Imagine someone writing a song about you 2000 years later that has a better ending than what probably happened to you back then. For me, this song reflects the hope and magic that she may not have found during her lifetime. If the Yde girl was really sacrificed I hope she found a better place after death than during her lifetime.
Earlier examinations of the body before most of it deteriorated to nothing say she suffered from scoliosis and was 4'6. It's rumoured she and a small boy about 7-10 years old with a hip deformity that would have left him unable to walk were sacrificed by their people as they were unfavoured by the gods and their people wanted to appease them

When you know what the song is about these lyrics really give you chills🥶
One of my absolute favorite treats from listening to Blackbriar, as someone who studies and teaches fairy tales and folk stories, is that I discover new lore all the time, especially folklore from places I've never been to and haven't heard of. I didn't know about the Yde Girl or the Witte Wieven before listening to this song and as soon as it was over, I went to research more about them. Then, I came back and noticed more things in the video I hadn't understood before, like the sprang around her neck being removed by the Witte Wieven or how she holds her collarbone where the wound was located. You are fantastic storytellers and Zora is inspiring ♥

I'm rewatching because I still haven't had enough of this video and wonderful song. I love that it is you guys giving the lady of the bog a nice place in the ... "underworld" to be.
There was once this young girl that was henry II's "mistress"... ( probably she no saying in the matter but ) anyway, she had been properly buried in the place where she supposedly died, Godstow abbey. But a Bishop came up one day and saw her grave full of flowers and tributes, very much loved, so he had her dug up and re-buried in some other place outside the cemetery and the property because he considered her a "harlet"... very sad. She became known as Rosamund Clifford, even though "rosamund" might not ever have been her name, but it means "rose of the world" and she was considered the most beautiful lady back then... some people claimed that she became a grey ghost in Godstow Abbey, after having been "re-buried"... I did a watercolor painting in which she became a nayad. A nymph of the lakes and streams, that protects her waters and no one can mess with her... it's a resting place for her... in this video you guys do this for Yde. That's beautiful. ❤❤❤

Busque "Yde lady of the Bog" y me encontré con que en Holanda, 1897, fue encontrado el cuerpo de una niña de 16 años, momificada, con una puñalada en las clavículas y con signos de haber sido estrangulada a manera de ritual. Es una historia muy triste ya que la pequeña, sufría de escoliosis. Y ahora su cuerpo momificado es exhibido en un museo.
