These are just amazing. Your videos stick out so much more than any other gta 5 content creator and you go the extra mile in every single video, some people dont understand the insane amount of work and patience it takes to put together something like this and at the same time not just for entertainment but literal research. These videos are mostly what continues to keep me playing the game when i get tired of it

Strangely enough it is possible to land a helicopter totally fine without the motors running. So if they weren't over water the test subjects would be fine without fuel.
I won't pretend to fully understand the physics of it but it has something to do with the air going through the blades as it falls giving enough lift that the helicopter has a fantastic glide ratio.
The name for this is "Auto rotation" and it can work but only in certain situations
I seem to recall the rule-of-thumb that a helicopter must be at 100 feet or 100 miles per hour to safely land by auto gyration. With a glide ratio of 3:1 I found (the shuttle has 4.5:1 on approach) and some fall-time to start moving forward, a good pilot might make it to the beaches. Trevor makes sure not to hire good pilots.
why helicopters don't have a parachute?
@@lucasgauer5880 A blackhawk helicopter weighs 13650 pounds, and a g12 parachute can safely lower 2200 pounds to the ground. That means a minimum of 6-7 parachutes weighing 125 pounds each and needing a mechanism to release them reliably. For safety when helicopter rotors are all completely removed at high altitude, this adds >750 pounds of equipment and subtracts ~1/3 of the helicopter's internal cargo capacity.
Most helicopter accidents do not allow for parachute deployment, whether due to altitude, damage, or pilot awareness
With Autorotation you can keep yourself and hopefully the helicopter in good shape on touchdown, but you definitely can't go far the moment the engine stalls, specially when you don't have forward speed... In this case with a lot of luck you can land back on the pad they take off from, otherwise is diving into the water the only other option. Landing on the shore is definitely not an option with this low altitude, shore is simply too far away.

Fun video as always, but I would have liked to see the time it takes to board the helicopter and start up the engines included as a supplemental time. Then you could combine the times to compare a helicopter's "GTFO speed."

how to tell if a Jantsuu video is any good:
- Trevor starts out with a "Hel-Lo! MMH!!"
- the Russian Guy (whats his 'NPC Name' btw...?) blasts his techno through his car's speakers
- it uses the game engine of GTA5 to conduct tests and experiments...
...if all of these conditions have been met, then it gets my hardly-official "Seal of Approval" :)
its funny how he only puts enough fuel for the test and then the pilots go down with the ship once the fuel runs out
i believe one pilot at least survived, the supervolito did not explode when it landed on the other coast.

Note: The military Cargobob has a bit more pwr than either of the others like it..Jetsam and Cargobob..neither of which can be upgraded, nor the mil edition..it's like the mil version has standard higher engine pwr.
My test was lifting the same Mule truck & yup..it lifted it a bit better.
