Like how about the Z fighters spare Some of the members of the Ginyu force and imprison them instead, ( which may seem far fetched but I recall the Z fighters insisting to spare the members of the Frieza force in RoF) later they escape during a fight with Frieza and say they want to fight for him, but instead Frieza kills them for their weakness, and maybe even Ginyu as a frog witnesses this, the Ginyu force then contemplates this in the other world and I'll let you take it from here Masako.

What if Goku's pod landed on Roshi's island instead of near Grandpa Gohan?

Roshi had to train to blow up the moon so by the time goku transforms for the first time roshir would still be rusty and would just have to fight the ape so if anything roshi would have to defeat the ape over and over again to survive the night amd that would give goku a lot of zenkais wich in tern would make roshi stronger and back and forth

@@ojpickle5923 He wouldn't be rusty at all, actually. He'd be training Goku, and people learn better when they teach. Blowing up the moon wouldn't be hard. Roshi would probably be even stronger in this hypothetical timeline, albeit not by enough to make a huge impact
Love Piccolo as main character, and exploration of Namekian lore is appreciated. Maybe we'll even discover that dusty old book Shenron mentioned.

Weren’t Frieza's forces finding Namekian Villages by searching for local power levels on the Scouters? I thought that’s why Krillin and Gohan had to suppress their power levels when they fist saw Frieza and his men.

I dont think slightly weaker Goku actually makes a difference. With the Kaioken x2 +1 he's still stronger than Ginyu, and everything he needs against Freeza came from that ungodly zenkai he got after fighting Ginyu.

Also Masako kinda overlooked the fact that Goku was able to travel with Krillin and Piccolo, which would make the training more effective than his solo montage, and would at least make up for the missing days.

with this piccolo growth hes got going on, i could see his fusing with nail bringing him to absolutely astounding levels of power.
Picolo becoming the hero instead of Gohan is very intriguing. I really wanna see him keep pace with the saiyans.
What if King Kai taught piccolo and the other Z Fighters the Kaio Ken in the namek saga
I love having a Piccolo-centric story. He's probably my favourite at this point. Hopefully you can make more soon. I really want to keep up with this one. I want to see how far he can go, maybe actually compete with the heavy hitters instead of getting knocked out in the mid-point all the time.
Great What If. To respond to your last question, I would love to see the focus remain on Piccolo. He's one of my most favourite characters in Dragonball and it always irritated me how he and the humans were left in the dust by the Saiyans.
I'm pretty sure Tien's death against Nappa was his first death, but yes, Chiaotzu has been brought back once before and would've needed to be brought back with the Namekian Dragonballs.
you know massako it used to bother me that you would take forever to continue a what if but after watching other peoples atemts at what ifs ive realized that you taking extra time between parts just gives you time to perfect the story with no mistakes and while still holding the spirit of dbz
interesting. its also worth remembering that Guru's power boost isnt all at once. Krillin only initially went up to like 10k or something like that? but by the end of the arc he had gone up to 75,000. Gohan was getting that and Zenkais which is how he shot up so high. Piccolo should continue to grow stronger over the course of this arc from the boost too. Will his power go up in time to deal with the Ginyu Force when they (inevitably) get into the fray? :

Yeah I think Masako may have said Tien as well because there is no way he is going to allow himself to be revived with out Chaoutzu.
I had hoped that with the increased focus on Piccolo in your Raditz story, Piccolo would've received Guru's potential unlock just before the latter's death. Because Dende received a specific ability from the unlock, I think Piccolo would as well, something like accelerated strength gaining to keep up with the Saiyans.

I feel that in this what-if Nail might actually live to help fight Frieza. He and Piccolo's combined powers might prove useful. That, or realizing Frieza is to powerful, they decide to fuse like in the original timeline. But with Nail not on his last dying breath, might he become the dominant personality?

Piccolo deserves to be the focus of this What If. Piccolo traveling to Namek should have had a bigger influence on him instead of him just fusing with Nail. He didn't interact with enough of his fellow Namekians. I think this What If could cater well to Piccolo/Kami/Kamiccolo having a their own Namekian children after observing the culture of Namek in detail. Piccolo would love to have children that could be a brother figures for Gohan once he's revived. Kami would love to foster another generation of protectors of Earth. So if Kami wishes for his youth, then fuses with Piccolo, and they honor each other enough to give eachother equal control and influence over Kamiccolo rather Kami or Piccolo having complete control, since Kami is the "dominant" component even though it's a more mutual agreement, Kamiccolo would be a Dragon Clan Namekian, so he could definitively have offsprings of his own.
As per your question at the end of the video. Firstly this extra boost I think answers the question that some people have had, whether or not Nail had a boost at all of course he did or else he would be about the same as the lesser Namek warriors in the filler episode before he fought Freeza. I do think however that both of them would be in dire straits enough to fuse after a fight for Piccolo with Dadoria and Zarbon and for Nail still with Freeza. Piccolo being less injured senses Nail's plight and gets to him at about the same time they would’ve met in the original series and although the damage for both of them is grave their powers combined should be greatly increased possibly to double or triple what piccolo had gained originally.

@Sir Tristan yes it is quite similar but bulma is rich and snow is much kinder than chichi and bulma. Also with the help of android 8 goku might increase his power level from training with him. Thats what i want to see.
Kuze Hibiki and their gohan would be different as well, probably more combat focused like goku instead of a bookworm.

