    Great gift for the environmentally conscious folks you know. I carry my own cutlery, fabric napkin and reusable straw with me in a similar pouch so I don't have to use disposable utensils while away. This pouch is a better design than mine. Thanks Torri for the design & Christine for the how to video!

    They would also be handy if you have a toddler that can't use larger cutlery when you go out to restaurants, they can take their own " pint size " utensils.

    I love this idea. You could also make it as long but a bit deeper and sew a cloth napkin to go with it. Put in your preferred cutlery and either a metal, reusable plastic or silicone straw. Then no matter where you go you have all you need for a sustainable option and you know your cutlery is clean to your own standards.

    Great for the car or work lunch box. A hemmed fat quarter makes a great napkin to pop inside as well 😊

    Great idea! Read other comments, all good. I think I will try to put one together for my sister for Christmas, better hurry, only three days away. She crochets and takes it with her so she can work on it when she has a chance. Would be great for the crochet hooks.
    Your tutorials are wonderful. You give all the tricks and tips needed to put together a great project. Good day from the USA!!

    Great idea. I made one for my daughter and put in some chopsticks and a knife a fork, they fitted beautifully. Great for the hamper gift I put together for her with a combination of jars of homemade goodies. 🥰

    What a neat idea. After Christmas I’m going to have to make some of these for my son and his troop. OR better yet, maybe I’ll work with the boys and let them make their own .

    They would also work for pencils, pens, crochet hooks, knitting needles, etc. I have used a wood burning tool to remove the snaps. You just melt the center pin on the snap and they easily come apart. Other people have cut or crushed the snaps. I find the wood burning tool or a soldering iron works best for me. Great little project.

      I have a desk top snap machine( actually 2 set up one for each side ) I believe you can get a die for removing them to. Love the solder iron idea. As a pain when get faulty one or do wrong

      Thank you for the great tip. I have completed a project and put in a plastic snap that doesn't snap once put in the item. Very frustrating. I need to get a wood burning tool. Unfortunately I had one and got rid of it.

      I had to use a hammer to remove mine. Do you have another hot tool that might work?😀

    • @dickworrall123
      @dickworrall123 Рік тому

      @@ChristinesHomeAffairs If you heat up a nail or a paper clip. You would have to be careful. They would get very hot. You just want to melt the pin, in the center of the snap. In the US, wood burning tools are cheap and can be found at any craft store. I checked Amazon and Walmart. Looks like soldering irons are cheaper than wood burning tools. They both heat up very fast and only take a few seconds to melt the plastic. I have seen videos, where people use small wire cutters to snip around the snap until they break apart.

    Could adjust size for tooth paste and brush maybe waterproof lining . Like others I carry a set cuterlry and chopsticks and straws and a micro fibre cloth to wipe down before putting back n . You could pop in a press sealbag to put dirty cutlery back in. Mine is a zippered pouch as was bought as a pre made set but I really like this one to make for gifts

    Not just camping. Plastic single-use cutlery has been banned in many Australian states and the bamboo stuff can be horrible to use.
    I always carry lightweight cutlery with some of my favourite teabags.

    Love this! Note -At 7:17 you may have edited out the step where the straight edge that has no clipped corners is topstitched which closes the opening and finishes the edge. And a questions: your link for amazon storefront is taking me to a specific product that is not available but I can't find your storefront - am I missing something or is it not the right link? Thanks Tori and Christine for the design and tutorial! I love that you showed with both a single piece and 2 pieces. And yes that is such a cute coaster:)
