The entrance to the mine is up on the spot you showed in the video where you said you thought it was. Went in there last year. If you don’t want to do that diagonal stretch you can hike along the road next to the fence until you come to June bug mine road then head up the road to the canyon

Thank you for the video. I can see June Bug Mine from my house- I never knew it was there. We will have to check it out.

Great video! I just moved to the area and am only about 3.5 miles from this mine. Been looking for something cool like this and am going to check it out ASAP. Unfortunately, I don't have the geological expertise that you do, and would love to understand more about the area and the mine itself. Please reach out if you ever need a hiking buddy, and look forward to learning more!

I was just there two days ago. I ride my mountain bike all over that area. In the fourties, fifties and early sixties, that was all the bombing range. The original Nellis AFB was out there. It’s very interesting to find old military armament scattered throughout the area. It’s getting too hot to be out there now, but if you have a tough bike or something, I’d go out with you.

Very nice finds! I might have to check it out. Do you know what the deposit is on the left side of the i-15 going south past sloan a few miles from the race track? I thought it was a fire pit but there is some sort of deposit that looks like asphalt mix that was mined at one time. Very grainy and it falls apart in your hands..

Sounds like the mine was deliberately sealed up by you know who. I hate when that happens! Pretty cool video nonetheless. A lot of those mines around Goodsprings were gated and sealed over 10 years ago. Keep up the good work!

I do think that they sealed that entrance up in that tailing pile indeed. They left the other entrance open, but the tailings were so steep and eroded that going up there was way too dangerous... I’m sure they purposefully did that. Thank you!

Cool video with some great rock analysis. I've wanted to check out that mine for a while, there has to be an opening out there somewhere.

By the look of those tailings they must have had some heavy duty crushing equipment. Any sign of remains of that?

@@scottystiffchicken if you drive around the back side of gass peak through corn springs, you can make your way around to the mine

Do you think it's possible to take a dirt bike to the mine? I'd be interested to go but I'd rather ride my dirt bike than walk all that distance
Side note to anyone exploring there as well, be careful, there are side winders and diamondback rattlesnakes, there are even coyotes and Bob cats. I personally would bring something for protection if you go there
