I tested all four for a month and preferred the AZ80. I really wanted to like the momentums but I couldn't get the kind of bass I wanted out of them. Satus between 3anc was great, I have no complaints, just that AZ80 sounded better. PerL pro had some hissing that drove me mad. Great video!
I bought the Perl Pro and the AZ80’s. Both are great buds. The Perl Pro’s have more bass. I consider myself a bass head and have always gravitated towards buds with good bass. I ended up keeping the AZ80’s. While the Technics didn’t have the same level of sub bass that I gravitate towards, the huge sound stage and incredible detail won me over. What really shocked me is the Technics AZ80’s rivals the AirPod Pro 2’s transparency mode. Very natural transparency mode. Noise cancelling is excellent. It’s just behind my XM5’s for ANC, but ANC is great on the AZ80’s. Phone call quality is also good.
@@blinsmaslom3263 interesting that you like the XM5 buds more the XM5 headphones. Sound is a subjective sense and everyone has their own opinions on what sounds best to themselves. The XM5’s have more bass. They also sound great to my ears. I like the AZ80’s sound better overall. They have a larger sound stage with more instrument separation, crisper vocals, and the highs sparkle. The AZ80’s have more detail. The AZ80’s have better call quality. Call quality is the one big disappointment with the XM5’s, especially in noisy environments. The XM5’s have better ANC. To my ears, the XM5’s have the best ANC and are the only buds that rival Bose. Both the XM5 and AZ80’s have excellent battery life even with ANC on. The XM5’s are excellent earbuds with class leading ANC with a warm sound signature. I love both!
I used to own MTW3s and I loved the customisation tbh those probably are gold standard now in sound quality for tws . I still have them and never thought to even pick them up however they do have amazing sound for a tws until you listen to the Technics( The HD600s are goated though). It really is a preference but The way the Technics can handle any genre because of how balanced and wide it sounds(no Diddy) you hear everything.
@@Virion18 Thanks for the detailed response. The online reviews confirm your feedback regarding the imaging / sound stage. However, in terms of the overall tuning, if you still have access to the XM5's, I would suggest trying them with the Bright EQ preset. I heard a UA-camr recommend this and was a bit sceptical, but have now permanently set it on mine and they sound perfect to me. They now sound much more crisp, clear and detailed. I'm surprised how well they respond to EQ. I've even set my WH version to the same preset, and it's had an improvement, but they still sound more compressed to me compared to the WF. I also saw the early reviews which showcased the poor mic quality, but this has been fixed in one of the firmware updates and is now surprisingly good for earbuds. I can see that the AZ80 have 3 device multipoint connectivity, I think they're first to market with this and it would have been handy for me to have. Importantly, I managed to get the WF's for over 40% off, direct from Sony, manufacturer refurbished, but with full warranty. However, the Technics are a somewhat obscure brand in my country and are only available at full retail.
Between the Perl Pro’s & Technics how does the sub bass compare, because Picky said the Technics have greater sub bass than the Denon’s do you agree? Also how would you compare mid bass between the 2? Thanks
Nice ranking, I do use the AZ80s (Dynamic profile) and the Buds2 Pro (Eq'd using Wavelet) day to day and the Technics are my top pick of everything I tried (TWS of course). Recently I had for a few days the Cambridge Audio M100's and thought they're also really good and worth checking, especially if sound quality is your main focus. I had a few issues with calls but otherwise e recommend you take a look at these, they might surprise you. Great video mate!
Best earbuds under $60-$100, Realme Buds Air 5 Pro (not the Realme 6 Pro), better sound than the OnePlus Buds 3, very low in-game latency (45ms), very good battery🔋life, and above all very good microphone for phone calls in noisy environments. The best earbuds between $100-$200, the Huawei Freebuds Pro 3, very very good sound, very good ANC and transparency mode, the best on the market for phone calls, especially in noisy environments, their only fault, fairly average battery life🔋(4h-4h30 with ANC activated). For people really invested in Apple and Samsung Close-Systems, the Airpod Pro 2 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are almost indisputably the best choices in this price range. But, currently, overall, the best earbuds on the market are the Technics AZ80 👑, very very good sound, easily in the top 2-3 on the current market, good microphone for phone calls, very good battery🔋, good to very good ANC and transparency mode, but above all, they are currently the only ones on the market to have the 3-branch multipoint, unlike all the others who only have the 2-branch multipoint. And, for those who have a limited budget, the Qcy Ht08 Melobuds Pro are in my opinion the best choice, good sound, LDAC, multipoint, good battery 🔋, and above all very good microphone for phone calls in noisy environments (much better than Jabra Elite 10, Airpod Pro 2, Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, Sony Xm5...), and this for just $30-$40 even less. 🙏🏽
Thanks for this. Been watching some of your videos as I'm researching which buds to get upgrading from my Galaxy Buds2 Pro. Not sure which one to go with between the Momentum 4, Perl Pro, and AZ80. I don't even really care about transparency or ANC and usually leave both of these off. I really like the Buds2 Pro's sound and I generally don't like a *lot* of bass, but do appreciate good bass sound. Instrument separation is important and I listen to a lot of rock with distorted guitars.
Can you release a video about the loudest tws earbuds? Most of them are not loud enough for many of us no matter how much we crank them up thanks for great videos like this
I absolutely agree with you. The quality of the headphones is undermined by the low volume. The loudest I've heard is me KZ VXS pro and kz xtra. And the sound quality is quite good.
The loudness is ranked in his reviews? Most buds go above 110db which is way way beyond safe listening.. WHO recommends only 2.5mins a week at 110db before you risk permanent hearing damage
I bought 'Nothing Ear 2024' and I also have Sennheiser Momentum TW 4. The Nothing Ear 2024 is the best sound quality I've ever heard at it's price. Noise cancelling is also solid. A slight tuning from it's equalizer, and the use of 'Spin Fit' ear tip, I felt I got a pair of earphones that betters the big brands that might cost twice as much.

Great review. I like the AZ80 (easier to say with a UK English AZed 80!). However, I reach for the Status Between ANC for my listening preferences (I don't bother with turning on ANC). Battery life is fantastic (double some others I have). And they have top IP rating (handy in case of occasional UK rain). Please review the Galaxy Buds 3 pro!!
I will soon 👍
I finally got a set of az80‘s after your sound review but I have to admit that I am disappointed by the soundquality. The xm5, the mtw4 and the between 3 anc all sound way better to me, more intense and detailed and a lot more bass each. What eq do you use on the az80? MB that can save them for me…
I use the dynamic EQ, this improves the sound a lot for me
Did you try the Dynamic EQ on the AZ80's? How does it sound?
@RuthlessX66 yep that’s my go to EQ
