I just got one from Walmart. I work in sporting goods and couldn’t pass it up, and my discount brought it down to about $100. I love the gun and I love what you did to yours!
Great video dude. I just purchased the same rifle and now after running into this video, I'm going to do the conversion which makes it look a lot better and the grip will be a plus. Kudos and congrats on your purchase.
I bought one of these about a year ago. It was so ridiculously inexpensive (right at $100, I think), that I couldn’t resist, even if I had to throw it away! For some reason, this is the most reliable .22Ir I own, and right up there in accuracy with most other .22’s. I have not had a misfire, stovepipe, or any issue since I got it. For a while, I had Iron Tech-Sights on it (same ones used for a Mossberg), and it became extremely accurate. I’ve since gone back to the stock sights, because I used the “Tech’s” on a different build. The rifle weighs almost nothing, and is really fun to shoot. A red dot on this would be fun, but not necessary. It’s not a particularly good-looking gun either, in my opinion, but value vs. price is outstanding.
Totally agree with everything you said, EXCEPT, it looks way better once you swap the butt stock and magazine Great little gun and yes super accurate with the stock sights
Love the review man I just got one of these from my local shop with a scope for 130 I need to get this conversion kit and I’ll be golden keep up the good work man!!!
DANGIT MAN!!! Just came on here looking over reviews and now I've gone and ordered this kit!! Spending money !!! All good, thanks for this video. I'll be back reviewing it when my kit comes in!!
I am just know hearing about this collapsible stock setup and may pick it up. I have my Rossi setup with a Tasco cheap red dot that actually made it quite the steel killer. Sighted in at 50 yards, you can keep flipper targets moving and bounce from target to target with ease. Perfect varmint, camp, or plinking gun.
Thanks for showing the allen bit there. I was getting infuriated that I couldn't get the stock installed, but it's all good now. I'm going to get this platform setup like my CZ Scorpion, but it'll be way cheaper to shoot than current 9mm prices...

Man if you don’t use this gun a lot I would really be interested in buying it as everywhere else is out of stock. Im literally begging for that mag man they are rare. Thank you so much for your time. Please reply.
The country of origin is stamped tight on the rifle. Brazil. I have one also, bushnell rxs100 on it, a couple 25 round mags and filled the stock with rice to balance it out a bit better. You can’t really go wrong for $100.
This will be my compromise for the Ruger 10/22 Backpacker or Desert Trek22 (really wanted that one but 350 for a 10/22 plus 300 for the Trek stock no bueno). It's way more affordable & actually better (than the Backpacker at least, not the Trek) since you can fire it with the stock folded.
I love the 702 Plinkster 25rd magazine, you can also use a 715T 25rd magazine but, it Does NOT have the nice little add-on to fit over the mag release button. Still, either way, 25rds way cooler than 10!!👍
There is a 100 round drum for the 702 plinkster which means,????? It fits the Rossi!!!!!! I can't remember if I saw it on Getr, Amazon , pro-mag or, online elsewhere?
Is Rossi, like in your first pronunciation. It's made in Brazil by Rossi, owned by CBC (Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos - also a majority shareholder of Taurus) 👍👍🇧🇷🇺🇸
They can be had now for $120 + Shipping to $130 shipped..1/22..I like the Savage 64 FVSR but you can't get mags or a folding stock for it..I think I'm going with the 18" Rossi..
I wonder if that mossberg kit will work on the rossi 22 mag version 🤔 you definitely have to modify the mag hole a little bit bigger but wouldn't be hard
The normal Rossi rs22 will fit the 25 round mags that are produced by Mossberg for the 702 plinkster. Bit of advice though, they're extremely annoying to load the first couple times. The magspring is beyond tense. You'll definitely need to keep the tool they send you with the mags to load for the first 20-30 times. Eventually it breaks in quite nicely.
Not to mention those magazines are so tense I actually ended up having to scrap alot of brass because it was crunching it to tightly. Like I said tho they break in.
Not really, but you'd be close to a Ruger 10/22, which is an infinitely better rifle. This Rossi is a nice cheap plinker rifle. That is its role. Once you start slapping parts on it, it becomes pointless, because instead of the parts, just buy a better rifle from the start. Everyone needs a hobby...or UA-cam content, I guess.
Nice review, love this gun and the sights for my aging eyes. I thought it was just mine that the charging handle seems a little loose. Can/should it be tightened? TIA
Thanks for the video!! Does the conversation kit feel cheap?? Or does it feel like an actual rifle? Have you have any issues with the extended mag?? I can never seem to get the full capacity into it. Thank you!!
I have one. bought some regular 702 mags for it and it jammed like crazy with them. UNTIL i used them enough and compressed the spring for a few weeks. Wife LOVES it to death. We go shooting and she is a cheap date, lol. I want to get her a scope and stock to spruce it up.
Love the little Rossi's, but if you don't care about a folding stock, still want a tactical piece, but don't want to go through all of this $wapping... just get a Citadel TRAKR in 22lr.

So just put my kit together, but I'm not happy the second screw does not go back onto the cover. The front of the barrel kind of moves and creates a little gap? Is this normal?
Anyone have any luck finding the 25 round mag? I can't find them anywhere. Either out of stock or taken off many websites. Its not even on cheaper than dirt.
@@elmSTREETnasty I got the rs22 on trade in but I thought I could upgrade my mag and stock. If I had to do it over I would reconsider the 10/22. There are mags everywhere for that. But regardless the RS22 is extremely accurate. It's still fun to shoot. Bigger mags would be preferred though.
Do you need a pistol grip permit to purchase in order to legally modify the Rossi to have the grip? Or is this a work around? I live in MN so laws here are kinda bizzare and super unclear.
