Great "Lessons Leaned" I hadn't considered the need for recalibration as the house settles over time. Thanks for taking the time to document the maintenance phase of this project and for sharing your experience.
Thats a nice setup for cockpit use, but with the recent improvements in mixed reality software/hardware, my big triple screen setup is now gathering dust. All the best.
@@UndeadParrot Certainly, also your setup is quite an investment in time/money, as I know from my own big multiscreen setup. Still keep mine available for friends who cannot stomach VR. But only recently MR has improved were it is very useable. If for nothing more then to know what is available, See 'Ross Barlow' and 'The Warthog Project' latest videos about mixed reality. It is surprisingly good for the money.
I also plan to recreate the Cookpit setup and now I get the news that you are planning a new project. wonderful. I'm so excited about your new Cookpit project. I can barely wait for it. Will it be some kind of expansion or something completely new?
I'm starting with OpenHornet plans (still CNC assembly in progress) and build it as a base, but make it more modular. First I'll finish it with SC modules but planning to continue slowly with (almost) 1:1 Hornet cockpit modules. So it won't be 100% OpenHornet but I'll use that stuff where I can. What I really want to make is a modular front assembly, besides the side panels. This way I could switch the whole front part and e.g. use joystick on right side for SC, with keyboard and mouse tray at front, and then center stick for Hornet.
In case you're interested in how I build the curved screen, check this video out: ua-cam.com/video/EfFCBRN1yhk/v-deo.html

Very cool. Oh and I would like to add, I don't know about other's but this old school space combat sim pilot is VERY green with envy
Thank you.

Yeah, it's really matter of taste and I can understand that VR / AR is best option for most of the people.

I always wondered how much fun the calbration was for your setup now I know :)
Do you use head tracking? Does that present any problems?
Yeah, I have Tobii EyeTracker 5 there. Stil need to use it in dogfighting etc. It works nicely, though naturally not with eye tracking.

Do you use the advanced or the ultimate edition?
I'm planning to do a flight simulator by myself but I still don't know wich one I need.
I have the Ultimate since it comes with the Immersive Calibration Pro.
