That last bit right as he begins repeatedly screaming fade, the instrumental on that is absolutely beautiful. Lyrics were top notch. Best song I have ever heard from them.
@Larry Lee Hansen If i recall correctly John writes his lyrics based on how it sounds when he screams it rather than having meaning. But yeah, i kinda agree. But at the end of the line the artist knows best. (I guess🤪)
hmmm If you talking about consistence and power, and live skills. Winston Mcall wins this. hands down. From Parkway drive. No one has the Power and constitution he has live
Timothy Dexter Actually, that was a mutual decision between Tilian and their producer Kris Crummett. Before, Kris would have Tilian re-record if there was any grit in his vocals. They decided to let it go here, and boy did it pay off.
THIS IS LEGIT THEIR BEST ALBUM Tilian my dude goes fucking off the whole album truly showing what he's capable of conveying he's emotion, strength, and the ridiculous notes he's able to hit throughout. Jon Fucking Mess was becoming just a screamer that gets parts to scream every now and then while Tilian was stealing the show on the last album which made kinda sad, but on this one I've never head banged so hard when he's parts came in because he just murdered every track he was in and showed why he's a staple in the band. The instruments are fucking chaotic throughout the whole album. No song feels slow because they always just kick it up notch and you can't stop listening because it just sounds so fucking great. Honestly they went above and beyond in this album while keeping it that DGD vibe. 10/10
Honestly on songs like Here Comes the Winner Tilian goes harder than ever did in Tides of Man. I can't get over how he does that. Then we have the rest of the band pushing themselves just as hard on this record.
Dude, I thought I was the only person who noticed it. A few songs on IG, Mess was the scream guy reserved for the breakdown in the middle of the song. That got me worried, and mainly disappointed. Thankfully, it's not the case here. ☺️
Love Maker Tillian really came into this album with passion and the intensity of molten magma. I feel like this is the album where he is finally 100% percent comfortable with DGD's style and it just flows, breaks, ebbs, come crashing back like a wave breaking on the shore, and is in perfect connection with what he envisions for the future.
Becca Larch.. Ive been follow DGD since day one and i thought that their last cd was their best.. I was wrong this fuckin cd has me going through every emotion humanly possible.. Incredibile.. Just incredibile

We all deserve the best and should never settle for less. This album is incredible. This is my new favorite DGD song.. damn.
I feel the same, im a girl and we were a long time relationship. We said he didnt wanted to hurt me, but he did. He broke my heart and i feel so dissapointed to gave him my all. I feel worthless. Im hurt but im okay

Between the guitar riffs and this man's fucking insane vocals, this track blew me away. He can effortlessly switch this harshness, softness and pretty much rapping all in one song. Lord help me.
Holy shit, the chorus with the dueling guitars, sounds amazing. And hearing Tim with the kick ass bass line. And holy shit the growl. This is honestly their best album to date. And I'm pretty sure every fan can say that.

I can think of only one closing track that I like more than this one, and that one's my favorite song of all, so there's an expression of how much I enjoy this. Basically, I'm saying that this song is actual perfection. From calm to chaos, then that raw, vulnerable, lyrical emotion toward the end... Amazing.
It was my first time listening to this song by them today and I strongly agree with you it was great and its been on repeat since then too. Best song by far
Years ago, when Dance Gavin Dance kicked out jonny for the 2nd time, the day I heard about it I said to everyone that would listen, "Watch, theyre gonna pick up Tillian." Of course i was right but this is 100% exactly what I hoped for from that day. This one track. Thank you.
I was on a massive Tides of Man kick and just wanted yet another god-tier vocalist in the band haha, but i always liked his style on Empire Theory more then the other
This is not only my favorite Dance Gavin Dance song, but my favorite song in general. I feel every emotion and brutality this song was meant to portray. Giving your life to someone while being completely exposed and vulnerable. Trusting in them to never betray your trust and to always stay faithful. Or the trust has already been broken and you do your damnedest to try and forgive them. Which is a long road of repair and restoring. Then all of a sudden you feel like you're creating self induced irrational fears which makes the burden of building eachothers trust again all that much more agonizing and difficult. That shit will eat you up inside if the other person isn't actually deserving of the second chance. I speak from experience, if you couldn't tell. The things we will put ourselves through for the one's we love.
This song. This very exact song saved my life so many time after my 13 year relationship ended. I’m still heartbroken more than a year later and come to this song for comfort to get through one more day.
Honestly, after listening to this again after a long while, I think this might very well be my favorite DGD song outta all of them. Tillian's vocals are so beautifully somber and harmonic.
oh boi dgd is one of those bands that you find that one song you like and every other song reminds you of that song but still sounds completely new and it's great simply amazing I love it
Around a year and a few months ago, my friends introduced me to DGD and this genre of music. It started with Count Bassy and although I was thoroughly confused, I was enjoying listening to them every once in a while. A little over a month passed and I found myself looking forward to listening to the entirety of Artificial Selection when it would come on my playlist which was weird for because I don't necessarily like bands, I like songs from bands. This was the first band I had listened to where I listened to 99% of the songs on an album and enjoyed them. My taste in music reaches from bubbly, to alternative rock, to weird 80's shit, to rap, dubstep, etc, but this BAND quickly became my favorite GENRE of music. It wasn't until right before I saw them live for the first time earlier in 2019 at Warehouse Live in Houston, TX that I listened to Mothership for the first time. I remember listening to every song in a row from start to finish one afternoon while I was doing homework, and Man of the Year came on last and I have to admit, I knew from the first few seconds of Tilian's voice that it was going to be my favorite DGD song. The voices, the build, the Mess, EVERYTHING was perfect. Then, when I got to see them live, not only was I lucky enough to hear them close on Evaporate, but they also played Man of the Year. I had only been to one concert before that (Lorde lol) and I knew that sometimes bands songs can be "not as good" live, but Man of the Year could not have been executed more perfectly. I have been to around 5 more concerts since then of different bands and nothing has lived up to DGD. Glad to say that I immediately bought my tickets for their next performance at Warehouse Live on March 20th and I can't wait.
Tilians verse at the end and the way he sings it is so powerful to me, I just want to tell him how much I understand his lyrics, they really speak to me and how much I can relate to his music as well as Dance Gavin Dance as a whole. there music has always spoken to me. They've been my favorite band for years and they always will be.

