Can't get enough of your military surplus videos. I think I might enjoy them more than you two living them! Thanks for all your efforts. I wouldn't leave my stuff unattended either. Human nature as it is. Great vid and the flag was a nice touch. Gabriel, you are a fine young man with a great Dad, and as for you sir.....thank you for your service.
Many thanks for coming along with us, W ALERONE. Gabriel is a fine young man and we are very proud of him. Thank you for taking time to watch and comment W! - Curry
Great video guys. Happy 244th birthday to the Marines! and a thanks again to all the Veterans and those currently serving. My dad served in the Army, Sergeant 1st Class 5th Army Engineering Corps. That tent looks great, always considered buying one. I have the Eureka TCOP. Like how you were able to convert the Stanley into a percolator, awesome! God Bless.
Thank you and happy Veterans Day! Sgt. 1st Class is an E-7, your dad made a career (or almost did) out of the military! Way to go! If you need a larger option than what the TCOP can provide this is the ten to get. It's made of the exact same materials, only different manufacturers. Adding the basket to the Stanley allows for quick and easy coffee. Thanks for watching and commenting, Jeff!
Iam going to have to get me a few of those UCO lanterns with some beeswax candles, I camped out in 17 degree weather with my 4 piece USGI SLEEP SYSTEM, and stayed cozy warm , I did use the bivy but I think the black bag and bivy is all I need here in TN , I was actually getting hot , I think I will use the green bag for a pillow next time , great camp out for Veterans Day and see y’all on The next video
I think we are going to get the UCO Candelier to use in this tent. The two candles made a difference but I want it warmer as I tend to sleep colder, much colder than Gabriel. His idea of warm and my idea of warm are as far as east is from west! One thing we do agree on with these candles is that it all but eliminates condensation. Thanks for taking a moment to watch and comment, OD!
Yea I seen the candlelier and you might be interested in this video on how to convert it over to an oil lanterns. ua-cam.com/video/3WONJDTALac/v-deo.html
51% of my gear heart belongs to the Diamond Brand USMC 2 Man Combat Tent, the other 49% is straight TCOP. Honestly, the 2 Man is pretty much the TCOP just made for two and it is just as much of a tank as the TCOP.
Hey fellas, Outstanding cold weather video. Those Polartec fleece jackets are great. I am wearing mine, right now. I use it as an insulating layer, under my Gen-iii goretex. You might want to include a link for the fleece. -LB
We picked these up at a thrift store for 15$ (7.50 a piece brand new with tags) and love these things. We've discovered that stray embers wreak havoc on these fairly easily. That said, we love them, they are warm fleece jackets. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, Lovell!
It really was just a short time ago that I'd say "come on bud, keep up!" Now he's saying "come on Dad, keep up!" The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head. We've never left the river wishing we had been somewhere else. Thanks for watching and commenting, Blaine!
Hello there Roberts Buscrafter's! Just subscribed to your channel. Happy Birthday Marine! Today isn't my birthday but it is my 40th wedding anniversary. Always thought it was cool that we got married on the birthday of the Corps. Love the videos I've had a chance to watch so far. I started with the TCOP video and watched it just before I purchased one. Watching this video makes me wish I had purchased the two man instead. My grandson sometimes is my hiking partner and it would work well for us I think. Eyeing one now on Sportsman's Guide for $152.00. Might be an early Christmas present. Keep these excellent videos coming and Semper Fi!
Semper Fi, Steve! Happy wedding anniversary and may you be blessed with many, many more! As Gabriel mentioned in the video this is our go-to tent when he and I tent together. We'll carry this when we want to share the pack weight and lighten the load we each haul in. Two can fit in that TCOP but two can more comfortably fit in the 2 Man. The 2 Man is made of the exact same materials as the TCOP, it's the bigger brother with an attitude, and it's worth every penny in my opinion. If you like that TCOP I think you'll like the 2 Man just as well especially if you need more room. Thanks for watching, Steve and I hop you and your grandson put many miles behind you.
Lol I noticed you are wearing the gen 3 l3 fleece sweater, I have one and iv worn in down to rags pretty much, it sure took a beating loading and unloading 14 foot frozen solid logs all last winter, only reason I dont wear it anymore is because I was too close to my stoves element cooking bacon and it melted the zipper track, plus my wife hates it and calls it my ugly sweater lol it's got ember burns and stuff lol best 40 buck I've ever spent on a sweater,I'd like to get the usmc quarter zip grid fleece one, I can only find them on ebay though
Embers really stuck to ours and made the nicest little burns you could imagine, we should've seen that coming and put on an overcoat. These are super warm and we are going to get a few more in coyote brown. Keep an eye out on Facebook Marketplace, here in the states it has been a gold mine for us as we could fine great gear at far better prices than Ebay.
@@robertsbushcraft lol I dont ever see mil surplus on fb marketplace unless it's cheap Chinese knock offs for airsoft, I can get another gen 3 l 3 fleece from my closest mil surplus shop but it 450km away, not sure what that is in miles but it's crazy far just to pick up one sweater so I usually go with ebay n pay extra for shipping and duty fees
We might just add a hunting video or two this season. Hopefully we'll be able to get out a little more now that football season has ended. Thank your for watching and leaving us a comment, HUNTSMAN!
It's a great tent my dimond tent was in my house when it caught fire. But because I had footprint the footprint was destroyed. The tent made it through the fire.
Whoa! If that's not reason enough to get the groundsheet I don't know what is! I am sorry to hear that your house caught fire and I hope that no one was injured. Thank you for watching and leaving us a comment, Billy!
It's awesome gear, isn't it? That ground sheet is going to end up on the Christmas list this year. Amazon will occasionally put the Stanley Adventure cook set on sale for less than $10, keep an eye out, they are well worth the money. Thanks for taking time to watch and comment, Michael!
It is. But as with anything, enough heat and flame and almost anything can be consumed. We try to keep the tents away from the fire to reduce to changes of damage from flame and sparks.
The tent is made in NORTH CAROLINA that’s why you love it lol. I had a dome tent from Diamond brand and it was awesome too.
Being made right here in NC sure does help favor the opinion! That said, this tent is bombproof!
Outstanding I remember watching your videos when you were this tall.
Currently, Gabriel is 6'2" 225 and a beast on the football field. Thanks for watching and commenting with us over the years, thorsbeat!
