There's some decent rough rider knives for 9.99 + that cut and are fun. Bbbut I edc a civivi elementum and would like a tear drop Damascus chris reeves, my stimulus check just won't cover it.
A couple of years ago I thought a $500 knife was ludicrous and I never wore a watch. Today I watched this video with my paisley sebenza in my pocket and my explorer ii polar on my wrist. With love- Damn you Nick!!!
didnt get a chance to watch the video but came to give it a like and comment because of the title. i cant stop buying chris reeve knives. When the wife asks, we have 3 sons, i need 6 sebenzas.
Me several years ago, "I like knives but who ever needs a knife over $200?" Me last week, "Ohh my Sebenza came in, let me order this XM-18. *click click click*"
I think we've all been there 😂 my first knife was a pm3, I thought 150 was a good limit. That soon turned to 200 when I got a 0450cf (thanks to mr. Nick) oh ya, then nick convinced me to spend 240 on a 0452cf a week later, then came 14 knives with the sebenza 21 somewhere in there. 14 knives in about 5 months, crazy how addicting it really is
I just merged my watch collecting with my knife collecting, and forwent the purchase of an updated Brietling Aerospace Ti to fund an entire year of knife purchases. Just caught a snap release of a Sebenza and pulled the trigger (and that followed my snatching up a Jeff Park Customs MiniBones). Stay safe, and thanks for all you do for the community..
I came on UA-cam because I made a plan to make a knife you can hold sabre grip or punch dagger grip with no moving handle. Then I thought: now there's something novelty enough to be a candidate for stainless Damascus! So I wanted to look at knives made from it and saw a Sebenza in Spirograph!!!!! Man, I never wanted a Sebenza more. The KnifeCenter exclusive Sebenza really grabbed me, earlier this Summer, but it's more than sold out! They're made a few hours West of me. I'd love to have that hard to find, hard to get one! I'll live without it, but not like I'm gonna hide my eyes from them!
I’m all for purchasing something that brings you a little bit of joy! That’s a very nice piece. I’ve also found myself eyeing decorated Sebenzas. You’re definitely helping me justify an order.
I just have to say, your channel has brought about a reawakening of my love for knives. I bought my first benchmade for 110 about a month ago and thought, thats as far as this goes. So I bought a ZT0707 last week, ah well, thats how it goes.
Your night sky Sebenza is a beautiful cutting tool. The variation in engraving depth, proportion, and colors give the illusion of depth and transparency as not to hide the knife underneath, something I really appreciate. I'm not a knife collector (yet), but a well thought out precision tool brings a smile to my face every time I pick it up. If this knife makes you smile Nick, then it was worth every penny. I purchased a ZT 0562ti yesterday. It's way more knife than I'll ever need, but I have a feeling it'll be worth it :)
They didn’t “miss” anodizing those tree branches. The moon is supposed to be lighting them up. Knives of that caliber dont leave the shop with blatant mistakes.
Lmao. Yes they do. I’ve been buying CRKs for almost 15 years and I’ve owned 37 over that time. I have had CRKs come with blatant mistakes that I caught within seconds of opening the box. Not small bit picky stuff, either. But I’ve also had CRKs that were, for all intents and purposes, perfect. CRK certainly isn’t infallible though.
@@johnd9357 wow! Crazy. What a piece of shit then. I’d never buy another if one had any obvious imperfections at that price. I’m not a fan anyway so I guess I’ll never know first hand. I’ve never understood the love they get.

Thats a pretty knife. I just got my first sebenza as a gift from my father. I remember being a small lady, and when I got into knives, the sebenza was his grail knife. Since he has 1 or 2 and come to find out, he ordered me a small 21 too, dual thumb studs, micarta inlays. I love it.
I live in Boise and go to the Idaho Knife Association show every year. Chris Reeve Knives is a major sponsor. Most years I come home with a new CRK knife. Every year I come home with some new knives. COVID-19 restrictions might have saved me some money this year!
It’s good when a knife reminds you that despite being jaded by the hobby from time to time, there’s still one or two that’ll get the juices flowing. Congrats!
Right there with ya Nick. Been carrying around my sebbie for over a year, and just couldn’t shake the thought that I needed to try the Inkosi also. So now I have each. WORTH it.
🤣🤣🤣Nicolas... excelente video amigo. Been purchasing that way as well, just a need for the channel. Where might all this lead to? The heck if I know 😁👍
I’ve two Sebenzas, a small 31 pj and a large 31 black micarta, and to me, they are just great go to work knives. Not particularly flash, just good solid knives. I’m in the U.K. so the cost more like $500 and $750, but that goes with the territory. Not my most expensive, but certainly up there- and I think they’re worth every penny!
