Mahalo brotha!! such a cool mod. Thanks for a bit of humility doing these projects as well , we all have to have with these 20+ year old yota's. I just got done working on oahu at two different hospitals. Couldn't bring my 2000 runner with but MAN love seeing all the SICK Yotas on the island. Best of luck With all those projects brotha . Mahalo once again

thanks Ben. I alway try to show my mistakes. thats the only way people will learn and make accurate decisions. I will be the first to say that I mess a lot of things up.
Just finished this mod and its great. Stock amber fog lights but i can deal with it. Amber has is advantages at night. Thanks again for showing the world this 💚💪
Thanks bro. But I have to give credit to the FortuneStatus boys. I am a firm Believer in giving credit where credit is due. And thanks for checking out my video. Have a good day bro
Nice bro! I’ve been watching fortune status for a while now! I was going to ask you if you guys lived on the same island. You Hawaiians are talented and have many skills!
Loved your video. Forst time watching. ❤❤❤❤. Liked how detailed you were and everything, that's very great. Even admitting ur mistakes no matter HOW MANY TIMES YOU HAD TO CORRECT IT. BUT LIKE YOU SAID 3RD TIMES THE CHARM. LOL. MMMMM I WONDER HOW LED'S IF THAT WASN'T WHAT YOU USED. I REALLY WONDER JUST HOW BRIGHT THEY WOULD BE, CAUSE I USE LED 4 ALMOST EVERYTHING ON MY 3RD GEN EXXXCEPT 4 THAT. BRIGHT WHITE L.E.D. CORNERING BULBS. SMALL 194'S
@infinteprojects808 I did this mod on my 1997 SR5 4runner, and I have switched out all of the exterior lights with led bulbs, when I went to turn on my day time running lights it caused the tail light (10 AMP) fuse to blow. I had to put in a larger fuse to get this work. I don't know if there should be a different solution i should consider. Anyone else experience this? Is there a better solution?
Adding a larger fuse might be dangerous as now there is more voltage flowing. I would look into why its blowing. Maybe a grounding issue or you might need a relay or use “tail as turn” system.
negative, the side corner marker is just a running light. Im sealing the power from the corner marker to power the white light in the bumper, then the switch back breaks the power and the bumper light will flash as a turn signal, then return to white when its done flashing. let me know if you have other questions. email me. mbinfiniteprojects@gmail.com
I plan on doing this mod this weekend. Was hoping that the 194 corner lights could also be switchback. I have white bulbs in the corners now and would be nice if I could get them to flash yellow with the signals.
I just wishes you could have dropped a link to the place the bulbs were bought and go from there. God Bless You and hoping 2024 BRINGS YOU A MOST VALUABLE AND PROFITABLE NEWYEAR. ONCE AGAIN. GOD BLESS YOU MY BROTHER.
thanks Mean GreeN, I hope that was a joke about the headlight covers, hahahaha. to be honest with you, the LED lights were blinding drivers so grabbed my can of Plasti Dip and sprayed it. It just ended up looking like that. LOLOLOLOL but if it looks good, then yes I did intentionally. have a good day bro.
they are just regular connector type that you use for grounding speakers or any type of wire. I just cut one of the legs off. it looked like a fork at first.
Hey bud I just watch youre video I have a 03 Toyota Tacoma I really want to do the same you did my turn signal connector has an extra pin do you think I can do the same thing with out doing all the work you did just running another wire but I wonder if I have to replace the bulb since I have just flashing bulbs
I would use a volt meter and see what the is used for. It could be a running late, an ignition, parking light, or turn signal, either way you can pick and choose once you isolate and find the power source.
