I'd recommend Dopethrone by electric wizard. Classic stoner doom.

This album is incredible but the track feedbacker pt 2 is just way above that level.
For me it’s the greatest showcase of the potential of an electric guitar. All the stops were pulled.

To this day, Feedbacker pt 2 solo is still one of the most powerful moments in music

They perform this whole album as one 35 min song on their live album rock dream with merzbow. That version is one of my fav songs ever. It's insane how they can make already good music better live

you should definitely do a review of boris' pink or akuma no uta next. it's sound is way more accessible than flood and feedbacker.

Yeah can you believe Boris does actual songs too, not just album-length sound experiments?

I'd recommend listening to their album "Dronevil -Final-" (on youtube, since the concept of it is playing both discs at the same time : disc drone and disc evil. Some people uploaded it there so you can listen to it) it's more patient (barely over an hour with like an entire section of guitar drones) but is also genuinely the most intense album I've ever heard. Of course both of those are some of my favorite albums of all time personally. Great reactions btw !

I highly recommend checking out some Oxbow!! An Evil Heat is their best imo and I think it'd make for an interesting reaction... One of my favorite albums of all time. The Anatomy of Addiction by GOD is Kevin Martin & Justin Broadrick's best work. Both are must-listens.

I think this band is a pretty generic doom/drone metal band that people get romantic feelings for because they're Japanese. I've seen them live and it was meh.

    • @widespreadillness

I like this band, their early records were amazing like Feedbacker, Flood, Pink, Dronevil, Amp Worship, Heavy Rocks etc. But the records they've been releasing lately are just plain rubbish in my opinion. I don't like them because they're Japanese or anything, I just like the drone metal genre and I got into this band.
