I got my p900 like 5 years ago maybe and i use it mainly for its zoom ( bird watching and moon shots) . I never use it for video recording . The difference in zoom quality is minimal but price difference between these two are huge. I was thinking to upgrade from p900 to p1000. Maybe i will just wait for the next lineups.
It’s a tricky one, it’s due a refresh but the market is a bit dead so Nikon doesn’t look to pushing one out. I’m hoping they might rework things using some Ai that the newer Mirrorless ranges are incorporating. Photos wise I think you are set with the P900.
I use p900 for 5 years, then upgrade to p1000,used it for 2 and half year ,but now im back to p 900,its small easy to carry around, its like an ak camera😂
Heya kill pop, I’m not sure it’s quite as straight forward as that, I would say the extra length and weight of the P1000 means the stabilisation had more to do and in that aspect it might not compensate as well.
@@SuperZoomVideos But I'd say if Nikon are going to go to X mm then make sure the image/vid is as stable as prior P versions. To me the lighthouse moves more with the P1000 in percentages of its own size than it does with the P900.
@oislek34 rightly or wrong I got the 1000 because it was a good price and iirc there was no definite winner. Only thing I can add is there is a big weight transfer when zooming to to long end. Even knowing what's coming, hand held , the camera dips down as you zoom to long focal length so little chance staying on target. At 1 year ago the VS is All vague history tho.
I am planning to get one between nikon p1000 and p 900 ...could you suggest which one to go for since p1000 is way expensive for that 42x extra optical zoom My main concern is optical zoom only..is it worth that much? In vidoe, it did nt looked that of a difference when zoomed at max Since, you have tested both..would like to know your honest opinion
Hi Troy, You are right in saying the difference is negligible, its there but most people wont need it. The biggest difference for me is the 4K and Raw and the fact that the P900 has essentially been discontinued. At this stage I would say go with the P1000 or P950 just because they are a little more user friendly (keep in mind now geo tagging on either) unless you can pick up a cheap or second hand P900.
A good comparison my friend. I started with the P900, but sold it in favour of the P1000 because I really liked the RAW capabilities in still photography. To me, the P1000 is a good 'all round' camera, though maybe a little heavy to carry around all day. That's why it stays mainly in my studio for music vids! I have a much lighter Nikon D300 to carry about. Though elderly now, it is still a great camera that even professionals use . .Have a great weekend my friend . .
Bro, you scare me. Unless you use prime lens on your D300 - it is heavy already, at least with my Nikon 18-200 zoom lens. I'd rather go for a P900 then, minor image difference is not worth money or hassle to haul that dumbell of a P1000 around. ⛔
both cameras can zoom way more than that. They zoom in so close you be able to see the barnacles open their mouths when the tide comes in. Or so close you could see the cracks in the paint. Why under sell them?
You name and I’ve probably seen it. First time using my P900 I was zooming in on a guy on a paddle board while I was on a cliff, turned out I was on a cliff overlooking a nudist beach 😐
Good comparison, i have kodak az1000 pixpro, 102x optical 2000mm focal and 408x digital zoom, if possible make a comparison all three for see different sensor and component, is very cheaper for price, but i m very interesting about see difference with nikon, bye
Heya Alex, unfortunately it’s just me and the two Cameras but you can make some pretty straight forward assumptions on the sensor size. Pretty small on the P1000/950/900 so it suffers a bit in low light
Do you go around disproving things just by declaration like Santa, tooth fairy, Easter bunny, gnomes etc? Seems a bit much. Prove the earth curves without a fisheye lens. @@ravenmoon1165 Bro, you're preaching to a converted, I'm a flat earther myself. You obviously misunderstood my post. JB usually have them on sale from time to time, worth keeping an eye on.
Just saw another of your vids and thinking the same even more now. Is the P1000 stabilisation actually inferior to the P900?

You would go for 950 or 1000. Talk to a dealer and recommend the 950 because smaller and also better stabilized. You don’t need a pole unlike the 1000

Nice as always, would you say the P1000 is a good step up from the P900? Seems to have a good digital zoom. Not much difference
Its just way easier to use with the exception of the size causing it to be a little more shaky.
@@SuperZoomVideos it's so heavy it broke the first tripod I bought for it lol

P1000 best for detailing
Yessir!
P900 much more stable and P1000 doesn't offer anything better except shakes a lot more.
The video quality is definitely better but my editing software upscales a bit
Quality wiss p1000 is just slightly better but Why is p1000 is shaking so abruptly than p900.?
My crappy free handing of the camera combined with a longer zoom which makes the small vibrations extra vibratey
P1000 nice work, thenks.
