Husband was really strategic in handling the situation. He protected and basically demanded his wife to be respected, while at the same time schooling the lady. All this was done in love;AND he made sure to keep his professional reputation intact by contacting HR first! Yes yes yes! Self control, love, gentleness! I am happy you guys had a good end of this story and I will definitely take your advices.
Rosa Parks said no.She wasn't moving to the back of the bus. She took a stand. Christians need to take a stand.
Anne Mulcahy completely agree!! ✊🏻
Remember, love does see colour. It just doesnt mind or care
Oh my Gosh, best response to that ridiculous statement....thank you.
💯
G • Dèsireè _729 I would even take it one step further and say that love sees color and appreciates it. 👌🏻
@@TheColeLife I like that one 👏🏽
@James Buttler Dude, just go away....nobody cares about this bs you're over here with! 😕🙄🤫😒
Go spout that nonsense on videos of black men dating white women....but I bet you won't!
Too many of you black men have no problems with other black men dating interracially, but will talk down to a black woman who does!
When your partner steps up as your supporter and protector hes a keeper🙂
I loved that Brian addressed the situation but contacted HR before he did it. Once you are protected then you let that person know that they are DEAD wrong in the most professional way possible. I do believe as Christians some of us do believe when confrontation arises we should walk away, but personally I believe that I can still be a follower of Christ and stand up for myself. I love y'all and how you guys don't stay silent and use your experiences to be a teaching lesson to others.
Johnnese P thank you! We really appreciate your comment. And granted, there can be situations that we possibly should walk away from, but there are many times when that is not the case and it takes skill to properly handle a situation and demonstrate Gods love while doing it. ✊🏻
This is why I mess with y'all!!! We canNOT be silent AND there IS a way to go about having the much needed conversations!
Jená Emily Utley ayyy ohhh!!! 😂😂😂 love you guys too!! 🙌🏻✊🏻
The way you guys handled the injustice with that co worker was FANTASTIC. Yes, it was your husband 's place to take the lead, I am an RN and usually the only person of color at any given period of time. I have dealt with behaviors like that my entire career and more times than I can count had to make a stand. As a result I am respected by my peers. Don't ever be afraid to be comfrontational during injustice, Being quiet does mean you agree, You guys are so young that I wish we could have given you a better world and did not have to deal with this sort of thing.
Ahhh, your relationship is so refreshing to me. I love that you’re so transparent with your experiences. Literally my favorite couples channel. Thank you for sharing yourselves. You’re the example of the relationship/marriage I hope to gain in my future!
I love this couple, their for real!!!!!
Aftin Warren wow!! Thank you so much. That is so beautiful. We have to be transparent and create conversations others are afraid to have before we can expect to help people or change our culture/environment. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻😃
I love you guys! My boyfriend and I are a bi-racial couple. I am dark-skin , he is European. We experience racism , although I must admit , because we’ve been together for four years, I do not pay attention to it. I Almost forget it happens. However , when it happens to me based, particularly on my color , he always offends me. It hurts, but I am so use to it , (my whole life) that I kind of brush it off or become blind to it . But my boyfriend , gets upset and hurt, and he likes to speak up, and likes for me to speak up because he says , it can make a change. He tells me about Dr.Martin Luther King. How he made change passively , but he spoke up. I really admire you two, you guys are a powerful couple of the LORD. Very beautiful couple. And you are so gorgeous Alexis. Your smile is so pretty, your hair is vivacious. You both inspire me.
We are believers as well.
I love Jesus Christ
I agree with your boyfriend when things come up it's an indication you must address it because the issue will become stronger and stronger. Once you make a stand, and address it, it's like saying I matter period. It instills so much confidence that you stop it in it's tracks, and also the incidents become less. Also you pay it forward so that they will think before they try this with someone else.
My biggest wish is to data a white guy please if you know someone please contact me
Racist people are narrow-minded!!!!
@@karensimmons4560 and lonely
Monaé Ministries For Jesus I can definitely understand where you’re coming from. We’ve experienced so much, it would be easy for us to just stop paying attention to it and let things slide. But I have to agree with your boyfriend - God has put you both in a unique position to affect change and be the catalyst for shifting a culture and horrible mentality. If you won’t do it, someone who directly experiences racism, then who will? Trust me, it is almost easier just to say nothing and keep it moving but we are not helping people by doing that. You have the ability to be used by God, IN LOVE, to enlighten and educate people and help them see this world how it should be seen.
