I'm 17 and a senior in high school and everytime I show someone this they laugh at me and think it's stupid. The reality is that it was just the product of the time. And I like it.
Congratulations for not being an insecure herd bound 'sheeple' . It might be fun if you dared one of your detractors who think it's stupid to try a just a few a basic steps :-).. it is not as easy as.those dancers are making it look and you have to have to be very physically fit , have extremely strong thigh and butt muscles , be well coordinated and have great lung capacity.

A lot of the moves done by the dancers here are NOT Standard swing dance moves, but are of their own invention, like the pair who shake, and the pair whose male partner plays pitty pat on his partners bent over body, and the couple who joined hands and air guitared some of the music while dancing. It Is a great show, just needed some real Boogie Woogie music!!

No doubt if I don't dance for a while I get so sore I can hardly move the next day.I literally use every muscle in my body and it is so stress relieving too.

well we have americans but europe is here, paris, germany and this is russia. to say twerking is dancing is ugh. Join a dance club...or go to studio and pay.. ITS CALLED JIVE. WELL its swing, jitterbug, etc. But the teacher will know what you mean. International champion ballroom is from England.
It's just that US culture seems to hit the U.K. a bit late. You can tell because rockabilly hit in the 80s and the U.K. gangs look like they're still in the mid to late 2000s.
