I've watched Drawtectives many times and York is one of the best characters ever. Yorks deadpan humor is amazing
The "They're actually just shown how they each think of themselves" logic for their proportions is canon now, I've decided.
That way, their designs being much closer to each other's proportions in S2 can be seen to show that they've all grown closer to each other as a friend group/detectives-who-draw-stuff-for-people squad.
I would love to do something like drawtectives with my friends but I'm just starting to realise quite how much work julia put into all of this and I'm?? Baffled?? Just absolutely in awe of how hard Julia worked on all of this, and how much thought went into every part of this process and like? Wow. Mad respect
Since season two appears to be a train themed murder it would be funny if ogalvie was doing a train heist
In my D&D game last night we just killed a Hobgoblin and this little witch goblin was telling us stuff and we are all like "wat?". Turns out we went in EVERY room in the dungeon EXCEPT the ONE room we needed to be in. The DM's face when he realised. It was a lot of fun and everyone had a good time :)
I'm so moved that Nathan is questioning Grandma's gender. I know it kind of started as a bit, but the fact that you guys take that aspect of it seriously without losing the humor of it means a lot to me with my identity!
I feel like dwarves would be more tolerant of different gender identities solely because all dwarves have beards.
I love that Drawffee isnt just safe, they are just super inclusive cause they wanna when they aren't making abominations.
@@NotAGraveRobber oh even the abominations are inclusive. I felt very seen when Karina pointed out during a (very helpful and accurate) drawing tip that all enbies have werewolf claws.
@@lavendergrey2357 Well shit she's onto me
Do you have the timestamp for when he said that? The exact quote makes me very happy but I can’t find it
JULIA YOU'RE SO GOOD AT CHARACTER DESIGN!!!!
I honestly thought it was going to be Til Bogen until the very end ~ he looked different from the other officers and was the first to describe the body even though he said that they took the body before he came in. No clue why he would do it (I was holding out for more info), but maybe he used his weapon that was in its case so he could hide the evidence in plain sight. This was such a good game, and it makes me want to write my own RPG mystery game too! :) BTW ~ love all the little details Julia, you rock!
The details Julia put into all this is jaw dropping!
I LOVED this series. We need Julia not to get taken by demons or lose her immortality before the next season.
I'm a huge Criminal Minds fan so I have to say that in the Jason Alexander episode he admits to being the kidnapper immediately on being introduced. The episode is about if they can find his victims and blah blah blah from there but there's no false doubt about if he did it.
That sounds pretty unique! 🤯
Drawfee starts at
3:24
Didn't see one for this video so.. enjoy this masterpiece 💜
54:46 timestamp for me because this was my question :)
Guests I'm hoping or guessing might be involved:
- Willie
- Caldwell
- Brian Miller
- ProZD
- Carolyn
- Tony
- Jake Young
its so cool what julia can do... id buy an art book of her rooms an character designs
Julia literally designed a house to the T and made it incredibly detailed like it’s no biggie 🤯🤯
I am so damn excited for Season 2. I am SO SO DAMN EXCITED for season 2 y'all have no idea.
Jacob singing "A little bit of piss boy" killed me 😂😂😂
I absolutely love Rose's smile in the Hucky Heese drawing
JULIA APPRECIATION COMMENT 😭✊
I love how you can hear Nathan start saying “good stream” right at the end
So much loving care went into Drawtectives, and it's such an unforgettable work of art as a result
Im hoping for SungWon Cho (ProZD) and Brennan Lee Mulligan (Dimension 20) as guests for Season 2
Yea!!!
My first thought when they started taking about guests was that they've got to have Brennan on.
Your wish half came true!
@@nicknelson9542 let's see about brennan
I'm hoping they play vampire the masquerade to make their own room full of vampires
Yes!!!!!
Julia, your brain is incredible! The subtly details, clues, etc are just amazing! I love the decoration clue! The attention to detail is impeccable!
Karina's face while Julia's explaining the staircase is *sending* me
It basically took me until the last episode to realize that the whole series was Julia's version of an Ace Attorney game...
julia, you don't need blender or runes. just use the sims, minecraft (or any other building game), to build your sets, then take a picture at the angle you want, and then trace that and change all the things that aren't exactly how you want them in the picture.
Those are strictly grid based
@@mynameiskrysta Yes for minecraft but there's a cheat/mod in the sims that lets you move things off grid.
@@cl0vdy26 Sims is great. When I moved out, I used Sims to plan out where everything goes.
I would love the end card as a print, it made me so happy and now that I know all the details I love it more.
I made an audible excitement gasp when Nathan mentioned the Jason Alexander McDLT ad, one of my favorite things to make people watch, so happy right now
I always knew that Julia did an immense amount of work for this but I was unprepared for the level of detail. I can't express how much I appreciate this.
No one :
Me : *frantically searches for the "drawfin in-" comment bc I can't be bothered to find when stream starts*
Not just you!

I feel like drawtectives is more like Professor Layton but with drawings instead of puzzles
OMG YES THIS IS THE PERFECT EXPLANATION
i mean pretty much. avis and oglevee reminded me of Prof Layton because the style is ALL SHAPE, NO ANATOMY
oh ALSO just like Prof Layton, the first mystery is about the aftermath of a "rich man's" death who possesses a strange heirloom, and the second mystery is ON A TRAIN
@@solarprogeny6736 OMG 😱 COINCIDENCE??? I think not
@@gogo_crunchy8926 can't wait for season 3 to be in the fake future
My cousin's name is Ogilvy and it's so hilarious to hear them just dumping on the name.
Can yall like release high quality pictures of the rooms? Like the original drawings without any characters in them? I don't know if that exists already, I've looked briefly. I want to use that main hallway drawing as a laptop background
This was so incredibly interesting to watch. They really did answer a bunch of my lingering questions. I love Drawtectives so much and getting to see and better understand how it came to be is so wonderful
I'm just surprised Oglevee wasn't a reference to War of the Worlds.
(but fun fact: there was an ornithologist named William Robert Ogilvie-Grant, so "Oglevee" totally checks out as a bird-related name!)
Oh Sam Ug is Smaug. I was figuring for name shenanigans, but honestly, I was thinking of her as somehow being linked to Samus - badass girl type. Samus is a bounty hunter, and Sam Ug was an ex-criminal.
Not gonna lie, I thought it was a play on the word smug until Jacob said she was based off Smaug
i would SO love to have NaddPodds Jake, Murph or Emily as a guest for Season 2! (and Caldwell obviusly)
Someone should make the season 1 mansion in minecraft, I kinda really want to but it would take very long because I don't know how to begin lmao
start with a series of cubes
I love how everyone in the comments are like
*here the time, lads, enjoy*
Everyone is so wholesome
julia talking about the staircase runes was literally the scariest thing ive ever experienced
