- The best idea for a cheap and small Harry Potter set is the Flying Ford Anglia, but with this model being the 5th at this scale, is it a little TOO late for fans to get behind this set?

A licensed Lego car that fits two figures side by side for $15? I had to make sure I was awake.
Yeah same I had to rub my eyes and make sure it sayed 15$ US dollars usually Lego makes sets like this 20$-25$ and it’s really annoying

Yeah, double licensed with both Ford and Harry Potter.
SAME I got it yesterday because the price was just too good to pass
I feel like ever since Lego released those stand alone 1966 Batmobile & Tumbler sets in 2021, lego has realised that licensed sets that just have a famous vehicle and some desirable minifigs by themselves at a reasonable price actually sell really well! It also works especially well for people like me who love collecting lego versions of famous pop culture vehicles!
Hopefully the leaked Forbidden Forest: Aragog can all be added up with the polybag, the Ford Anglia and the forbidden creatures sets.
Pretty solid set if you're a newcomer to the theme or a broad collector overall.
As someone who doesn't have a Ford Anglia, I might pick it up due to how affordable it is, but it's nothing insane or groundbreaking: just alright

The set may be late, but it's never too late for LEGO to make a new cheese slope piece.
I absolutely love this set! I really think that now they need to make a forest variant- all banged up and with prints for smashed/cracked windows. (More realistically stickers, but it would be nice to have prints) the set would include exclusive dirtied up CoS Harry and Ron and also the new Fang minifig, and a few spiders sprinkled in because why not?
It could be almost like a bigger version (similiar anyhow) to the Mirkwood set from one of the Hobbit movie waves? Just bigger spiders and all of that stuff

I'm so glad lego decided to make this. I've always wanted the little Ford Anglia but I had zero interest in the other stuff it came with before and I didn't want to pay for something I don't want

As someone who wanted this bad as a kid but was always disappointed because it always came in a huge set and not standalone, I was pleased that it was finally brought to market as just the car. Kudos Lego

Great vid. Depressingly, I am old enough to remember the real life 'Panda' cars back in the 1960s!! It was quite a radical departure from the traditional dark blue police cars. I made a MOC version for my own Lego City where it is permanently 1963.
I don’t have any Harry Potter sets. This looks like a good one to pick up and display with some of the other vehicles that I have already. Thanks for the review!

Fellow Gryffindor here! Just got this set last night! Its so good! I love it!
First off, I was a huge Potter fan but it’s not a LEGO theme I collect. Like Star Wars there’s simply too much. My primary theme is Speed Champions. I started a sub-collection of vehicles from movies. So excited went this set was noticed. I have it flying above the rest of the collection.
I was able to get scabbers and the suitcase both in the trunk perfectly by putting scabbers in first with the head facing the drivers side, then the suit case fying flat with the handle pointing out
Maybe it's just nostalgia but I still love the first version from 2002.

to be honest, the colour upgrade is a good thing but it is nothing short of embarrassing that Lego still refuses to properly print white on other colours (best visible at 2:01). That can not be more than one layer. For a supposed "Premium Product", they must do better. I wish reviewers and (ideally) LAN people would push for improvements in that regard.
Especially since some 4+ play-sets feature more opaque prints than this licensed one, which can also be expected to get used as display model. Then again, maybe we should already be grateful the white line isn't another sticker... Also, around 3:00 you can see some "fun" color difference between for example the solid 1 x 2 cheese slopes and other parts.

Yeah, their motto is "Only the best is good enough" so they NEED to uphold that, and they really don't.

It’s an acrylic stand by wicked brick! The one I bought is the second shorted angled one and I’m pretty sure it’s apart of what they call the ‘Vario’ range. I’ve used it for larger builds too and had it for almost three years now, I love their stuff.

