We played a variation of that in McBand. Wanamaker called it the SC Shuffle but we had Jim Campbell the first few days in NYC and he told us some of the sticking was different from the way SCV played it.

I believe this to be the "base model 101" version that was on Snare Science when
that site was popular a few years back. I have a version of this on my channel
where I wrote a mallet part to go with the play-along track.

@@DennisJohnsonDrummer I played a version of this in the General Butler Vagabonds back in the 80s. I can’t
For the life of me remember what we called it,lol. 🎵

@@marial8235 Cool. I marched Spirit of Atlanta in 1980 and taught Southwind
in 1981 and 82 before graduating college. Then I had to get a real job- band
directing. Lots of great exercises out there. I'm thinking about pulling some
of the ones Tom Float taught us. Definitely more out there in print from the
recent years. Old guys like us only had the hand written stuff. No computers
or You Tube to pull from. Progress? Some yes and some no.

@@DennisJohnsonDrummer Lol. Our years just missed overlap, I was 82 fall (gbv didn’t field that year) and 83, 84, and 85 staff. You are right about the hand written stuff. My college instructor began to use software in the late 80s which was a real revelation, especially since I have bad eyes.