Thank you SO MUCH for this comment. Would love to hear more of your thoughts in future videos. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙌🏻
I think the confrontation was good and professional, it's important to educate people on racism and let people know that it's not okay, good job
Kristy Parsons thanks and amen! 🙌🏻😂
The beginning of this video really cracked me up...she goes “I am so tired” and he is over there just the opposite super hyper and ready to go.🤣🤣🤣
I laughed so hard!
Deej T I meeean it was a really good Frappuccino. Got me ready for my vacation!! 😂😂🤷🏻♂️
I love that you approach HR before you broached any conversation with that woman. That was prudent as these days, companies will let you go at the merest hint that a situation could cause PR /legal problems. I'd like for you guys to do a video on what exactly one could say to the ignorant in such circumstances. Personally, I get overwhelmed with the lack of empathy and what I see as willful ignorance of some racist individuals. I don't even know where to start in their correction or enlightenment. As a result, I have been a poor champion for such issues and people leave just as dumb as they arrived.
Simone Williamson hey Simone! I think that’s a GREAT idea for another video. It may not be the next one but down the line, I’ll talk to wifey and see if we can add it to the list. Those conversations can almost be overwhelming before you even start them. Like you said “where do I even start?!” Thanks for your comment. Would love to hear more of your thoughts on future videos 🙌🏻
My favourite couple! So much maturity. What would Jesus do? Confront the lady!! Christians should have boldness and confront people with love.
AND RESPECT.
@@mmaddox45scarlett Ofcause, with the love of God comes respect.
yes, so true. we christians are supposed to be brave, move with love but shouldnt fear confronting anyone or thing
Bongo Nxawe couldn’t agree more! ✊🏻 😂
Much respect. I’m glad you confronted her because I thought in the last video that’s what I thought should have happened. Also as the husband I’m glad you did the confrontation because you are the head and the protector. Great couple! ❤️
Love how you guys came back and told the whole story. Also, appreciate how Brian handled the situation.
Thank you for speaking out on this topic💕 It's necessary to address these issues with people when they arise!
Thank you for this conversation. May peace be with you all. Thank you for having her back! This made me cry
I love to see multiracial couples together. I myself am in a multiracial marriage. 🙈
My hubby also is a Bryan!💖😊 and I love him so much!💘
We have been in your situation before, it's hard but no matter what people say and think, at the end of the day, it's always he and I, we have each other and there is nothing they can do about it!! I am so glad you guys have each other, and glad you know you are fighting a good fight. God bless you both!🙏
Brian getting hyper off of sugar is the best. Lol
Elizabeth Zielinski 🤷🏻♂️
" If your job is passed three words....I don't know what you do!" LMAO
I appreciate the transparency and genuineness of your videos. Mad respect to the Mista for being willing to engage in what is often difficult dialogue for some to have. In my own experience I’ve found that it is often easier for White individuals to hear what is truly being communicated (when discussing issues of overt/covert racism, micro-aggressions, etc) when it comes from a White ally. And I applaud the maturity demonstrated to not automatically “pop off” after a situation like that. Can’t say that I’m there yet 🤦🏾♀️🤣
Great conversation guys...very necessary! And I love that you handled the situation representing Christ! #awesomestuff
I'm a Christian I'm also a little 😊 older I like how you handled colorism Praise God for a husband that comes to your defense in a professional Christliked manner. He is operating as a protector of his wife which I give major kudos to him. There isn't anything wrong with educating others rather they receive it or not. I have kept quiet about a situation or two probably because I would have been ignorant with my tongue. Mostly I stand up and I will always cobtinue to Stand.
I enjoy these videos there great stay with God remember to keep Jesus as your core. Love you both in Christ 💕
"I have Black friends" 😡 but what does that have to do with me because I am not your friend. As adults we ALL understand the relationship you have with your "friends" black or otherwise is not to be confused with how you address or communicate with other people in general. So I get extremely annoyed with that weak excuse. Save it for your "friends" who apparently tolerate insensitivity and disrespect...best believe that's not me. Go Bryan hats off to you, love how you honor & protect your queen!👏🏾
I 💖 you two!!! Both your facial expressions while the other was trying to explain what he does had me 😂.
That comment that " but I have black friends" drives me insane. That doesn't give you the right to be disrespectful and say the "N" word with "GA" or "ER" at the end of it to anyone of color in my presence. I will always tell people I don't care what you were taught, or what your other black friends let you get away with, you do not say or do certain things and think that it's cool. I absolutely agree with the way you handled the situation with your coworker. Granted she was probably drunk at the time but, as long as she learns from it and does better then you did your part. God bless 💖💖
Y’all are a beautiful couple! You handled it correctly
I love you guys ... I love the way you all handled this situation. God bless you both 🙏🏽
Great job guys. Whatever you do, do it in love. May God continue to bless your lives.