I don't really see anything wrong with a standalone Ford Anglia set, it's a good much more affordable alternative for those who wanted the car but didn't want to spend quite a lot on the sets that included the car like the Whomping Willow and Privet Drive sets. Unless those were found at really heavy discounts. The printing on the doors is terrible though.
The amount of complaints about this I've been seeing, like you don't have to buy this if you don't want it, no one is forcing you to get it. However, it's taken far too long for such a set like this to come out.
Holly's videos are too good. I get in trouble so much, and I can hear my wallet yelling at me again.... :)

the biggest appeal, to me, is that harry and ron can sit side-by-side. in the last 2 ford anglias, harry had to sit behind ron. 😒

I've been waiting for a set like this for 15+ years now 😅 Always wanted flying Ford from Harry Potter as a kid, but could never afford the sets it was in, and now a few days back my girlfriend gave me this exact set, so it's like a dream become true in the best way 🥹

Seats 2 side by side and $15 which means you can probably end up getting it for $10-12. Definitely worth upgrading to in my 2018 whomping willow set
I’ve been wanting a set like this. I always liked the car from this scene, but I didn’t care for the Dursley House build from 2019
The lack of exclusivity takes the value away from this but if your on a budget this is ideal

I thought fixed shorties were history.
They use those legs for movies 3&4 minifigures, though I’m surprised they didn’t do brick built sitting legs like were included in Rivendell from Lord Of The Rings

I think this would be a great companion to the UCS Hogwarts Express or the 2023 one.
I love this set! I like HP but not enough to buy the bigger playsets or the Hogwarts castle. However, since I collect cars and Speed Champions, this will fit very nicely to my collection. Car looks great, minifigures look great and the price looks even better!

A solid 2x1 cheese slope!? Man, I stopped collecting Lego a couple years ago because I don't have the space or money for it. But the tendency to vicariously enjoy reviews and mocs really isn't helping.
While it is a nice set that is good in case you just want the car, either as a HP fan or maybe just a lover of LEGO cars, I feel like it should've had printed parts. Just to make it slightly more lucrative to buy. The more correct colour and updated minifigs are not enough to justify it in my personal opinion.
Happy to get this separately from other builds. And with the new Hogwarts express you can buy that if you want it too.

I love it just totally wish it was in speed champions scale. The 8 stud difference would've really helped with more details and even for incorporating any features
I’m so interest to see how it would look at that scale cause the upgrade you could have would be wild in comparison to this and the other latest models
Best not give Lego any ideas of making stuff even more expensive than necessary. Sure, making it larger to be like the Speed Champions sets could be cool, but it wouldn't make much sense when the template was already there for many years with the previous Ford Anglia cars from the Whomping Willow and Privet Drive sets.
And people would be complaining about scale and why Lego didn't just remake it from the two sets I mentioned. I'm not even sure making it bigger would really add any meaningful value to it over what we have here already; also, it would be awkwardly oversized next to other things like say Hogwarts Express!

I actually like it since I could place the car on a desk and fiddle with it whenever I need a break. Based on its size, I could also see it as being placed in front of the UCS Hogwarts Express to recreate that bridge scene from the Chamber of Secrets film.
Funny you say that because I saw someone do that exact thing! They used a couple of the clear superhero stand pieces and some clear bricks and it was incredible. I want to do it for myself
Somehow they’ve once again failed to get the look of a real Ford Anglia, the bit that bothers me is the rear portion of the cabin, that back window and upright supports just ruin the look. Sorry to have to say that.
Harry Potter Speed Champions! How is it that they can offer this set so cheaply compared to a speed champions set? Both have IPs attached to them, sure a speed champions set typically has more pieces but this set comes with 2 minifigures rather than one and two animal character pieces! 🤔🤷😂
Minifigures are not the end all be all that determines value; and this is a smaller car overall than those Speed Champions sets, so of course it's priced cheaper accordingly.
Mostly scale I presume, less new moulds/recolours as well as less licensing fees since this doesn’t need to have a variety of brands on it
