Hi Jessica and thank you for doing all these basic stitches. I have been putting of Embroidery because of some bad advice but with your help I am getting there slowly. Cross stitch has been my stitching craft but I can now do the one stitch that I feared most. I have been saving all of your stitch videos so I have the to hand. Loves and hugs Wendy xxx
Brilliant title for the video! Exactly what I need to finish off a small piece of embroidery. Just perfect, thank you so much for taking the time to post this.
I am excited to try this small leaf stitch on my current project as I was pulling out my hair in frustration as well as my stitches. The project has small leaves and it isn't appropriate to make them much larger. This stitch you've demonstrated so well may be my savior. Thanks again.
Excellent tutorials Jessica. So easy to follow. Thank you so much.....! I am new to embroidery and find this info really helpful. Best wishes, Mark.....
thank you so much! I've tried looking everywhere how to do this kind of stitch for leaves. ive seen lots of pinterest images that use this stitch and Ive wanted to make something similar. super helpful!
Thanks! I think the small leaf stitch would be a good name for it-then your customers would know to look for a new stitch here in your videos, instead of just doing the satin stitch that the pattern says.
This stitch is pretty awesome compared to a fish bone stitch. I intend to use this method on all of my small flowers. However, may you show me how to do the veins on the leaves please.I have tried, but I always end up messing up and having to start over. BTW,I love your videos. I'm learning hand embroidery from them.
I can't remember how many I was using here, but you can use more or less depending on how big the leaf is and how much texture you want. Less thread will give a smoother look. I would probably use 2-3 strands for a leaf this size.
Small leaf stitch- because it was exactly what I was looking for in my current project🙏

Leaf stich
I would call it a modified fishbone. You only changed one thing.
Small leaf stitch.
Call it a STRAIGHTBONE stich.
