I know this was about puffers, but I woke up my wife and said "See you can keep a sturgeon in a fish tank!"

Yeah as fish keepers you always have to be willing to learn more sometimes we feel like we know it all, it never gets old when something comes along and you realize that there is so much still to be learned!! Very cool video corvus Joel

"Refreshing" to hear someone with a fish room find that keeping tanks in living space is also a good option. I have been thinking of consolidating my tanks to racks (9 in my large bedroom and 5 in my eat in kitchen). I thought moving them more compactly would decrease maintenance time, but I'm not sure the trade off of not having them around me is worth it. This is another awesome video with a lot of time spent editing. Liked everything about this vid. Thanks Joel!

you said something interesting about the difference between a fishroom and how this guy does it. in my opinion you should have a grand show piece somewhere in your living space like your living room or bedroom so you can have the same interaction as him but still have the fish room and silence everywhere else in your house

Very nice video. Great job with the voice over. Good tone and pace. You stayed calm, direct and left empty time for viewing the puffers.. Crisp video with nice cuts. Very impressive. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.

Looks like a very young Sturgeon towards the end. I rarely see them that small, most of the ones I used to catch were shakers, smaller than 38 inches, but still much larger than that little guy. Its the ones over 48 inches that used to give me the most fun. Catch and release fishing mostly with the sturgeon. Catfish and walleye came home with me.

I was reviewing this video thinking all the videos that say you can only house a single puffer of this species in specific size of tank and this guy is breaking all those rules. Did he say how many varieties he had ? I am like you this man's knowledge on puffers is got to be a wealth of information on how to achieve the most effective results with puffers. I believe you own it to yourself to extend a relationship with this gentleman to find out more and maybe inspire him to share that knowledge not only with you but other puffer enthusiasts around the world. As very few don't like puffers most like their quirky antics, personalities and looks and it draws them in, but only one in a tank is a expensive commitment that very few are willing to do. That might explained why breeding them has been been without much success. Something this man is doing has merit to those that wish for multiples in a tank within a limited space. And in doing so may result in greater opportunities for tank raised puffer availability thus powering the cost and less harvesting of the wild populations.

I'm late to the party but stunned by this video, to date I've not met one person who is not captivated by any puffer and isn't a fan of any... as I'm posting this comment I'm rescaping and converting my juwel trigon 350 to an ultimate puffer display tank it's a couple of months away as floor tiles have to be laid but I'll repost here when finished.. take care and enjoy the new year...

    • @AquaMayne

@@CorvusOscen Mainly wondering temperature, diet, ph (if ph matters), hardness. really any ways that will increase the chance to spawn. I'm doing a heavily planted tank and about 5 of them in a 20 gallon. Ive started quarantine with meds. Lost a few that refused to eat frozen food (it was to late when I brought home live food for them).
