Saying “zero” education in finances in schools would be wrong for my public schooling. We had several lessons along the way both informally with fund-raising and direct required classes in high school that both addressed simple economics and a class in “single’s living” where we learned simple life skills like budgets, checkbook balancing, loans and costs, and credit cards. We did not learn about investing or house purchasing, so maybe that could be added.
