    Hay, amigo just for safety purpose. Never connect the booster pump in top of any electric plug. If you have any water leak, you can have electric shock or even worse another safety issue in home. I just said. Be careful

    For the future generations. Don't drill holes above electrical outlets.

    Thank you for showing how the pressure switch worked I was starting to think mine was defective.

    1. You have so much space, and you place it few inches above electricity… and 2. The pump should be connected between the filters and the osmosis.

    The booster pump is suppose to be installed after the prefilters and before the ro membranes.

      Hi. I followed the instructions that came with the booster and also just checked the BRS video and it looks like the booster goes before the RODI system and boosts the water pressure to it. Thanks.

      @@DollarDIY im looking at purewateroccasional.net, their diagram is the same, pump at inlet to system. question though, what is the open bucket with a float switch for?
      i was imagining pairing booster pump with larger pressure tank @ 20psi as a "central" RO supply instead of under sink 5 psi.

      @@ilovefunnyamv2nd Hi. The open bucket with the float switch is the RODI water tank. It is a 20 gallon Brute garbage can and holds the processed water. Once that is full, I pump this water into the yellow 20 gallon container and add the salt.

      So the RO System is for your entire house? Then you Soften the water? How much waste water do you get vs just using a “refinery” / “filter” then softening the water?

      The RO system is only for the tanks. The booster help with the pressure going through the double RO unit.

    This booster pump was purchased at Bulk Reef Supply (BRS) here: www.bulkreefsupply.com/1-4-aquatec-8800-booster-pump-bundle.html

    i have an aquatec booster pump and its working as far as increasing pressure in the rodi system however the pressure valve turn off before the rodi auto shut off valve turns off the rodi shut off valve is working but its not quite syncronized with the booster pump pressure valve when the pump turns off the water is still flowing threw the system so the booster pump turns off and later the rodi auto shut off valve turns off i would like to get em to turn off at the same time

    • @Dollarmkr
      @Dollarmkr 4 роки тому

      When my fresh water tank fills the float valve stops the water flow. The pressure that builds up from that turns off the booster pump. I have to manually turn off the water valve going into the RODI system but the water has already been stopped by the float valve.

      The tubing connects to the house water system like a refrigerator ice maker.

    Great video thanks. Only question I have is when you installed the red ro tubes to the booster. It didn’t appear you secured them in anyway or does booster have some sort of tube lock joint or whatever you would call it to prevent the tubes from just popping off?

    • @DollarDIY
      @DollarDIY  3 роки тому +4

      There are tube locks (or whatever they are called) in the booster so you just slide them in and they secure. It’s harder to get them off as you have to pull them part way out then slide the tube out.

    This video is completely wrong. First mistake, never be above 60 psi for water pressure, secondly Never put pump directly from water line will shorten life of pump

    My 500 gallon collection vat is fed by a 75 GPD RO/DI system. I recently switched out the filters and emptied the collection vat which resulting in a massive drop in pressure- 15psi- so the RO/DI system is only producing 20 gallons per day. I installed a pressure pump and pressure switch in hopes that it would raise the pressure to atleast 40psi... but it didn’t work. After I installed the booster pump and switch- the pressure didn’t change at all...
    This problem is putting a massive dent in my water changing schedule... I’ve been looking a pre-pressurized water storage tank- would that help pressurize the 500 gallon vat? I’ve pressurized a 100 gallon collection vat with a bike valve and bike pump before- would this option work for the 500 gallon collection vat? Please help!

    Question regarding the pressure switch... Do you attached it to the discharge end of the system? I am using this RO system for sugaring maple syrup. I am not sure where to install the switch to shut off the system.

    • @DollarDIY
      @DollarDIY  2 роки тому

      Hi David, the pressure switch goes on the output side of the system. I have mine between the RO/DI and the tank. When the tank is full, the switch senses the water is no longer flowing and it shuts off the pump.

    hey there- i just learned from you. in which direction are you turning the little screw to DECREASE the pressure? we cant see you doing it..

    • @DollarDIY
      @DollarDIY  3 роки тому

      Hi Lisa. Sorry about that. When I turn it in (clockwise) it increased my pressure. Out (counterclockwise) it decreased.

    Will the pump suck water from a regular tank or reservoir and push it through the system?

    • @DollarDIY
      @DollarDIY  2 роки тому

      As far as I know it only increases the pressure. It is not a regular pump.

    Can you use these if you have ZERO pressure because you're feeding the water from an open tank rather than from a pressurized water line?

    • @insurroundsound
      @insurroundsound Рік тому +1

      Yes. I use the 8800 pumps for my aeroponics setup. It pulls water from a zero-pressure reservoir and raises pressure to 100psi. (What I have my system set at.)

    According to my schematics, I need to install low pressure and high-pressure relays and solenoid valve. But you have only a high-pressure relay here. Why?

      Hi. Being that I have a water saver version RODI my pressure was too low so I had to add a high pressure booster to get the PSI at recommended levels.

    Hey! Nice setup! Is this pump too loud to install in the living room??

    • @Dollarmkr
      @Dollarmkr 5 років тому

      I wouldn't recommend it. It very quiet for the garage setting but I can definitely hear it so it would like be louder in the living room.

      It sounds like something else is causing your pressure drop. If you lost pressure after you changed the filters, maybe something didn’t go back on right, especially if you didn’t see a gain by adding the booster pump. Try reinstalling the filters and checking all your connections.

      Dollar thanks for the tip- I recently located a leaky pipe that may be the source of my low pressure issue.