With the effort, emotion, and excellence you put into your music, you have won yourselves a lifelong fan. Just finished the album, so here's a small little rant. I've noticed a trend of bands in this genre becoming more accessible, especially in recent years. I won't name names, but I've pretty much reached that general consensus. And that trend always disappointed me, because I liked the screams, the speed, the spontaneous, and the moshibility of the genre. So then Dance Gavin Dance released Instant Gratification, which I DID like, but was sort of disappointed over because I felt they were following that trend, namely in songs like Death of a Strawberry and Legend. Even in songs like We Own The Night, Mess felt more like an accessory than a full member of the band (A chorus the two shared and which Tilian dominated, and then like 5 seconds at the end? On a single?). At the end of the day, I wasn't highly anticipating this album because of those reasons. And then the album was released. ...What happened? I mean, THIS song is probably one of the slowest songs on the album (And feel free to skip to 1:25 when I say that). This album is the most in-your-face album I've EVER heard from DGD. It doesn't let off ONCE. Pure chaos, a crap ton of double kick and amazing licks. It's everything I've ever loved about DGD in one package. Mothership might be pretty intimidating to people that liked the more poppier side of DGD, and it probably won't be DGD's most successful album because of that. For me though, it's all I've ever wanted and loved. This is my favorite DGD album. I've loved every album they've released, and own every album they've released, but this one is easily my favorite. There's not a single song I dislike here. Thanks for releasing this, guys.
This album is pure gold. IG is also my "least fovorite" as well, but this one damn! They did EVERYTHING right! It's agressive, funky, melodic. I can't wait to listen this one live.
whats funny is that there isn't a single DGD song I don't like. A few songs off of WISIRO kind of blend together and sound the same, but I still love every one. They have never disappointed me at all. I wasn't a fan at first of happiness but then I realized the master piece that it was. I also didn't like the production of AS, but that too is an amazing album. Their goal is to release completely different album styles with each release, and they accomplish that every time.
Hands down my favorite song by them, and just one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard. It is a sign of this band's quality that so many songs by them come close. Never stop rocking, DGD; every one of you has talent in spades.
Seriously the best song on the album, for sure. This entire album is really like a marriage between DGD and Tides of Man, and I'm not just saying that because of Tilian being the vocalist - considering this is the 3rd album with him on it. I personally feel like this is some of their best work to date and I've been with these dudes since Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean.
Rediscovering a DGD song you listened to before but didn't fully immerse in is like the music equivalent of finding a twenty in your pocket.
perfectly said thank u gellister SBB64

One of my favorite persons ever just recommended this to me to check out. She knows me well.
You couldnt have said it better fam.
praise the all-believer
This album is pure gold. IG is also my "least fovorite" as well, but this one damn! They did EVERYTHING right! It's agressive, funky, melodic. I can't wait to listen this one live.
loved your "rant"
whats funny is that there isn't a single DGD song I don't like.
Tilian had it all in the palm of his hand. Now it's over.
You should post about this in your melodramatic profile!
Yeah.... This is hands down the best song in the album. This whole album is pretty much golden.
Roy Belmont this whole CD is scary good.. Top to bottom. Amazing.. Just amazing
Danny Delia this album is on par with Silent Planets The Night God Slept.

Kate you’re hearing it live in a couple days what the fuck.
I'm in love! I've been listening to dance with gavin for only two months and every song I have listened to is just great
More like 'Album of the Year'
💞👏💞👏
it's a masterpiece.
Woah. Just woah
Hands down my favorite song by them, and just one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard. It is a sign of this band's quality that so many songs by them come close. Never stop rocking, DGD; every one of you has talent in spades.
This whole album is golden
love their guitar riffs :3
The Defeat In My Eyes The riffs, lyrics, melody. Everything about this song is just perfect.
This may be the best song on the album.
Best song on the album. What a closer
Definitely my favourite of the album!
Did this album just become my favorite from them....omg
Seriously the best song on the album, for sure. This entire album is really like a marriage between DGD and Tides of Man, and I'm not just saying that because of Tilian being the vocalist - considering this is the 3rd album with him on it. I personally feel like this is some of their best work to date and I've been with these dudes since Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean.
