In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. - Комедії

A rare occasion when they hint at something being off - "I don't know how much Iain weighs". The only reason Alex hadn't bothered to find out Iain's kg is because of the disqualification. Still, I am surprised every time
Good catch.
But it is tricky to sneakily weigh someone...
To me it sounded like a "So lets find out when we know the weight from the other team for drama" but that made me annoyed since weight can change over time :p
“Iain! How much do you weigh?” “What does that matter?!?!??”
I often like the very competitive contestants and the angry ones, too like Ed Gamble or Daisy but I’m glad Ian noticed he crossed the line here and actually apologised even when both Greg and Lou gave him a way out.
Siblings have 2 modes they are either a Lou & Iain or a Rob & Sara

Paul behind that barrel is me when my friends parents yell at them
Thank god daddy was there watching on from behind the barrell elevates this clip to legendary status
genuinely had me in tears when I first watched it
I love Joe's reaction at 5:14. I've said it before, but their initial awkward beyond belief meeting aside, Joe and Sian made a lovely team.
"I caught it! I caught it!" - as a video of her CLEARLY not catching it plays on screen.
Beautiful
Wouldn’t have mattered even if they had. No part of “falling out” requires hitting the floor
The saddest part is that if Iain and Lou had just gotten in the hammock and argued, it would’ve ended so much better.
A hammock is the cloth, which is why they usually hang between trees or something. This one just happened to have a hammock frame to go with it.
Exactly!
This is one of my favourite tasks in the whole show tbh. Pure chaos and Paul looked so clueless 😭
Greg had the right of it. Lou's eyes at 07:49 could have been an essay titled "I did NOT catch that, a confession by Lou Sanders."
"If I didn't catch it by Lou Sanders"
“I’m quietly confident ACTUALLY”
In the end misplaced confidence.
I have no idea why Ian started shouting right away. She asked him how much he weighed and he just went straight to "oh you want me to jump into the hammock right now!"
the stress of a 10 minute timer really makes people panic.
That’s very much Iain’s MO. He’s so determined to do well that he just takes action and doesn’t stop to think.
2:15 - 2:24 : Look at them all separately and it's like you're witnessing three completely different conversations at the same time XD
I feel really bad for Paul since he was pretty much in pain throughout a lot of the tasks.
Yeah, to think this series first came out the month he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s
@@TheBT Even apart from that the team tasks were filmed shortly after he had surgery on his shoulder
@@TheBT holy shit, really?

oh boo hoo
I have been Lou SO MANY TIMES in this situation.
Like can we just take 30 seconds to make a plan before screaming over each other and acting crazy 😂. And the Iains of the world just have no patience
I mean he was a right ol' prick about it but she wasn't much better, there was no real reason to stop Ian from looking for and gathering heavy things in the mean time. She could have discussed a plan with Paul and then filled Ian in on their thoughts while he's just bringing heavy stuff over. I'm all for making a plan but you don't need too many cooks in the kitchen to do that anyways. I've worked building concerts, stages, and just general construction, when I'm a lead on a project I have my hands/workers gather the materials I know I'll need while I go over the plans and figure out where I need people as we start building. That's the beauty of teamwork, everyone can contribute in their own way.
They would at least need Ian nearby to HEAR the plan so they’re on the same page at least. Like it only would have taken a few seconds. I just hate execution before thaught. @@donovanfaust3227
@@geckohunter123 would he not be near by after he's gathered things? He would literally have to bring objects back to them, he could listen at that point. It's not like he ran off and never came back. She didn't need him standing next to her in order to think of a plan, that's just time being wasted. If she was hoping he was going to brainstorm with her it wasn't necessary because he did already contribute to the plan which was to bring heavy objects over. Once again going back to my previous example, I don't have my workers stand around me the whole time while I come up with a game plan, I have them do what I know needs to be done, like bringing over material, then once that's done and I had a second to think I fill them in on it. It's really not a revolutionary concept and I don't know why you think it would be a worse way to do things when it's more time efficient.
@@donovanfaust3227the issue is point blank he wasn’t listening at all once the timer started. why would Lou assume if she brainstormed a plan by herself that he would stop and execute it? he had just yelled and ignored her for the tub AND the weight question. there’s no leader in this task, so your example doesn’t really apply here, this is more like a class group project where one of your classmates goes rogue.
She was off her rails with her Karen complex. No way they could have achieved anything with one of those women in your team. Especially if they don't just plain ignore her.
Oof, some divided comments here. Let's all just agree that Paul was lovely

