Nice to know even wrestling has "forms" to help truly internalize the combative techniques.
@@Logan-zv4xg Little known fact about forms/kata in kung fu and other martial arts systems are that they were constructed in part to be a way to shadow box or shadow wrestle.
They serve the purpose of being a catalog of techniques, yes, and are even a way to demonstrate your art, but forms are a way internalize the proper way to move your body for combat... So long as you have the right context for each technique present in the form.
For instance, a technique that can be found in Tai Chi is a golf swing tackdown commonly found in catch wrestling.
So when I say shadow wrestling is a "form", I am by no means naive to the fact that it isn't what most consider a form- empty dance that is for performance. I mean to put it in the proper context: a means to practice your technique in a solo setting.
That is my meaning.
Sir please upload double Leg attack please
Thank🙏❤❤❤❤❤ you sir ji radhe krishna ji Gord🙏 bless you

Hi guys I’m a guy who doesn’t have a wrestling gym near me but I am interested in it although I know very little about it for starters i am orthodox but for wrestling should I stand orthodox or southpaw a reply would be much appreciated thank you 💪🏻💪🏻
Interesting
How to have strong legs any tips from u guys
How often do you practice shadow wrestling, and would you say it is the one of the driving factors of your success?
जय हो
جيد جدآ في غاية الروعة
I try to be like Louden Swain in Vision Quest when he shadow wrestled before his match against Brian Shute.
Hi! In the next period my son will start wrestling and I would like to ask you, since you have so much experience, what would be the 3 main things that make the difference between a good young athlete and an average one and what should we focus on at the beginning, more in order to create a solid base? Thanks a lot!
Assuming he is at least 12, 13 or 14.
1. He should be completely self-motivated and love it more than anything because it will get very hard and that's the only way he will see it through.
2. He should always be asking questions and learning from everyone seeking out the best available training partners and coaches.
3. He should train and compete year round and aim for 100 off-season matches in freestyle and Greco-Roman.
@@KOLATCOM Sorry I forgot to mention the age. He's seven. At this age, apart from focusing on getting him to like training, what should we focus on to form a solid foundation? Thank you very much!
Молодец это база борьбы
Очень верно!
@bearboy01 I guess so when you train with Olympians while you're in high school.
Cary kolat lowkey iphone x
This works for jiujitsu
is there a possibility of muscle imbalances only shooting with the right leg?
Doubt it. But still a good idea to drill both sides.
🙏🏼
Thanks for viewing!
@@KOLATCOM thank you sir !
How many single leg techniques does this guy have, he has hundreds. Do you have a step by step video?
You can access our entire wrestling library at kolat.com where all videos are organized within our progressive learning system.
Guruji
Something interestong I've recently learned: karate kata are "shadow wrestling." At least that's what they were supposed to be when karate was designed for self defense rather than what modern sport karate has become
Great knowledge.
👌👌👌👍👍👍
why does my bakc get tired while wrestling or mma sparring
I have done bjj science I was 6 and I’m now 12 and wanted to start wrestling
Do it. It's great to have wrestling under you belt you won't regret it 💪🏽
Why cross your feet when moving forward? Why not stay in a staggered stance, like a boxer?
Because this is not boxing and you have to change levels and penetrate when attacking the legs. Also, crossing only applies to lateral movement. There are no crossing off legs at all in wrestling. The penetration step is not crossing legs it is just stepping while moving forward with power for the attack.
@@KOLATCOM got you. That makes sense. Also, is it illegal to move backwards in wrestling? If you could move backwards and make your opponent step forward, you could trap them and shoot between their forward steps, while they are on one leg. If that makes sense.
Or just by deceiving the distance and making them step a leg into range
How to safely land your feet when you take down all the wrestling + all the judo + all the freehand wrestling take-downs, all the guards of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, all the guards of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the submission of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu How to get rid of all guards, all submissions of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, all the sub-missions of Brasilian Jiu-Jitsu, and how to escape all of them, upload a UA-cam video and make a playlist and let me know. Please make it for what you want to do, not for request, viewing.
So it's mainly about legs
50/50
Who are the 29 dorks that have downvoted this video?
Why does he comb his hair when he shoots?
It's part of the motion for high crotch leg attack.
@@KOLATCOM thanks!
Im a new coach, im wondering why he would want a wrestler to move around the whole room when shadow wrestling. My problem with my kids when shadow wrestling is there doing too much walking and not enough working. I would think if you would stay in a tight circle like he demonstrated at the end that would be more rewarding for the wrestler, and also teach them to stay in the center of the mat instead of going outside and having to worry about getting hit with stalling or taking your opponent out of bounds when finishing the shot. which is a waste of time and energy. I think this is an amazing video and i like everything hes showing i just don't understand how moving around would be helpful. Can anybody explain please?
Jeff work rate is on the wrestlers tell them to work while they are walking so it's a 50/50 balance or 60/40 up to how you want to coach them
Kolat is a beast ..... But I would give him a run for his money
You know he's a 2 time wrestling champ 🏆😂 he would cook you Mr.cook 💯
Bro got the elite chess genetics
Wrestling does have a lot of similarities with chess strategy.