GOD will definitely give the wisdom on how to handle situations, going to HR was definitely a wise strategy.
Wisdom is truly a gift from GOD ALMIGHTY. This reminds me of Boaz.
Well spoken and also well addressed. Love knows no color. What matters is being with the person you truely love. Ignore the haters. Love you guys.
My goodness Lexi, you are so beautiful, I love you guys relationship stay bless🙏🏽
I am totally agree with you about what you said on the video : " Sometimes showing love is confrontation.
You and your husband are so right about how to handle those kind of situations.
There is a prayer I say before I go anywhere that means also to work. "God go before me and prepare a place for me" In Jesus name . The angels of the Lord will fulfill His words. I can not remember where in the bible this scripture is, I just remember seeing it and the Holy Spirit propping me to say it whenever. I believe these word will stop you from battling principalities and will allow God to fight your battles. Remember always, "If God is for you who can be against you," saying His word will allow you both to rest in the comfort of the father in Jesus name. God bless you both you are in my prayers.
Wow! That is true!!!
I agree with your statement about Jesus being a rebel and standing against workers of iniquity and evil doers. God has truly blessed you both with insight and wisdom on how to address adversity in any form. Racism unfortunately is one such adversity, and the curse that keeps on living because of ignorance and intolerance. Thank you for being transparent about your experience and sought to educate the less informed.
So cool! I’m from the Cayman Islands 🇰🇾. So glad about how you all responded to this situation.
You are right. Thank God finally. Jesus was definitely a warrior! There were many conversations he had in the bible with many groups of people where he was telling them off.
I enjoy you both. I love the way you communicate and the way he is there to protect you in situations. The way he went to HR before he spoke to the lady.
All I have to say is y’all inspire me, and 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.This was a God honoring, Christ loving way to handle this situation.
For your next trip, please come to Jamaica ☺
Hello guys. I just had to let you know you guys are my favorite youtube couple .I love you guys.
This was good! Love my brother and sister in Christ!🙏🏽💕
I love the fact that you guyz are good Christians
While she was trying to explain you job, I was literally thinking..... he has a Chandler job lol😂
I really enjoyed the follow up video; you all did leave us in the wind, so thanks for the closure. You all handled the situation very professionally, so I’m learning and growing from you two. 😂 Also, I love the way you all discuss real issues because I watch a few inter-racial couples video and they say little to nothing about real marital issues, so I like the way you all keep it real. Girl, I love your hair; you are absolutely gorgeous!
Upmost decorum and class. I commend you.
You guys are absolutely correct in your thinking, as usual. What the white lady did is one of the many maneuvers sociologist and author Robin Diangelo discuss in her book White Fragility of how whites handle being confronted with their racism. It's extraordinary the excuses they come up with to get out of that situation/conversation. If you haven't already done so you should look her up. I like her because she's a white person talking to and about other white people about the implicit biases they carry and how we're worse today. She definitely taught me how to identify and categorize white peoples level of ignorance. It too is extraordinary!
At 4:14 the way he looking at her 😍 all love in that stare.
These racism experiences are so draining! Am an African and my policy is I go where am celebrated and not tolerated. Sad that mere mortals can decide and vocalize their inner bad thoughts about other peoples skin color. Their many African like myself that can afford to travel but when you think about racism in certain parts of the world...you are like its okay let me just travel around Africa and not have to deal with racisim.
Oh my gosh!! I just did a gaffaw laugh at your hubby's feistiness compared to your exhaustion...and hoping I didn't wake my fam!! HILARIOUS!
I love it! Forgive and move on, no need to stick at one thing, love you guys much, such a sweet couple!🤗🤗❤❤❤
Thank you for this vlog. You are so wondweful to watch,, first because of your love for Christ, and secondly, your love for each other. Blessings
I love your locs hairstyle. By the way you handle racism respectful & classy. Don’t let ignorant people get you out of character.
I love you guys. Brian, you are now and always will be a bruh😊. Thanks for sharing him with us Lexy... As a black woman, I have deep hatreds and you guys are helping me clean all of it out. Thank you for sharing your lives, families, loves, just YOU! Love to the both of you
I would have snapped out on that lady. Yep I’m a Christian also but I’m one that confronts...Don’t play with me..
You do that if that's what you prefer.
