The Guardian Of The Cause

Shoghí Effendi (1 March 1897 - 4 November 1957) was the grandson and successor of ʻAbdu'l-Bahá, appointed to the role of Guardian of the Baháʼí Faith from 1921 until his death in 1957.
He created a series of teaching plans that oversaw the expansion of the faith to many new countries, and also translated many of the writings of the Baháʼí central figures.
Shoghí Effendi was born in ʻAkká (Palestine, then the Acre Sanjak of the Ottoman Empire) with the name Shoghí Rabbání.
He was related to the Báb through his father, Mírzá Hádí Shírází, and to Baháʼu'lláh through his mother, Ḍíyáʼíyyih Khánum, the eldest daughter of ʻAbdu'l-Bahá. ʻ
Abdu'l-Bahá, who provided much of his initial training, greatly influenced Shoghi Effendi from the early years of his life.
It was Abdu'l-Bahá who insisted that people address the child as "Shoghi Effendi", ("Effendi" signifies "Sir"), rather than simply as "Shoghi", as a mark of respect towards him.

David Edward Walker ( Indianola, Seattle, Washington) is a singer-songwriter and poet.
David is a Licensed Psychologist and author of a book and articles on U.S. mental health systematic racism in Indian Country .
He wrote two award-winning novels: 'Tessa's Dance' and 'Signal Peak' (both published 2013) .
He is "no more and no less a Missouri Cherokee descendent ".
David started out musically in an art-fusion band in Detroit called Argos inspired by John Cage, Sun Ra, and prog rock.
Eventually he went the direction of song-poet and toured under the pseudonym 'David Folks,' garnering college airplay across the U.S.
He has been playing music for more than 35 years; did over 100 gigs, played Bluebird Cafe, Kerrville Folk Fest and shared the stage with Rodney Crowell, Richie Havens, Richard Shindell and many others.
A Michigan native, he performed and recorded around the Pacific Northwest, solo or with his band 'The Bonafides', while living on the traditional lands of the Suquamish Nation.