I just did this to my 03 taco you can run a wire to the hole on the socket and get power from Conner light green wire and get led switchback bulbs. Now I’m having problems with my led bulb getting super hot inside the socket no idea why . Was about to ask him . Nice work buy the way
Hahahaha. This is actually to stop the light from blinding other drivers. Everyone that changes out to HID or LED don’t realize they are blinding other drivers. This was my solution 🤙🤙
Excellent video! Awesome work. I love the 3rd Gen 4Runner. Question: I noticed when you tested the blinker, the top blinkers didn’t work, the ones you spliced into with the Red wire. Is that normal? Thanks again for your contribution.
thanks bro. I'm not sure why is stopped, maybe it was not connected good or some gremlins messing with me but everything works perfect now. but if it works, then I'll take a win any way I can get it.
@@infiniteprojects808 If I understand the original question correctly, and the 3rd gen runners perform the same as the 99-04 Taco's, that "top blinker" is actually just a parking light and doesn't act as a turn signal. So your wiring should be spot on if that is the case.
@@infiniteprojects808 Rajahh I gotta order the parts. What pins you used to put into the factory blinker connector? You have pins you put on the 2 wires?
@@infiniteprojects808 do you know if I can put daytime running light to a switch so i can turn it on and off or does it need power at all times? Can put switch right?
your going to laugh when I tell you. these headlights are not designed to HID or good LEDs. so when I put the LED in. the light was shinning in other cars. I angled it down as much as it would go but that was not enough. so grabbed some painters tape and my plasti dip can. this is what I ended up with. and you can peal it off at any time. hope this helps your project also. 🤙
my 98 Limited had yellow lights down front, and they only activate when the turn signa is on, not as driving lights. So, does anyone have any thought? I'd love to put these in, but it seems its a no-go. As you all know, the older 4Runners do not have great headlights, even though I added the really nice Sylvania ultra brights, they are still nowhere near as bright as a modern light. In fact, I can put on the high beams, and almost nobody will flash me, because its just not that bright. So I could really use these driving lights down under. Yes, I bought the Hella fog lights, in white or I could put the yellow shield on it. They are not wired yet, but will be soon. So, I guess I'm open to re-wiring these driving lights to bright white, that way the Hellas can remain a true (yellow) fog light. Feedback welcomed.
you could put a four pin relay in, and tap into the ignition fuse or any low power source to activate it. or just tap into the engine fuse box and grab power wire that turns on when the ignition is on.
that was actually a mistake sort of. the LEDs were blinding cars and just so happens that it was this angle that blocks the light from blinding cars. I used Plasti Dip. hahahahaha
I was wondering where the relay went!!! IT all seemed to work, even without it. So, I'm partway done, but I was testing the lights, the bulbs, and I heard a little "zing noise" so I'm not sure if during testing I fried it. I touched two wires (red and green?) to the battery, the yellow light came on, (good) touched the other wire (red and white) and it zinged. I smelled a bit of ozone, which I thought was not good, so I'm at a standstill. No need to do all the wiring if they are now bad, I did change over the light housings to a white one, all new, and I have all the connections and the relay. Is there a SAFE way to check these bulbs??? The good news is, the fog lights work, and while it took longer, the rear lights work as well. But oddly, the light in the (OEM) button does not seem to light up. Which is disappointing. FYI: 1998 Limited, 315K, from Cali, so not a speck of rust! First thing I did (after a new timing belt, water pump and radiator) was to put in a new windshield! IT was pitted and had a chip, but the new glass really makes the car feel so much newer!! I highly recommend it, even if you think you don't "need" it.
A safe way to test would be with a voltage meter. Or even a 9V house battery would work.if you do use the car battery as a test source, i would use a 2.5 amp fuse. I rather blow fuses than parts.
I just want to point out the fact that 1. Have fun ever changing out your bulbs with that caulking. They have rubber o rings for a reason. 2. You caulked your bulbs for "water proofing" but you used cheap butt connectors without any heat shrink. I could give the butt connectors a pass over Solder. But you didn't even water proof your connections.
i used caulking to hold the bulb socket in, not for water proofing. this a work truck beater and not a show truck. this is not my GTR therefore I dont mind being lazy with the quality of the build. the main thing is just have fun no matter what the outcome or the end results. 😁😁
