fuck. i don't like this. well it's not that i don't like it, but i think i expect more from flume. maybe I'm holding him on too much of a pedestal. he's been my favorite artist since i heard paper thin and the every little step remix. i have listened to every song on his self titled album probably a million times, and i was so hyped for the drop of skin. the teaser sounded pretty good, but the album totally disappointed me. besides lose it, take a chance, and smoke & retribution, everything else just didn't have that jaw dropping addictiveness that his self titled album did. i still saw him on tour for the second time in my life, this time his skin tour, and he was still amazing because he's still a massively talented artist and a genre bender no matter what my opinion is, but i just feel like there hasn't been one massively mind blowing drop from him in so long. i thought the my boo like a version was pretty good and had a little bit more of that original flume sound, but i mean if you look at the tennis courts and you & me remixes compared to this it's almost kind of anticlimactic. i NEVER want to put an artist into a box and ask them to not change, his style is evolving and i respect that and know a ton of people are into his new style. i just wanted to share my opinion in the music community to see if anyone else has been a long time fan and is a little disappointed, or if I'm crazy. sorry about the essay lol

I love Flume album. Skin too, but you can't compare these two. Skin Companion EP II sounds more like Flume really is, especially Heater. But this EP is not what I expected from him
