You are great at giving the steps to take this fan apart! Usually, this kind of video can overwhelm me and send me searching for a better one. This one is very easy to watch and learn from. Thanks for sharing!
Three more Wind Machine fans saved from going in the dumpster thanks to this video. I didn't even think they came apart but watching this video made me realize it was (pretty) easy! The dirt was horrifying!! The house is so much cleaner now and I didn't have to buy new fans. Thank you for teaching all of us!!
I really love how you explain step-by-step on the disassembling of the Wind machine fan cleaning and then the step-by-step instructions on how to oil it and put it back together. thank you so much for your professionalism.
Thank you! Great vid. My suggestion is to use you cell phone to take pictures along the way as you disassemble. Refer back as (if) needed during reassembly, then delete photos. Some of us need help with remembering the process!
This is SUCH a nice fan and I seriously miss how it ran when new. This video was a life and money saver, so I thank you!! Btw, They are BOGUS for not including the instructions on how to do this, or at LEAST how to open the dang thing!
Second time I have used your tutorial - so glad you made it. Writing this comment as I sit in front of my freshly cleaned Wind Machine that is once again living up to it's name.
Was worried because the one I've had for a long time was so dusty on the inside that I thought I'd have to throw it out. It's cleaned and oiled now, and I get to save a little money. THANK YOU!!
I was about to toss my Lasko Wind Machine because of years of dirt and dust buildup, and no way to clean it...till I found your video. Took about 3.5 hours of focused work (it had 5+ years of dog and cat hair) and now its sparkling clean and good as new. THANK YOU!!!! I really cant tell you how much I appreciate this :)
This is the most informative video in detail on how to take this fan apart and put it back together. Thank you so much for taking the time to put out a video, in detail. Thank you thank you
Been bursting my head to figure out how to remove the blade without breaking anything in order to lubricate and I only had to pull up. Thanks, man. There goes your like and I subscribed.
*Love the size and it fits perfectly in a corner but **Fastly.Cool** the whole room. Really like how you can auto adjust how long you want the fan to be on. It is quite but highly effective.*
Mad props dude, I took apart a fan like this one to clean it for my parents and I couldn’t figure how to get the motor back in- I had the right idea of getting the feet through but just didn’t see where they were supposed to be. Aside from that minor annoyance I knew how to put the rest of the fan back together but I was sitting there on the floor for a good 20 minutes trying to solve some kind of new age puzzle. So grateful for your video even if I didn’t need the whole thing, and I like how simply you explained it. Made me feel like I’m a new employee in a fan factory and you’re the guy that trains now hires. I even thought “this should be simple” and I was about to go take an angry nap to think it through before I found this and it calmed me down. Thanks again man 👍
Thank God someone has a decent video on this because, mine was horrible and now I just need to make a trip to the hardware for a longer reaching Phillips!
This is a good instruction video for cleaning this particular fan but if I may add a little side note if you do not have canned air or any kind of like air compressor to blow out the dust try like a toothbrush to scrub around the crevices of the fan get the dirt out then just use a vacuum hose preferably a vacuum with good strong suction power and it will suck that dirt right out of the way just my little added advice thanks for the video man 👍
Thank you so very much. I am 72 yrs old. Your step by step directions were easy to follow. I was able to clean mine and it truly looks brand new. (I did it all by myself too) 🥰
Since purchasing it, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQuBMI30VhO6fDed6NOsYftsoNa8x0UZ5 this fan is a trustworthy companion during the hot nights in Texas for me. The sleep mode is really quiet and gives you smooth wind to cool down. At full speed the fan is quite noisy but also very strong.Only weird thing is that if there is a draught from another fan, the sleep mode would speed up occasionally (getting a bit louder, probably to level 2 out of 4). This never happened so far when I used only this fan though.
I cannot thank you enough! I just couldn’t get the the fan to come apart. No matter how hard I tried and it was because of the darn handle screw!! 4 years of headaches. I stumbled upon your video as I complained to my friend of how dirty my fan was and how I hate the cleaning process. Which was just vacuuming it and literally scrubbing every ridge with a knife and a rag. 2 seconds before putting my working fan into the garbage I decided to look up if anyone had posted some help. You are a life savor. By reading your comments I am glad I wasn’t alone.
Hello, PeanutButterMan! This is the best video I have ever seen on Disassembly of a Fan Cleaning and Reassembly, You have My Gratitude out in sunny California. and My Subscription for a job well done No excess talking no jittery camera work and no Crappie music! just an excellent Video. I have this fan in my garage uncleaned because I didn't want to try to figure out how to take apart. Now you have inspired me to do it! Thank you So much.
Just got done cleaning all three fans. YES, I DID IT ALL BY MYSELF! My Dad was very handy and could fix anything. My brother got his ability to fix things, not me. I have been getting better at this, due to UA-cam videos like your's. I have owned these fans for years. I have always blown them off with a leaf blower and then wiped them off with soap and water. Now they are as clean as brand new. Thank you again! 😎
Thank you for your step by step instructions on cleaning the fan. My AC went out and I borrowed my neighbors WindMachine that they normally have on the porch at the lake and I wanted to clean it after I got through using it to show my appreciation. Thanks to you it was easy.
The switch on my Wind Machine became dislodged and I feared it would take hours to repair it. Thanks to your clear and mythodical instructions I was able to fixit in less than 2 minutes! Thanks for your help.
Thanks it’s very useful. I clean them out at the end of summer before putting them away. I always hated cleaning them because I didn’t know if the motor and fans were removable without damage. Having to clean the fan with the motor on is a hassle. But this will be helpful. Like a lot!
