Updating the Percentage will be automatically done based on the percentage calculation. IF you want the percentage to be calculated of total value and you done want the total value to be filtered out using filters then you need to update calculation and use context filter to fixed calculation to get the desired result. Please go through tableau order of operation help.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/order_of_operations.htm Hope that helps Cheers! Gurpreet
Hi, can you tell me how to connect the FIXED functions and the ability to quick filter charts? Unfortunately, this function seems to be blocking the filtering and I still get the same values
Hi, thats a great question. If you are using LOD as filters then you need to follow order of operations in tableau. Example- lets say you are using 2 filters i.e. one Dimension filter and other is fixed LOD filter. in that case Dimension filter will execute first and then the LOD filter. But if you want LOF filter to be executed first then you need to remove the dimension filter. check our the below link for details. hope that helps :-) help.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/order_of_operations.htm
Column and row calculations were not required but i have added to make it clear how the row and column calcs work. Random x and random y are used to randomly plot the values in each bar so they are not placed on top of each other
Placement of these shapes is random based on the random function used in X and Y Coordinates. However you can try playing with the coordinates calculation to arrange them in sorted order. Hope that helps.
In newer updates there is no longer a random() function, is there another way to reproduce this? I've found some random number generator ideas online but they don't really work for the purpose of this chart. Thanks in advance!
Hi Cameron, i am currently using 2021.2 and can see random() function working fine in the calculation. Which tableau version you are currently using. Please try to update to latest version and try again. Hope that helps Cheers!
@@cameronchurch7766 Thanks for sharing that. Thats a great finding. Always love this tableau community as everyday i learn new things. Thanks once again :-)
The Most Underrated Channel for vizs 🙌🙌🙌 keep it up man
Thanks 🙏
Holy moly this is amazing! Thank you!
Thanks Arpit 🙏
Absolutely stunning visual.
Thanks 🙂
awesome chart - can we apply filters to this chart
Yes you can apply filter to this chart.
This is awesome! How can I make the percentages update with filtering?

Really Outstanding
Thanks !
That was great. Where did you learn how to create such a chart?
Thanks 🙏 Tableau community is awesome in sharing knowledge and I learn everyday new thing from them 😊 and jitter bar chart is one of them

Can someone explain why we create random x and random y and also column and row calculated fields
Column and row calculations were not required but i have added to make it clear how the row and column calcs work. Random x and random y are used to randomly plot the values in each bar so they are not placed on top of each other
Is there a way to sort regions by size to show regions with more sales on the top and regions with less sales in the bottom
Placement of these shapes is random based on the random function used in X and Y Coordinates.
However you can try playing with the coordinates calculation to arrange them in sorted order. Hope that helps.

@@DataVizCanvas I discovered the issue. The random() function only works for extracts and not live data connections.

@@DataVizCanvas Same here. thanks for the great viz, my team loved this idea and I recommended your channel for other ideas!
