She most certainly did take metal to another level and the effect she had can clearly be seen by how many classical and operatic singers there are now and how her era songs are covered by so many bands and singers.

This is a masterpiece. Thank you, Tarja. Personally, I don't think it was a loss that Tarja was fired from Nightwish. She would have left anyway after the next album and if she was still in Nightwish she wouldn't have been able to develop this wonderful sound. Her leaving the band gave us more musical variety - we have old Nightwish, new Nightwish and we have Tarja Turunen. :)
No wonder when TARJA left Nightwish, even Tuaomas even admitted, he had the worst time getting over the fact, that TARJA was now gone! He said he went into a state of depression! I don't blame him!😔
Tuomas is a false individual to the bone, he certainly couldn't talk about the joy he felt when he kicked her out of Nightwish. He's always had depression and it's latent and well hidden, so don't spout bullshit and think about when all the suffering it caused will come back to him.

This is my favourite song by Tarja, and this video is what made me want to listen more to Symphonic Metal. I knew Nightwish, Tarja and Epica but never loved them really. Now I really love Symphonic Metal itself and all because of her... I love you Tarja, you're unique and extraordinary
She was great in Nightwish but greater going solo. Her music now truly showcase her voice and style of singing to a higher level. She absolutely shines here.

as a staunchly, unappologetically and irreversably heterosexual male i am not ashamed to say that hearing Tarja's voice has always reduced me to a quievering pile of jello. She is just as comfortable making these masterpieces as well as belting out ghost love score, nemo and everdream in a majestic,close up driven,beautiful chorus, extensive keyboard supported, fully lit and orchestra driven setting.
If Toumas was smart, he'd have said in a public letter, "we hope to work with her again in the future." And kept it as positive as possible..... Truth is, he milked this pretty woman for all she was worth, showed her no appreciation, turned others against her, and was only holding her creativity back. Almost 20 years later, Tarja has done more phenomenal work alone while Floor is on the verge of branching off like Tarja and Anette and Marko.
You really think they could have part their ways in good terms in that situation?? They were conflicting the whole year up to hatred toward each other! Tuomas was very angry at Tarja and her husband and she didnt consider herself as part of the band anymore. And what do you mean "he milked her"? She became popular due to him and his music! Tuomas may be a jerk, but he is brilliant composer, his music is unique. The fact they didnt fall down after Tarja firing only proves it. Tarja's solo stuff is OK at best.

Because I knew I might need those people as a reference, or might try to reapply with them in the future. If Toumas was that upset with Tarja about a few things, he should have made a positive letter to the public like, "creative differences, and time constraints, we have to part ways." "And we wish her the best on her solo career." Or "be on the lookout for her debut solo album coming out next year."..... Things like that..... But then PRIVATELY a couple weeks later, write her and Marcelo a PRIVATE raw letter just between the three of them. Unfortunately, narcissists like Toumas only think about themselves, and not about the effects their actions have on other people, not even the ones who are innocent bystanders.

They'd instantly gang up on that mfer and field goal kick his ass off the stage with a 7 foot drop, and then let the moshpit jump him! Security and the cops would have been the least of his worries! Tarja owes Tuomas as much as he owes her. Without her vocals and persona, they would have been just another metal band out there. And yes, a simple "we decided to part ways" would be much better than firing her after she said she was going to leave anyway and then milk her with a book a DVD and a CD. To this day, Once is their best selling album followed by DPP and EOAE... all with her or dissing her.
This is high-quality music. It may be that you do not like the style of it, but that does not make it bad music. So, if you do not like it, listen to music you like. Saves you a lot of time.

hearing Tarja's voice has always reduced me to a quievering pile of jello. She is just as comfortable making these masterpieces as well as belting out ghost love score, nemo and everdream in a majestic,close up driven,beautiful chorus,
extensive keyboard supported, fully lit and orchestra driven setting.

oh how my heart breaks to the sound of tarja. I'll love her for eternity.
If Toumas was smart, he'd have said in a public letter, "we hope to work with her again in the future." And kept it as positive as possible..... Truth is, he milked this pretty woman for all she was worth, showed her no appreciation, turned others against her, and was only holding her creativity back.
Almost 20 years later, Tarja has done more phenomenal work alone while Floor is on the verge of branching off like Tarja and Anette and Marko.
You really think they could have part their ways in good terms in that situation?? They were conflicting the whole year up to hatred toward each other! Tuomas was very angry at Tarja and her husband and she didnt consider herself as part of the band anymore.
And what do you mean "he milked her"? She became popular due to him and his music! Tuomas may be a jerk, but he is brilliant composer, his music is unique. The fact they didnt fall down after Tarja firing only proves it. Tarja's solo stuff is OK at best.
@@Finnochka ; there are a few jobs I left for NEGATIVE reasons. But I still submitted a POSITIVE resignation letter. Because I knew I might need those people as a reference, or might try to reapply with them in the future.
If Toumas was that upset with Tarja about a few things, he should have made a positive letter to the public like, "creative differences, and time constraints, we have to part ways." "And we wish her the best on her solo career." Or "be on the lookout for her debut solo album coming out next year."..... Things like that..... But then PRIVATELY a couple weeks later, write her and Marcelo a PRIVATE raw letter just between the three of them.
Unfortunately, narcissists like Toumas only think about themselves, and not about the effects their actions have on other people, not even the ones who are innocent bystanders.
@@Finnochka she suffered some health problems during her end with NW, and was raped once on stage, and the cowardly boys in NW kept playing their instruments instead of using them to go beat the guy's ass.
If someone attempted to rape Tarja as a solo artist on stage; do you think Mike Tarana and the rest of her band would continue playing?..... HELL NOOH THEY WOULDN'T!! They'd instantly gang up on that mfer and field goal kick his ass off the stage with a 7 foot drop, and then let the moshpit jump him! Security and the cops would have been the least of his worries! Marcelo wouldn't even have time to give that guy a shiner! And I ain't talkin' about the beer.

I'm just saying that despite all that narcistic coward behaviour - Tuomas is brilliant composer who is one of the million... And its due to his music she became so popular. Yes she had her voice and charisma, but the fact that even with Anette and Floir their kept on their success and popularuty...
@@Finnochka The music was never the same. Not as powerfull or passionate ever since she left. Besides, she pretty much inspired him to create the music they did not the other way around. Tarja owes Tuomas as much as he owes her. Without her vocals and persona, they would have been just another metal band out there. And yes, a simple "we decided to part ways" would be much better than firing her after she said she was going to leave anyway and then milk her with a book a DVD and a CD. To this day, Once is their best selling album followed by DPP and EOAE... all with her or dissing her.
This is high-quality music. It may be that you do not like the style of it, but that does not make it bad music. So, if you do not like it, listen to music you like. Saves you a lot of time.
if Tarja's not the first vocal of NW ^^ you may never know them.the only thing that make NWcareer's start become famoús very fast is metal combined with OPERA VOCAL'S VOICE!!this style is unique in that moment,that why they earned so much attention,became a phenomental!of course,NW now have a lot of fan too,but remember,it's including fan's base from NW old era.Tarja and the guys make each other famous surely,the TRUTH that no one can deny.None of them can get so much succes without each other!