I love this. I love this so much. The journey of self discovery is one that I thought was sorely lacking in the likes of Goku, he just doesn't care about that sort of thing. But Picollo, reconnecting with his roots while also trying to revive the boy who taught him compassion that ultimately leads to redemption as he failed protect him the first time? Gimme!
what if bardock and gine left planet vegeta and planet hopped in cat&mouse playwith freeza while searching for earth and make it just before vegeta and nappa(2 stronger saiyan arrive)
I kinda hope Dodoria lives for some reason. I just like his character. Dodoria dies in every what if immediately and it just kinda bums me out personally. I feel like his hot-headed personality has potential for unique encounters. Like pissing off characters that would usually be pretty chill or being a lackey to the people that spared him. In the original story he pleaded to Vegeta to spare his life and that they would work together. We don’t know if he was serious or that he would just betray him immediately, but if he was serious that could be pretty interesting. He could be a spy for our heroes. Just sneaking around and getting info, maybe even snagging some dragonballs without a fight.

I like it being mostly based on piccolo, because hes in my top 3 of favorite characters. He has so much potential too.
With tien and chiaotzu already being revived before ? Tien only ever dies twice in all of dragon ball and z once to nappa and a second time when kid buu blows up earth

Interesting, I like seeing he onus on Piccolo. It's good to see him come to terms with his people and learn about his past. Honestly, this What If? series is going well enough that it feels like it is just as natural as the original story.

I’ve been a fan of your what if stories from the start and I don’t know why I’m just now thinking of it but i was just thinking about how awesome a Dragonball D&D session would be with you as the DM. I’m sure that’s already run across your table by now but I’m sure it would be awesome. Anyways. Can’t wait to hear more! I love these what if stories.

Here's an interesting what if. Since Poronga is clearly more powerful then Shenron by a WIDE margin. What if in GT, Poronga was summoned and tasked with combating the corrupted shenron directly? As in, a wish was made for poronga to actually take physical form and deal with his now batsh*t crazy brother shenron along side the heros in the same way sheron took lasting physical form as the shadow dragons. Now THAT would have made GT interesting.

in the manga, nail said he was impresed and could not imagine what kind of training piccolo did. piccolo is also a warrior type despite kami being a dragon clan (so, is not that nail is surprised cause he saw a dragon's clan namekian with warrior type namekian power level). Based on that, we can assume that piccolo stronger than nail.
Gohan better be training with King Kai, Tien, Chiaotzu and Yamcha. Maybe this time his maturity, knowledge and respect pushes King Kai to actually teach all of them them the basics of Kaioken. Dare I say, Gohan and Tien learn those basics BETTER than Goku because they pay more attention to the non-fight related details. Unfortunately due to the time frame we're dealing with (a week or two), they won't have any time to try it out properly, let alone master it.
The brief time spent training will hopefully open Gohan up to real interaction with the Trio-d'neglected characters and he'll be interested in maintaining those friendships further down the line. Especially with them all trying to master Kaioken.
I'm curious about Zenkai boosts being higher the closer you come to death. What kind of multiplier do you get for actually dying? I don't recall Vegita's revival doing much. As if actually dying negates it. But if Gohan does get one, which let's face it, would have been the case with the original writers, does he get it when he arrives in the after-life or when he's revived? Lets face it, He'll get what? a week training w/King Kai? Maybe two if you can drag out the Namek saga in some way.
Gohan training on king kai with 10X gravity, gets wished back and gets potential unlocked, healed by Dende= lots stronger in this version.
Tien first death at this point was the sayin saga. The only person they would need the namek dragon balls for is chiaotzu. Also earth dragon balls can bring back multiple people with one wish.
I like this video diffrent approach and piccolo is changed now is more open as an individual among others

They used kami's dragonball to revive everyone in namek (that is how they got guru alive)
yamcha, tien and Chiaotzu were resurrected much later, so at least year passed and they were still able to be resurrected

I think that Gohan should be training with King Kai in the otherworld with Tien, Yamcha, and Chaotzu. Plus, you could give Gohan the Kaioken.
absolutely, this may be the only way to keep the character develpment of Gohan in this storyline
It's great to see Piccolo getting some serious time on his home planet. This is so much more of a path of redemption for him, and learning about who he is and where he came from only furthers it. Gohan did benefit from his time on Namek, but I feel that his path could have been just as readily paved if he trains with King Kai and the others. Exploring Namek is a much more personal journey from Piccolo and I think he will benefit most from it!
Masako assuming that Goku arrives to Namek weaker because of the missing couple of days, but overlooks the fact that he went with Krillin and Piccolo both of which would at least make up for the lost training time.

What if Goku never made it to Earth? I've always wanted to see an alternate Dragon Ball universe where Earth's heroes have to fend for themselves without Goku to help them, similar to Universe 9 in Dragon Ball Multiverse.
In the Superman comics, Lex Luthor said that humanity's progress was held back by Superman, because he prevented mankind from solving problems on their own by being dependent on Superman. I think Luthor's statement is also true with Goku and the other Saiyans, since they always seems to bail out the Earth during the most dire of times.
Anyway, I think that would be a great What-If for Masako to do. Tons of different things could have happened. Grandpa Gohan would still be alive, thus Bulma would have a much stronger ally than Goku was at the start of Dragon Ball.

Awesome what-if as usual Masako. One issue: Zarbon's scouter should blow up at around 21,000, since later in the saga, Frieza got the improved scouter from the Ginyu force, that scouter would blow up at around 450,000. It wouldn't make sense if Zarbon has the improved scouter when Frieza didn't have one himself.

I just watched dragonball all the way through and I still haven’t seen them mention the 1 year time limit on resurrection. During the king piccolo saga they were going to use the dragon balls to take out king piccolo and wait another cycle to resurrect krillan. Is this just Toriama forgetting or what?
Though this is sort of unrelated to the What If as a whole, I think the idea of Dende and Cargo being brothers is that their eggs were made and/or hatched around the same time, thus having the connection of brothers happen between the two (a long with living together). It's likely less of who their parent is and more when they were made/hatched.
