- 1993 single charting at #23 in the UK (as a double A-side with 'Hobart Paving'), and #5 on the US dance play chart. Guest vocalist Debsey Wykes, from Dolly Mixture, sings on the chorus with Saint Etienne singer Sarah Cracknell. This is a cover version of a song originally performed by Candlewick Green.
How good where st Etienne . I would have been 11 when this came out . Used to listen to them with my older brother. Still here in 2024
a time that has sadly gone... certainly halcyon days
One of 90's little gems...
Many memories of post evening/morning at Club UK, Wansworth, and let's just say, listening until sleep took over and the night before wore off!
As a 61 year old I still remember Jigsaw's version of this from the mid 70s.This version is very in keeping with the 90s and sounds a lot better now (in my opinion) than it did in the 90s, but I suppose getting on a bit mellows you out!. Another bonus in this video is seeing the London Skyline from back in the day, very nostalgic.
Not Jigsaw. Camberwick Green
Sarah, Debsy, Pete & Bob sublime and brilliant as usual, halcyon days…
This is one of these songs that I REALLY shouldn't like AT ALL! But I just REALLY love it! There's just something about it! SO GOOD!
Yeah, it's super simple but the opening keyboard riff is great.
Bliss-inducing!!
Debsie was the best singer, Sarah was the beauty and the personality that sold the band.
Beautiful!
A tranquil treat ❤️❤️❤️

This is so fantastic!
Wow! A Remake.....originally done by "Jigsaw" in the 1970's....
Sounds good!
Class.
Groovy London 91-95❤
Why do I have the sudden urge to listen to Cathy Dennis?
aaaY
Being from Lancashire there is not a cat in halls chance that I could say or sing 'advantage' or advawntage like Sarah does
So this video was uploaded over 12 years, but it has now just recently reappeared after it was taken off UA-cam for years.
It's like the Event Horizon of music videos
@@RazorFriendlyA lot of videos that were gone for years, or were territory-restricted have been reappearing on UA-cam for a while now. I wonder what changed.
@@kevsoho That's a good question.
@@RazorFriendly Almost all videos from the early to mid 90s First Avenue Records artists were available on UA-cam, but their mid to late 90s videos were not. Now, almost all of those videos are back on UA-cam.
Top birds
It’s a cover of a seventies band called Camberwick Green. This version is sterile!
