I’ve enjoyed this video as there isn’t a lot of unnecessary talking in it. It shows you some beautiful scenery, walks along tracks. I like going on walk in parts of the country I’m holidaying in.
That’s a lovely trail to summit of Snowdon I’ve never done it that way ! Hardly a soul about too! A bonus 🙏🏼 thx for the share subscribed all the best worth the hikes 👍
Earlier comments on here are miserable, nasty, unnecessary and lacking a humane intelligence. A great route I haven't hiked yet but will certainly give it a go. Thanks guys Namaste
The path next door to the Rhyd Ddu route, the Snowdon Ranger, this is the best route up the mountain. Due to its ease of navigation, its the safest route for all abilities, and the route is never in doubt. For the majority of people, who just want to stand on the highest point, south of the Scottish Highlands, the Snowdon Ranger is the best route.
@@Gav_80085 I think the last time the round trip took a gentle five hours or maybe a little more. That was about 10 years ago when I was in my youth (60).
My favourite route is the South Ridge - start along the Watkin Path before splitting off to Bwlch Cwm Lan, really nice route up then with a few little bits of scrambling and finally joining the Rhyd Ddu path just before Bwlch Main for the ridge and last section to the top. Usually pair this with a full descent on the Watkin.
We were really lucky with the weather, the views to the west were stunning, with Ireland visible across the sea. Hardly a soul to be seen on the way up, with everyone else seemingly using the “main” routes. Can’t recommend this track enough.
Hi, the comment above referring to a circular walk wasn’t me I’m afraid. My route featured in the video was a straight “up and down” along the path starting at the Rhyd Ddu car park. Hope this helps.
I would class Snowden as a hard walk for anyone wanting to try it. Become familiar with your route and be prepared for all kinds of bad weather as it can change in a heartbeat. Treat the mountain with respect.
So it depends on the season, but ignoring winter when the paths can be hidden by deep snow, the Llanberis path is the most straightforward. However it's also quite long. The other routes have some scrambling sections but nothing particularly technical or demanding. However if weather is bad (in terms of visibility or wind) there can some sketchy bits in some sections on some of the routes. If you have hiked other trails in hills/mountains before Snowdon will likely be easily doable for you. If you have never done anything like it before, it's a strenuous day out. In terms of fitness, if you can walk uphill for 4 hours then downhill again then you will be ok. Wear suitable footwear, bring water and food (particularly in 2021 as the cafe will be shut). Temperature is typically about 10deg colder at the summit compared with ground level, and the weather can change pretty rapidly, so dress appropriately. Pathfinding/navigation doesn't get any easier due to the thousands of people there most of the year.
Llanberis route is long ,boring, very busy, longish parts poor underfoot, but it has a halfway cafe,if that's not important, stick with this.I won't do that way again.
@@flatmoon6359 Agreed. We went up Rhyd Ddu yesterday and back down Llanberis because the weather was getting increasingly worse and made conditions dangerous, but it took so much longer and there were so many people and the rocks were really slippy
Really depends on the fitness of the individual, but anyone with an average ability would take around 3 hours taking it easy I’d say. Longer with regular stops to admire the amazing views!
Don't tell anyone???? It's like a circus up there any which way you people choose to go.very very disheartening for us locals. isn't there a lovely mountain in your country you can vandalise and swamp.
It's a public place. Where do you think the money for Snowdonia comes from? Answer: the public spending their money in a place they can rightfully enjoy. As someone else said, you don't own it

It's my favourite route up, the down the Sonwdon Ranger, cutting across back to the Rhy Ddu carpark for a nice circular walk.
How long does that route take?

Wow, fancy bumping into David Cameron at the summit! This route is one of the shortest, not very demanding and relatively quiet.
It wasn't him, was it?
Really?
Surely not.......????🤯
I thought exactly the same!
i dont think david cameron would stand on a precipce with general public within shoving distance
Theresa May has been seen walking in Snowdonia.
David Cameron came straight to my mind too 😂
Love these type of walks, where there is total peace, no mobiles or those bloody drones buzzing above your head.
Fabulous little video !

Yes I agree I did the South Ridge and it was very cool :)

On a more serious note thank you for giving me this info it looks like an amazing route
That looks like a nice route - no people. The first time I climbed was from the back along the ridge, in 1967.

Done that exact root this morning 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Going up Ben Nevis next week 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@uknow7236 which path?
What a great video, and yes it is a great route!
Thanks!
You need many Lynx in GB. All forests are devastated by the sheep.
Is there any unavoidable exposure?
Lovely
Nice video I did this route last year.
Wonderful
Crib Goch can't be beat for me
You’re a braver man than me!
@@PetesSmallVanSyndrome oh it's not that bad. I found Tryfan much scarier
I prefer Crib Goch to Tryfan.
@@simonsherratt1484 other way round for me.
Looks simple compared to others I guess and I will probably climb it some day
I did it yesterday it's actually pretty steep and rocky, with a scramble nearer the top. Was tough but worth it!
Hi great video, could you post the link for the circular walk you did plz

looks a nice route
Shhssh!
Which one is the easiest route to climb, also how fit you need to be to climb up to the top?

Thanks for the comment! Think you’re taking the tongue in cheek caption a little too seriously though mate.

post code please
If you mean the postcode for the start of the walk, I’m sorry but I don’t have it. The start point is found on any Ordinance Survey maps of the area.
It's super easy to find awesome to do south ridge up n rydd du down
Don't tell anyone ? You've just put it on you tube 🤣
Looks like you’re taking my “tongue in cheek” title a bit seriously John. Just enjoy the walk mate.
