robert de niro is a cliched actor ... barring his initial performances, he goes through all his later movies with the same expressions (as if he were a mafioso), dialogue delivery, movements etc ... he would have ruined this movie

They dodged a bullet in not casting DeZero …he would have changed what has become my absolute favorite movie. So many great scenes and classic performances by everyone. None better than the Pesci/Tomei relationship. Don’t get me wrong…. with DeZero, it would have still been a clever movie and worthy of watching but not the iconic classic that gets watched over and over again