‘Don’t get into watches! But if you do happen to, check this one out! ‘. ‘And this one!’ And so on lol. It’s very pretty. Have thought so since last year. Thanks for sharing.
Got a small 31 with polished magnacut blade coming tomorrow Can’t wait Gonna keep this one I think I learned my lesson I’ve had quite a few and I always sell them besides that one I lost. THAT SOLAR SYSTEM UG RAINDROP DAMASCUS woulda stayed a keeper
I had a sebenza 31 sometime in 2020 from Blade Hq and it was an absolute pos out of the box. It had play in every direction and they wouldn't fix it. Ended up modding it so it wouldn't have any really for the person I sold it to 3-4 months ago. A litte over a week ago, I got a large inkosi tanto with natural micarta inlays and it's so much better for what I do & it's actually holding up. It's such a great knife so far!
I had a Sebenza 25 for a while, just to see what all the hubub was about. It was a nice knife, and I could really appreciate the build quality. But I didn't keep it, nor buy another CRK. I couldn't get over the chalky texture that felt like it was leaving something on my hands, and with my little girly hands and soft thumb, I couldn't open it easily with one hand. The thumb stud was too sharp and the detent was too strong. So I passed it on to a collector who was overjoyed to have it.
Hey nick, thought I should point out the part of the trees without the anodization is actually intentional and supposed to show the light coming off the moon

Hey Nick, I don't own a knife with titanium scales, I like the zt 0562, should I pull the trigger on the 20 dollar upgrade or just get the carbon fiber, I was hoping to see some hinderer knives like the Jurassic slicer back in stock.... but the zt should work in the meantime
Nick, just started watching your reviews, took your advice and picked up the Ferrum Forge Stinger, good call. Also got the small Sebenza 31 with the Chain mail, sort of against your recommendation but I wanted it. Both came the same day and I had a bit of a Timex conundrum. The Ferrum, for the price, is a great knife, like a Timex. The Sebenza is a solid knife, but is it worth the price, kind of like a Rolex, one doesn't do any more than the other. Truth be told the Ferrum was sharper out of the box and I had to knock the top off the thumb stud on the Sebenza and work the action to get it smooth. Not sure I would get a second one. Keep up the great work.
That’s awesome!!! Beautiful piece! You should get more knives for you and not just for channel! Great content btw! Huge fan and i started going back to watches because of you ... so thanks for that! Haha
That sebenza goes so well with your custom bugout. Both are beautiful. I wish someone would make scales that are all out, excessive, and gorgeous for the waypoint.
I like watching your channel and I have grown to like Spyderco knives and I still think most of them are still ugly. The Para 3 is one of my favorites. I have 14 Spyderco, 9 Benchmade, 3 ZT, 5 Bikers, 30 Kershaw, 2 Civivi, 1 SJRB, 18 Cases, 6 CRKT, and a total of 86 knives. But no CR Sebenza's and probably won't ever have one over $200 for a knife is above my limits and the mountains and stars kindof look corny to me. I do like listening to your comments and you know your knives and I like that. Thank you James A.
Chris Reeve Knives is a perfect example of good business practice. Some complain that he doesn't compete in today's market because you can get more for your money. I would argue that even though fancier knives do exist, the time he spends nailing down the design creates a timeless piece. From the handle shape to the blade grind, the Sebenza is a very functional work of art. Instead of dropping a new knife then forgetting about it so he can come out with another, Chris refines his designs over time and makes a smaller variety with each design being well conceived and purposeful. This does a few things: It brings us a mechanically reliable knife and it keeps his products serviceable while keeping his overhead down. This also keeps his brand highly reputable and desirable. Broke a blade on your 20 year old Sebenza? No problem, he has a replacement since he hasn't had to redesign it. He got it right the first time and hasn't dropped the Sebenza for a different model. I wish more companies would follow that MO. The most reliable cars are the models that have been out the longest, for example. Unfortunately, we seem to demand the new sexy thing. I want refined and proven more than I want new and fashionable, leaving space for advancement of course. Nick, the custom grinding on that Sebenza is beautiful.
I pulled the trigger on a large 21 from Amazon spur of the moment after drooling over them for years. There is only one dealer that’s sells CR on Amazon so you know who sold it to me. I digress, lol, it turned out it was made on my 50th birthday and is now my most prized possession !
