plasma cutter is one secret. Nice.
great video .... Levi looks tired our dog Lady 13 years old had a stroke a week ago getting a little better but vet is saying to put her down..
Don't have the heart too she saved our Family 10 years ago when we had a fire she was on our bed before fire alarm sounded waking me up ...
Barry McBride As long as her tail is still wagging keep her around.
@@markfryer9880 Thanks she is doing a lot better. I have had her in our indoor pool holding her and she swims in our arms she is a lot more stable standing too
It is a pity that I do not understand English well. You have a good instument and skillful hands. Plasma cutter is very handy tool. Best regards from Russia.
In my experience it is always best to put in 3 passes.....Bottom and top tied onto your root pass....All in all well done.....Thanks for sharing
I just love the way you 'fix' machines by using the machine itself. :))
Greatest call ever
Levi is the best!
Great video Andrew, very clear explanation of what you are doing and why. Pat Levi from me! Regards Sarah
Jeebus stfu
ya his welding seems to fail alot......never. if you watch his channel you might learn a thing or two about what actually works in the real world.
100 percent correct. That weld will lay in there a lot nicer with prepped metal.
Friends with your kind of skills are good to have. ;)
As always, thanks much for sharing.
Steve
You have done a great job on the Replacing the cutting edge I love ❤️ your video 📷 the are best thing I look forward to seeing your next video 📷
Glad to see you with a new video Andrew. Nice repair on the blade.
