@@arquid6317 true
Boney M. was a disco band produced by Frank Farian that had international success, especially in the 1970s, with songs such as Daddy Cool, Rivers of Babylon and Ma Baker. Boney M. has sold over 150 million records worldwide, including more than 60 million singles. If I'm not mistaken, the contract with the group was limited to a certain period of time. If I'm not mistaken, after the group dissolved, they tried to found a new one, but that was banned because of copyright. The group was brought from Jamaica. Everything else was history. Imagine Frank Faraian went to Jamaica and got some unknown group and signed a temporary record deal with them like Boney M
Back in my high school days one band who guaranteed a full disco dance floor was Boney M. Every time.
His dancing was more cocaine influenced than Irish influenced. Hehe. Love this song and the story it tells is based on a real-life character in Russian history.
Это русские танцы, бро )
Alan Rickman played the part of Rasputin in a movie that covers the bases in his rise and fall and of course he couldn't have done any of it without Vodka . Cheers
Classic song the beat the music is amazing such high energy and manz was fire with his moves
Boney M was funny character to me….LMAO he was a hit worldwide in the music game back in the 70s
That dude had energy for DAYS.
Coincidentally, he died on the same date and in the same city as Grigori Rasputin, the subject of one of his group's most iconic songs, and who he had dressed as in some live performances
One of the great songs of the last century, pure energy-infused delight - absolute legends! They played in some pubs along acdc's 'Highway to Hell' (Canning Highway, Western Australia) during the 80s, I am told by some old timers. Damn, would I have liked to have been there - imagine this up close. Each of their songs is a power-packet. 💣💥
He was doing his own version of the traditional Russian dance, the girls we’re doing it a bit as well!
Boney M is such a strangely dope group. I started watching their videos to laugh at the guys ridiculous dancing and wound up a fan of their music. Check out Ma Baker and/or Daddy Cool by Boney M.
And Sunny (my fave)! ✌😄
He was completely bonkers. 😁 Other songs included Brown girl in the ring and By the rivers of Babylon. They're the kind of tunes you'd say weren't your fav genre - then find they'd got completely stuck in your head. So the band must have been doing something right! ... Since I mentioned bonkers, you need to check out the Dizzee Rascal song, if you don't know it already! And of a similar time, Madcon's Beggin. Love both those tunes!
Boney M. are fantastic!
Don't miss there other hits:
Rivers of Babylon
Ma Baker
Daddy Cool
Sunny
Gotta go Home
Brown Girl in the Ring
In Russia tape! Happy New Year!
hahahaha!!! this dude! his other videos have me crackin the hell up!
Someone: Bobby, how many lines do you need for this?
Bobby: Yes.
The singer of boney m was lipsyncing it is Frank Farian who sing he did it on millli vanilli but people spit on milli vanilli not them or him.Bobby Farrell, the “lead singer” and dancer in Boney M., simply moved his lips in sync to the songs when performing on stage. This never harmed the success of the band. They were a sensation not only in Germany, but worldwide. That's what they said i found not right that milli vanilli gets hated
Yea - sure you should figure out who Rasputin was. However great song - great reaction. Thank you.
It's a true story.
Please have a look at, 'Boney M. Gotta Go Home (Long Version, 1979)'. you'll LOVE IT.
Many of us grew up with them in Europe in the seventies (and many other groups). They had such a cool and simple vibe.
Just forget about all the lip-syncing BS (that was the norm in many cases in the older days). that people like to cry about. They were artist doing their jobs (and trying surviving) and, at the same, bringing joy to many people. Only the nit-picking nut cases still "remember" those stories.
Dont get fooled, this band was competing with ABBA back in the days
Somebody call MC Hammer and tell him to come get his pants back.😊😂😂
Russian and Turks Caicos I believe.
There’s A TON of shuffle dancing competitions and Tik Toks of people dancing to this.
This is a tic tock song lol 😂
Shooting of this clip takes place in the USSR
Let's give it to JJ for the variety in the videos dropped in this group of uploads!! I prefer Falco for this genre, but it is an entertaining watch.☮
Yes I concurred I remember this artist he was hilarious to me….lol
I thought some of them were Dutch? But it's a German group.. singing a song about Russia in Turkish clothing
the song about me
Haha who put you on to Boney M 😭
He never really sang, the voice coms from Frank Farian
Bro pls react to Boney-M Sunny
ITS RUSSIA 🇷🇺
This is the first American pop group to come to the USSR
Awful German produced disco that’s what it’s not even him singing
The same producer of Milli Vanilli.