The point they were making is to ensure it doesn't get turned on you when (most likely) she will report you to HR, that she had witnesses to you attacking her and, if she's really evil, she'll weep and tell them that she is scared of you. You could then get fired. She would then get time off work to recover from the distress and embarrassment that you caused her, possibly financial compensation. Brian handled it in the way that took that opportunity away from her by getting to HR first.
A saying in my language is along the lines of: to catch a monkey, act like a monkey. Well done to the couple. Enjoy many more holidays, me dears
@@girlmellaceus LOL. Well said.
@@Danybella whew... c.9 months on, we see #amycooper proving my point on video with same entitled behaviour... how glad am I that the secret is out
I'm a new subscriber & I truly love your channel. I'm so proud of you for going to HR.🙌 This behavior truly shows how much you love the wellbeing of your wife/marriage.💖❤ It's 2019, not 1619, so why is there still primitive thinking & doing?! This is a learned behavior passed down from generation to generation. These people do not love themselves😢😢😢. Therefore, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO LOVE OTHERS. Unless they submit to God and allow God to truly change their heart, they will not change. Stay encouraged Cole family! 🙏💕
Girl this man loves you. You can never find another man even of the same race that loves you like this man love you. And how did he become so woke🥰
I know this is a UA-cam channel but you guys have a ministry here you are teaching and that’s what’s up! ✌🏾🙏🏾
I love the fact that you two always acknowledge God in your life...
Keep moving forward guys. Love You!!!!!!
You all did an amazing job. Continue to keep your family strong and tight no matter what comes against you.
Colorism? Do you mean racism? I know I heard colorism is used amongst the black community when it comes dark skin and light skin.
Watch the Cancun video. The woman kept saying 'you are soooo dark' and made it seen she was acceptable to her if she was lighter complection
Colorism is a symtom of the racism that exist. Usually it occurs in the black community, however, it does occur with whites also. For example placing lots of light black women in parts on TV roles. Zoe Saldono playing the role of Nina Samone in which Zoe had to wear black face & a afro wigh.
@@tamikaqueen1203
Colorism is not something that usually occurs in the black community..... In fact, the origin of colorism originated during race based slavery in the U.S....
During that era lighter skinned black & mixed folks were assigned to work in the house AKA 'house negros' while the darker skinned black folks were assigned to the fields & hard labor AKA 'field negros'....
The civil rights era brought about laws that made it illegal to discriminate based on race, COLOR, religion, creed, etc...
Now, discrimination wasn't made illegal based on (among other things) *color* (aka colorism) because this was something that usually occured in the black community 🤔...
Nope, colorism was included as a form of prejudice & discrimination.
Although, eventually, colorism *did* spill over into the black community's psyche.
Mainly becuz the subliminal message was very clear.... if your skin is lighter, not only are you 'better' than the darker folks..... *you're treated better too.*
Facts....
Based on countless studies, academia, research, books & data from credible sources.
@@gracesmyth7620 incorrect colorism always happens in the black community
This video is FANTASTIC! Your ministry is a blessing to me! I thank God for guiding me to your Vlogs! May the Lord continue to bless you and your little daughter, Aza!
YES WE HAVE TO ADDRESS RACISM ESPECIALLY AS CHRISTIANS. WE CANT IGNORE IT OR ACT LIKE IT DOESN'T EXIST.
WE NEED TO LOOK TO GOD FOR ANSWERS. TFS YOUR STORY
You and your husband made some very salient points of enlightenment regarding colorism and white America. I enjoyed your commentary.
I appreciate the follow up provided in this video. I am proud that your husband took the necessary steps to address the issue and to provide the much needed education to confront privilege and racist ideologies. The rest is up to the transgressor to change and grow from the experience. Time will tell, but she now has an opportunity be better, and be a part of the elevated transformation this world desperately needs.
Don't worry about rinkles in linen, it naturally rinkles! White linen is a favorite of mine, but the rinkles will always be there! I think you handled the confrontational conversation with that person just right!
Oh! I spelled wrinkles wrong!!!!
I'm so glad to said something. I was thinking something should be said as well and so happy you guys updated us.
Or like Tommy on Martin, no one ever knew if he had a job or not. Lol. Yes I believe in confrontation but my children do not, they always say mom let it go, naw not me
Maxine Payton 😂 that is hilarious! It’s all about the way you confront. 👌🏻

I thought of Tommy too. No one ever knew what he did.
Bahahahahahah....I love you guys and man I also love the show "Friends". I am a black woman and my friends don't get the jokes and really don't understand how I can laugh at Chandler/Joey/Ross all day.
