I have been a sprinkler fitter for 40 years now retired and have never used or heard anyone use the ceiling brace. Interesting, never too old to learn.
that brace is cool....I used it for holding level tee's when I'm soldering together something like a manifold or something that is created before it's installed. it's like an adjustable finger that won't burn easily...lol
lots of cheap imitations out there but the Rigid is tried and true..been a pipe welder for 18 years and use it all the time... however the only reason i looked up this video was to find out what the hell that screw was for.. another £1 for you my friend
I too was here for the very reason to find out wth the screw thingy was for. I'm an electrician and I have never needed it while threading conduit but I figured it was for the welders or some other trade. I have never got an answer on that thing until now.
Also the video should mention when using the Ceiling Brace Screw the Ceiling Brace Screw can begin to loosen while the 460-Tristand is in use thereby allowing the pipe that is being forced against the ceiling to fall and potentially cause injury or death. Additionally the video does not show the correct method to take down (collapse the legs). Otherwise this is a good video.
I used this vise for many years and never new what that estabilizer was for untill now. Love this clip. This brand is top notch.

Same here, Been a Pipewelder for 15y and used this tripod every day. I always hooked my ground to it haha
It's great if you have to make in an akward piece of pipe to stop the tripod rocking about
