In my opinion, he's right where he needs to be. Making sure you can dunk before or after the 8th grade is crucial for confidence. Now he can focus on other aspects of his game to contend for being one of the best ball players to come out of high school.
If someone would work with him on his takeoff, he would be so much better. he'd probably jump higher too

He is super athletic. Better work on that left though if he wants to make it big time, D1 or otherwise. Even a moderately skilled defender can see its weak. Improve that and he will be beast. Also, hate how they never show if they can defend. Dunks are cool, but if your guy matches you bucket for bucket, you aren't very good.

I can't believe that this kid's got game, hats off to him, his parents are gonna be so happy if he gets selected. Unreal athleticism, unreal!

The highlights you are watching is when Jalen was an 8th grader heading to High school. Jalen Preston of Manvel TX is now a sophomore at Manvel High in the Houston TX area. He is also the #1 rated athlete in the state of TX. He already has nearly double digit high major D1 overs in football as a wide reciever/safety. He stands at 6 ft 2 and weigh about 205 now...I know his dad pretty well. He is a very level headed young man with great family support.

he's doing it against kids his age. As you get older you grow (for the most part), adjust, and adapt. He's gonna learn to get off the ground quicker, and be more explosive as he gets older against kids his age. its a slow progression.