Lots of examples of Night Sky have the moonlight reflection on the trees, nice knife. My passion is Martin Guitars, I mean do I really need more than one. lol
Inkosi with micarta inlays and insingo blade and I too have both Sebenza sizes with inlays!! Same knife but Inkosi is stronger built and better ergos!!
I really like when the EDC Multiverse enables great gear swaps and deals like the Omega/CRK sharing between such awesome people/reviewers like you two gents 😀
The small, plain sebenza really is my favorite edc knife.. the short story goes as such.. my first was a small micarta insingo.. it was great but I just wasn’t really feeling the blade shape. I bought it because it was the only one available locally. I also order a sanrenmu 7010 at the same time to compare. I ultimately decided to sell the crk but my girlfriend at the time actually threw it out on me before I could complete the sale. Insingo gone. However, I still had the sanrenmu and absolutely loved it! I carried it for the next 6 years despite having a pile of “better” knives handy. The sanrenmu was just about perfect. So years later, relatively recently, I found a new small plain 31 with the drop point locally and snatched it up. Zero regrets! It’s just the knife I always wanted and I look forward to years of it in my pocket. I’d wanted a plain drop point for the get go.. but I decided to try the insingo and I thought of the inlays as a consolation prize of sorts. Great knife but it just wasn’t the one that spoke to me.. although I still like to think that it’ll turn up some day. Maybe when I’m moving or something.
Good video. Do NOT go down the Rockstead knife rabbit hole. And good luck with warranty/sharpening returning to them. The knives are grails but get ready for a roller coaster ride.
I said Never Again before I bought my night sky Sebenza. I said it again before I bought the morning sky version. Now I just shut up and submit to my lack of self control.
I'm pretty new to this hobby, but a left handed version of that would be pretty close to my grail knife. I love mountain scenes, and the extra details are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
I would like to purchase that terrain 365 invictus from you good sir. I'm sure it's already spoken for but if not please let me know 👍 Also love your reviews, keep em coming!🍻
To kind of add to what your saying- maybe the problem is we know they are capable of the things we love and want (fidgety), but they refuse to take the risk and make something. Keep selling the usual knives but also make some new stuff. I feel like Chris reeve left the company with the tilock as a statement his company hasn’t picked up on.
You pulled Slicey in and in turn he pulled me back in. Just hit #20 today. Thanks a heap. Just kidding. Went from knives to watches. Needed a break, just too much stuff coming out too quickly. Collectors overload. Just saying thank you, it is bringing me much joy. 2 great hobbies you can enjoy and use on a daily basis. Doesn’t get any better. Come to think of it your the culprit that pulled me deep into knife collecting in the first place. Thanks again. Now you have proof that you affect people globally. Keep it coming but please don’t come up with anymore hobbies, my bank account can’t take it. Enjoy the CRK.
Just started the video and I'm guessing the answer to your title is: you don't need another one because they last forever, but you got another one because the quality is so good that you had to have more.
Very nice custom-like scene. I never cared for that crude ancient Egyptian knife you had that you seemed to love. This one is kinda cool and the moon is what sells it. Congrats!
Same reason I have 4 different versions of the Koenig Arius. It's one of the only knife models that I consistently get excited about. Those of us that have been buying, selling, and trading for years understand how easy it is to become jaded in this hobby. I'll spend $1000 on a new knife and have the excitement wear off by the time I get it out of the box. I've learned to stop chasing the next new thing (for the most part) and focus on the designs and models that have proven themselves (to me at least).
I have the new sebenza 31 with ebony inlays and I have to say it's the nicest knife I've ever handled. I'm not a richy boy so it went into the safe where it can dream of being used. If I ever get something better I'll use it. Until then I'll use my benchmade and spyderco knives
Oddly enough my first grail was a terminator praetorian genesis t, I absolutely love it, and of all the knives I’ve owned it has the sharpest edge out of the box. With a couple passes on a strop it can cut space and time.
I was mesmerized by that knife. I love CR knives. Do I want that knife? What do you think? Will I get that knife? Only if the price is right. Throw in a little Bob Barker there. No I don’t have the kind of money it would take to get that Sebenza. Plus I like the bed I sleep in. You figure it out from there. Thanks for letting us have a glimpse of “it’s a beautiful thing”.
I went from saying "I'll never spend that much on a knife" to snagged the first Large Sebenza 31 I could find - and oh, by the way, I would have thrown ANOTHER $600, no questions asked, at a Morning Sun Sebenza if I found it right next to the Massacar Ebony one I purchased. I have quite literally committed to the idea that AS SOON AS I see a Morning Sun large sebenza available, I am picking it up without hesitation. CRK is just doing this amazing thing that is so intangible to most people. It transcends most peoples' logic.
