  • #trains #diesellocomotive #history Paul Sartori joined our trainclub during mid 1997, in 1998 osmr had to find a new home and we ended up using a machine shop in apopka for most of the year, the shop had a small office that had a hvac and on tuesdays some of our club members would show up in the afternoons and Paul would put on a show with his train movies for entertainment. Pauls shows covered Alote of the united states as he moved very frequently Paul also recently converted all his movies to DVD so they can be played at the train club and so they can be shared to everyone watching the youtube channel. Special thanks to Paul for the movies all the credit goes to him! ILLEGAL COPY OR UPLOAD OF THIS ON ANYONE ELSE’S CHANNEL WILL GET PROSECUTED. Thank you for watching and subscribing to us!

I grew-up in Danville, IL and lived about one block from their tracks on Plum St. The passenger station was 4 blocks away and the C&EI shops was bout 8 blocks away. We played around the train station and C&EI shops growing up. My last trip on the C&EI was an evening train from the Chicago's Dearborn Street station to Danville on leave in the Navy.

I love these old locomotives. They are the ones I watched growing up in Indiana. Thanks for the memories. 😊

Used to see this railroad a lot rolling through Chicago Heights, Il. when I was a kid. Now have this in O scale.

Immediately after 4-1-76, CR leases quite a few MP GP35s.
I saw several of these. They lasted about 6 months.

I lived in Danville on Myers St. Right across front the C&EI depot, it was still going until I believe 1972 until it shut down, we moved in that neighborhood in 1968 when I was 5.

Daltan Illinois is spelled Dolton. Ran through there for 22 years. Buffet is pronounced buff-ay.

If you stand on Roosevelt Road looking north to Dearborn Street, it is all weeds!

Actually it's an upscale housing development known as Dearborn Park and has been since the mid- 1980s

Not at Roosevelt Road, Dearborn Park ends at Taylor Street. South of there it is all weeds, with some grassy areas

@@Robbi496 You must not have been there in years or you are confusing the Dearborn station area with the former Grand Central Station property (former B&O yards) that are known locally as the 78 which is the area just west of the Rock Island commuter line west of Clark St. As far as Dearborn Park goes its 1 phase ended at Roosevelt Rd the 2 nd phase which was built late 1980s included the southern part of the terminal Area (think the C&EI and Erie freight houses) and extends all the way to the St. Charles Airline . Also the old Meadowlark refrigerated freight house has also been converted to condos. I have a friend that lives there.