Anyway, thank you for all you do. I am not in an inter ethnic relationship but I am open to it. Thankfully I live in Toronto, Canada where people pretty much mind their business and really don't give a crap about what you do as long as you like hockey. I applaud you both for taking the steps to have this discussion and will continue to follow your journey. God Bless! P.S. I started this comment after the "Friends" reference so I will continue to watch now. :)
I really like your channel. You seem authentic, unlike some channels.❤ What you said about showing love is real!!! Showing love does not mean remaining quiet all the time. Speaking up is also important.
Chez Debz wow, thank you so much!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 that means a lot. We want to be as authentic and sincere with sharing our lives/stories as possible, hoping people can take away something positive from it.
This your perspective. My side of the family, friends had no problem with my black wife. It was her side, friends who had the problem. It is not just one way.
THANK YOU FOR BRING THIS UP AGAIN... BECAUSE I GET THIS EVERY DAY FROM STRANGERS BODY LANGUAGES AND READING LIPS.. WE CAN STILL NEED TO EDUCATE PEOPLE IN GENERAL.. I'M AN PERSON THAT WILL SPEAK UP AND SOME PEOPLE IN GENERAL HATES IT WHEN I SPEAK UP.... AM AN PERSON WITH DISABILITIES THAT MAY TAKE AN SECOND LOOK... AS MY PHOTO SHOW WITH MY ASSISTANCE PARTNER HAS TO AN DOG... WHILE TRYING TO GO BY MY BUSINESS EVERY DAY IS EDUCATIONAL....
Communication definitely is the key!!

You guys are a beautiful couple. Nice to hear you enjoyed your visit to the Cayman Islands. I live here and it is paradise :) I think you handled the racial situation very well. God bless you both xx
I'm a 64 yr old black woman, I have faced this, all my life, especially, in my own race. Living in the south, you would think, the whites, would give you problems, about your color, no! in my case, it was, my race of people. They judge you, accordingly, by your color, and life style. Just trying to live, is hard.
They really do..

I will and have always spoken out when someone wronged me because I believe it can stop them from doing it to someone else!AMEN AMEN AMEN 🙌🙌🙌
The way you ultimately handled the situation was great. I wish more people would handle it that way. You must confront people's ignorance whenever you can. I have situations in my past by people who were not White but prejudiced against Dark Skin Black People and in retrospect I wish I had handled the situations differently. I know better now and would not let comments just go without challenging them.
I'm so glad you handle this, the RIGHT way!!
You guys are blesed to have each other!
Thanks for the video! Love how you handled the situation. I agree that conversations need to be had concerning racial issues/encounters. I also agree that white people talking to white people is usually more effective. Those conversations need to happen more. Also thank you for reminding us that Jesus was not afraid to have confrontations and conflicting discussions. Love is definitely not just suffering in silence and being passive.
Love that her hair is always on point...you guys ROCK
Look guys..... thought you was going to show the island, but saying that you are a beautiful couple. Enjoyed listening to you both.
Some very important concepts were addressed here. I believe that you both are very bravely dealing with this issue.
I believe that the Lord not only chose you to be husband and wife, but added the color aspect to help bring HEALING among all ethnicities (in all the MANY areas where racial wounding has occurred, and there are MANY areas of wounding), which will reveal His glory. Racism and ethnic conflict is rooted in Hell, and ultimately only the Cross destroyed the power of racism, but that victory MUST be walked out here and now through painful, shattering, but transforming confrontations. Only Christians truly CAN address this matter. Because of biblical truth, Christians CAN face the unique form of horrific racism in each of our hearts and the damage it has done to our souls! While racism will INCREASE in the non-Christian world, racial love and fellowship will EXPAND among true Christians. This is so amazing! Thank you for your courage and transparency! Glory to God!!!
Keep walking in His truth!!!
You guys are so beautiful both inside and out. You are my number one couple...love you

I agree totally... truth will make these souls free. First of all love 💕 is an action not silence which is agreement ... and hypocrisy.. silence is necessary if we are angry 😤leading to sin...First Christ Jesus knew motive and intention always..We don’t always know but If someone steps on your toe and it hurt 😢 ouch is the word to describe and response not silent pain..God gives discernment and abilities to speak with love against ignorance hatred divisive behavior.
I love 💕 your thought 💭 process behind dealing with conflict... Going to HR is pivotal and then this woman 👩.with her racist behavior displayed to another person within the company..Your are a wise couple... blessings always
