Man, it may be a pikachu and a Fox, but you almost feel like they play so similarly in style. Just straight up scraping with so many quick and small hitboxes thrown around.

HugS had a breakout this tournament but he's definitely not consistent enough to be thrown into "god" status. Same with Wizzy, who's super consistent but not really powerful enough overall. Plup and Leffen are fairly consistent and really good, Axe is similar to Wizzy where he just needs to up his overall game a little, enough to take out the gods more.
No, hugs had a favorable bracket for his style of play. Axe simply became victim of his own anxiety - which was just a guess at 1st but then he admitted to it on twitter. he's not calm in the clutch right now. Coming down on Fox? lol.

Also apparently its hard for pikachu to edgeguard mario. Yeah, so axe doesnt go pikachu on fd vs mang0s mario because he doesnt want to give him the satisfaction of winning.

He definitely didn’t start out as a Mario main(Mario was just a sandbag character he’d mess with); he was a jiggs player first and was the first player to really win with the character, so Jiggs went up on the tier list to as high as 3rd, I believe, because of his contributions. As for falco, mang0 started playing him really early in his career against other falcos, because he hated the falco puff matchup. He’s been pretty ride-or-die with the bird for over a decade (except his brief fox ditto master phase). Fox was considered the best character by the time mang0 started maining him, but no one really won anything significant with any kind of consistency until mang0 started between 2012-2014. You can’t really hate him for his character choices, because he innovates and proves himself with each of them - not playing them just because they’re good, but because he enjoys them.