The bathtub was a clever idea, then they gave up on it.
Bathtub under the hammock, then all 3 climb into the hammock, and cause of the tub, they wont fall out.
I remember Paul saying during one task that he hoped no one from the chase was watching it. I really wish we saw a behind the scenes shoot of the chase where they gave him their reaction
It was his epic 'conceal yourself in the phone box' fail
The chase?
@@bgeese1918 it's a popular quiz show in the UK, which Paul is most well known for
It's funny how the 3-team just froze in time when the time was up.
Even the guy in the hammock stopped moving that yellow thing.
If they can argue the hammock on the floor still a hammock, Taskmaster could argue that at 5:24, she was on the hammock and the "fell" out by steep off of it.
that disqualification was just rubbing salt in the wound lmao
I have been in one escape room lifetime and it went exactly like the team of 3 😂 1 Minute in and ppl were running around the place shouting we have to touch everything with me just standing there trying to come up with a Plan 😜
This Task is not iconic because of the task itself but because of Iain’s behavior.
That Lou woman is awful. She ended up being the most unpopular contestant. She was being a twat. Iain was just exasperated
@Laura ha ok. Not how I saw it. Women get away with behaving like her because men are made to feel like bullying abusers for contradicting them. Iain had no reason to castigate himself in the studio and if both to blame, why didn’t she apologise?
Lou does apologise in the recording for the the initial argument, and obviously Ian realises in hindsight back in the studio. Not every contestant is going to be your cup of tea, but rarely do they have no redeeming qualities
@laura7364 'spoiled and obnoxious'
And, back in reality, no one thought that anything particularly contentious happened.
Not Lou, not Iain, not the crew.
@Laura It was so painful watching them

Joe unlocking the cod mystery box at 00:24 lol

I like Sian Gibson a lot. She is witty, cute and radiating love. Most of these people are nice, but she is my (not so) secret (anymore) favourite :)
Haha, this is like watching the apprentice board room self justifications
The door opening at 0:24 sounds exactly like start of the COD zombies mystery box
I'm aware of who ended up winning the season.
Aside from Paul, seeing Lou and Iain disqualified was the most satisfying Non-Joe Thomas moment from Series 8.
Joe's rant is still number one overall, and followed by his performance on the train tracks.
They missed that very convenient Cast Iron contraption in the background.
has Greg ever been at the task master house until just then ??
Ah yes, the double 'L'd 'Barrell'
he was so close to putting the hamock in the bathtub then putting stuff into the hamock
Since the rules say nothing about removing or moving the hammock, I would pick it off the support structure and put it on the roof - but reverted, so that the inside of said hammock is facing the roof shingles. Technically, theres now a house in the hammock; i just turned everything upside down. Unfortunately, I have no idea how the minions are now gonna figure out the weight.
W=mg
House and the whole earth beneath the hammock would have weight the same as the hammock.
If only they would've put the hammock upside down in the floor
Now the entire earth is on the hammock
Question. How much earth weights?
Weight=mg
Task was about weight not mass.
Looking at it now, shouldn't the team of two also have been disqualified?
Joe Thomas is in the hammock, and the later he walks around finding a tyre.
I would have taken the hammock off, rolled the trailer onto it and called it a day. No risk of falling out, multiple hundred kilos and the taskmaster allowed taking the hammock off.
Can you roll the trailer and can the whole base of it fit on the hammock
@@marinvracevic the trailer is small enough to roll by hand and I would argue as long as both wheels are on it counts.
When Greg asks whether it’s in a hammock or on a hammock, I keep thinking that in Spanish there wouldn’t be a difference. « En la Hamaca »
Sobre la hamaca.
Arriba de la hamaca.
lol “the barrel dad.”
Empty barrels. Great plan
Oo you're right if they had filled them with water they would've been perfect
It looks like Sian and Joe broke something glass before they started lifting the bathtub. Any speculation as to what happened there?
I think it might be a sheet of ice from the tub.
I would have just had all the contestants lie on the hammock together
Anyone else desperate to see the chaos of Brian Blessed and Miriam Margolyes on this show together?
Oh Iaian
It would have been better to argue that the book was dropped from her hand and never made it onto the hammock than that she caught it. But alas, it was not to be. 😉
They put the bathtub on the hammock and then removed it, though
Oh no
At around 5minutes, Joe and Shawn put a tub in the hammock and then take it out. Wouldn’t that disqualify them too?
I guess taking something out of the hammock is different from something falling off the hammock.
I’d argue that they never physically released the tub into the hammock. It only made contact
Yeah they never actually put it down in it they were holding it above
Front door sounds like the mystery box in CoD
Sian and Joe should've gotten disqualified too since they stepped on and off the hammock while placing the tub 5:25
But they didn't fall out of the hammock, they electively chose to disembark
@@47Jaspers I would say they were a victim of their own successful argument here. If sitting on top of the hammock which was lying on the ground counts as "in" the hammock, then leaving the top of it would count as "out" and "fall" would be an appropriate definition for a transition between "in" and "out" considering there was a height difference between the top of the hammock and the ground (no matter how small). Electively or not does not affect the fact that it's a transition between in and out that loses height.
Admittedly that's an extremely finely detailed definition, but as I said at the start, so was their argument for the definition of "in"
How they all get an idea to use empty barrels?
PLEASE-UH
Dude... is that literally the music from Dead By Daylight? (During the initial opening, particularly the "opening chest" sounds."
I don't understand why Ian had to be "sneakily weighed". Surely he'd stand on the scale when asked?
Sure, but as someone else pointed out, the team was going to be disqualified and Alex knew that at the time of the task. Weighing Ian would've actually been a waste of time and effort.
I think the idea was if he was aware he was being weighed then he would carry weights or have a big meal to appear heavier.
Alex seems to be averse to weighing people. There have been other tasks where weight mattered, a contestant used his/her own body, and Alex didn't get the person's weight. The one with the tree bagging/netting machine comes to mind.
It seems to me that it would be better to weigh the contestants at the time of the task (not air that bit) and then give a total weight of everything. That would give Alex proper amounts and anyone sensitive about their weight wouldn't have to announce it.
@@MeowMeowMeowX3333 not if they weighed them right then and there (it would also be the most accurate, considering they'd be wearing the exact clothes that they'd worn in the hammock) - surely they have a scale on hand?
I agree with Ed Gamble, if Ian hadn't of been so disgusted with himself over his behaviour here in the Studio than he probably wouldnt have been so hated online as barely anyone would have cared/noticed