I own a few Sebenzas. And I still don't get it. I try to love them, but I just can't. I commend CRK for making dedicated left-hand models. I appreciate the precision, the design, and (mostly) the execution. I just don't find them that ergonomic or fun to use. And one of mine came with a very sticky lockbar. And a $400 knife with lock stick should have never left the factory.
I have had 8 CRK's come thru my collection but only 1 has remained, my Nyala FE. As much as I've tried enjoying their folders they just don't give me the joy other more modern folding knives do. I want my experience using a blade to be effortless. To feel like the blade is an extension of my hand. Other makers have evolved and filled that need while CRK is stuck in the solid construction phase of the knife industry's resurgence.
Mine is 100% the Spyderco Subvert. That knife is so incredibly huge, has a gaudy orange scale, and a blade shape that I find reminiscent of a cancerous kidney... And yet I love it perhaps most in my collection because it stands in for a full custom from Black Snow that is truly outrageous.
There are so many good knives out there at the same price point as the Sabenza that you could get more knife for the cost. That being said, I will be buying a Sabenza soon.
I’d have to agree with slice on this one, kris reeves knives make me feel like If I carry it I’m gonna scratch up the blade which with a knife that expensive is basically a moral sin
You and I have very different tastes... most of the time. But that might just be the best looking knife I've ever seen. I wish I had the kind of money that would put that in my pocket!
I'm pretty sure the "mistake" of the hand anodizing on the tree is supposed to be the moonlight reflecting on it, but I could be completely wrong
You're most likely right. It's on both trees and the hill right underneath he moon as well
Artistic license.
It's moon light, look at the gold "refection" around the moon.
Oh, fancy.
100% thats what it is. no way they would look over that if it was a mistake lol
If we just go by "need", we would all have one $40 knife!
There's some decent rough rider knives for 9.99 + that cut and are fun. Bbbut I edc a civivi elementum and would like a tear drop Damascus chris reeves, my stimulus check just won't cover it.
90% of the knives I own I will likely never carry. I just like their design and look.
yea or the ka-bar dozer for 20$
Ontario rat or rat 2 would serve pretty much everyone. Also Kershaw blur

I love his work, have you ever been to his museum? It's amazing
I think the same of Fallkniven
Great video. Thank you.
any thoughts on the 'lock-rock' issue some people have with the 31?
None of it here.
My passion is Martin Guitars, I mean do I really need more than one. lol
I definitely need a Chris Reeve knife but I can't decide exactly which type (between the sebenza, incosi, ec.)
(Suggestions please)
Inkosi with micarta inlays and insingo blade and I too have both Sebenza sizes with inlays!!
Same knife but Inkosi is stronger built and better ergos!!
@@Brad-vs1lk thank you!
That's a gorgeous knife. I'm glad you got that for yourself.
Your girlfriend did WHAT?! Tell me that’s why you aren’t together anymore 😂
One day I'll be able to afford a sebenza. For now i just watch videos about them from my favorite content creators. Thanks for sharing
They make left handed Sebenzas. Not sure about unique graphics in left hand
I would like to purchase that terrain 365 invictus from you good sir. I'm sure it's already spoken for but if not please let me know 👍 Also love your reviews, keep em coming!🍻
I appreciate that, but all sales go to my Patreon patrons first.
Nick I love you for that link to the past reference
Congratulations. I saw that for sale by Slicey Dicey, but didn't have the funds.
+10000 reviewer points for the A Link to the Past joke
Yes I never understood sebenzas until I got my first one a month ago. Some next level knives .
The Dark knight needs a Dark sky.
What a beautiful knife. A Sebenza is very much in my future.
Surprised you didn't go for the lunar landing sebenza. I still believe that is the most beautiful sebenza to me.
That might be the ugliest knife I have ever seen, and yet I would totally own one
Nice snag buddy!
Don’t forget your video on the plastic sebenza!
There are so many good knives out there at the same price point as the Sabenza that you could get more knife for the cost.
That being said, I will be buying a Sabenza soon.
This is the only Sebenza I want. I have a couple WC CRK but love the doppler 21.
I’d have to agree with slice on this one, kris reeves knives make me feel like If I carry it I’m gonna scratch up the blade which with a knife that expensive is basically a moral sin
I just experienced the sebenza 31...I’m sold!
You can never go wrong with a Chris Reeve knife no matter what style it is.
You and I have very different tastes... most of the time. But that might just be the best looking knife I've ever seen. I wish I had the kind of money that would put that in my pocket!