See everyone here is blaming Ian, when I just know if I had to work with someone lime Lou we would come to blows pretty damn quick. "Get heavy things near the hammock then finalise the plan" seems a much better idea than "stand around talking with our very limited time"...

He was a petulant brat throughout the entire season.
👍🤣👍
Ian was probably the most annoying contestant in the history of the show. Still, at least he apologized and showed some humility. I know I've had to deal with a few people who behaved like him that never had that type of self awareness
Are you serious? Lou's the one who keeps screaming at Greg and Alex whenever she gets a lower score than she thinks she deserved. Iain on the other hand, wanted to play the persona of "bad guy" during the early episodes, but was completely mortified when he realised it backfired on him.
@@blackdragoncyrus Totally Agree, Lou should not have won this season. She acted like a spoilt child demanding points.

I agree with the others, I'm sure Lou is a great person, but she didn't click with me right and is my least favorite TM contestant, didn't like at all seeing her win the series
Little Alex Horne should be in big trouble for not doing a basic part of his job: recording the outcome of the task. You don't conduct a task based on "the most weight" and then let the contestants walk off with a large portion of that weight without weighing it.
I wonder about the format of this show. Are they taking up residence in the house while filming? Do they have a bedroom for a year as long as they do these ridiculous tasks?
They film these when they all have time to do it.
Ian & Lou are my two least favorite contestants (so far). They are both embarrassingly childish in this task.
Well Lou was definitely in the right here, but yeah, there's probably about 5 contestants in the history of the show I outright disliked, and Iain and Lou are two of them.

I do think people went WAY overboard with their reaction to this and I doubt it was the producers intention. Yeah Iain got a bit narky but it’s over a silly task involving a hammock and barrel that he wanted to win and I can imagine Lou, hilarious as she is, can be a tad frustrating to work with in a scenario like this.
I tend to find that people who constantly say "calm down" are themselves anything but and that the use of the phrase makes me want to physically attack them.
I kinda hate to say it, but every time I work on a project with men, it goes like the first group. Doesn't matter if I've done all the work or research, am the most knowledgeable, or put in the most time. :0 :0 I'm not saying anything directly. But maybe a little bit indirectly... :0
That said, I adore this show!!!
Ahhhhh, the task that made me stop watching this series. Definitely the worst of the 14 IMO
I think the team of 2 should also have been disqualified.. At the beginning the bathtub was on/in the hammock after which they placed it back on the floor.. 0 points for everyone!
Ian RIGHTFULLY should be ashamed of his agressive, controlling behavior. As he said, it was a true insight, and not a positive one.
Nobody is perfect, least he acknowledged it, most people these days ignore it. I bet you've behaved in ways you aren't proud of in your past.
We should all be aware of our faults. Like how some kick others when they are down so they can be self rightious.