@PeanutButterMan I highly RoccoMend this video. By following your perfectly made video I was able to disassemble, clean, and reassemble my Lasko Wind Machine. wow thanks brotha...just went online to see if anybody posted a video like this then bam... right here. very easy after your instructions....thanks brotha
Thank you for this good video! And I did it up to the motor which I didn't remove. Really a lot of pet hair and thanks also that Lasko has made it simple too. We are seniors and this was a big help!😄
Great video instructions. I just got this wind machine willed to me by someone who never cleaned it and I mean never, so you can only imagine the job ahead of me and this vid is priceless ,, thanks.
THANK YOU!!! I live in South Georgia, so trying to keep cool is a major part of my life. Put I absolutely cannot STAND a filthy fan. There may be some OCD going on here. 😁. You made this SO EASY!! Thank you again!!
man you saved my life I have a fan just like that all I did was take the cover off on a front and try to clean it around it because I didn't know how to take the motor out while you saved my life
Hey, thanks! Really good disassembly/assembly video. Greatly appreciated. Now I can take apart and paint the ugly sucker with some plastic friendly spray paint.
Thank you so much for your time, the video is very detailed and the instructions are super easy to follow, again much thanks, you just made my life easier, by the way your voice is super calming
You are welcome.. Thanks for your reply and for the "super calming voice" ammunition.. I'll keep that in reserve as it will surely be useful in my next tone of voice defense..
This was a huge help to my understanding of how to disassemble. I still needed help pulling apart some of the stubborn pieces though. I appreciated all the tips along the way, too, like the lubrication of the stem.
Thank you very much for the explanation in special how to getting the blade off in this video. It was so useful and now I have my fan like new and so clean
My fan doesn’t have screws. But I watched till the end to see if we got another pec shot. I’ll have to figure out how to unsnap my lasko. Thanks for the video! Edit: the thing has two screws that I finally found. Now the task of cleaning.
Great video. Thank you for posting. BTW, I just cleaned 1 of my Lasko fans... I have 3 more to go. They're a bit of a pain, but this video really helped.
Excellent video. You left nothing to the imagination. Thank you. I think my fan needs a new capacitor, after disassembling and cleaning it is still dead. But now I know for sure. Thanks again.
Thank you for this video! I’ve had my fan for 4 years so it had 4 years worth of dirt, dust, and debris and now it looks brand new and operating like new again!
I had soooo much dust and hair INSIDE the actual motor. I had to take the motor apart to get it out. However I couldn’t figure out how to get the blades off lol. So I unscrewed every screw through that little hole instead of just popping it off like you showed. Plus mine wouldn’t pop off easily because it had hair twisted and built up at the base of it🤦🏻♀️ it was a struggle but now it’s cleaned!
Great tutorial on cleaning this fan. Short but thorough. Mine isn't too dirty yet, but I was trying to clean a Lasko tower fan. The tower fan video by Lasko is useless. The tower fan is not supposed to be taken apart and they made it very difficult. I like the Wind Machine better anyway. By the way, a comment on the tower fan said to use a leaf blower to clean it. I'm gonna try that and while I'm at it, I'll probably try the leaf blower on the WInd Machine also. I know after a few cleanings like that, I should probably follow your video to clean around the motor and to oil it. Still this was a great video, and I will follow it once the fan is really dirty or after a longer period.
Fantastic video! Thank you so much! Simple step by step instructions with good advice. I started a video before this one on how to clean this fan and within just a few seconds the housing was already off without showing how he took it apart which was exactly what I needed to know! Didn't see another second of that video. Liked and subscribed. Thank you again!👍🏼
Thank You! My favorite fans.. very strong air flow. I found one on the street. the screen part covered in thick dust and lint and a little dirty all over. Watched your video and cleaned the whole thing and looks and works like new now! I guess they were too lazy to clean it. lol
Thanks you helped me start! But had to unscrew and clean the motor too because there was a piece of cloth stuck behind the thing that turns. At first i could not turn it but after i cleaned it. It turned so easy. Thanks
I just finished disassembling the fan and cleaning it up, just waiting for the plastic parts to dry. The motor was clogged with dust and I have it set off to the side. Thanks for the video.
I am So Happy That You Posted This. Now I Know How to Take the Motor Off So I won't get it wet. I Feel Very Confident that I Can do this now. Thank You So Very Much
Thanks for the tips. Wasn't sure about how to remove the switch and you helped greatly. I have several animals and my fan attracts hair like crazy, so being able to fully disassemble the fan and pressure wash it helps a lot. Thanks again man

No, they expect you to just buy another! Lol

For the most part, everything went smoothly. The only area where I struggled was that clip piece below the knob.

Thank you for this video! I’ve had my fan for 4 years so it had 4 years worth of dirt, dust, and debris and now it looks brand new and operating like new again!
You are welcome.. Thanks for reply..
Your video is great...to the point and step-by-step clear instructions . Thanks to you, I saved $40!
This video was awesome. I'm not mechanically inclined and your video was so perfect. My fan looks like new again! Thank you!
You are welcome! Thanks for reply!
Amazing. I like how you explain the process. Thank you
You are welcome.. Thanks for reply..
Great video. I wasn't so much interested in cleaning the fan as a detailed examination of the parts and you covered that perfectly.
Glad you enjoyed it.. Thanks for reply..
Thanks! Great video. I had some trouble getting the blade off, like some others, but it finally came off. Now I have a nice clean fan. 😁
Glad to help.. Thanks for reply..
Thankyou for this video! Mine stopped working a few days ago and living in PHX, it's a necessity to have your fan along with AC lol
You are welcome.. Thanks for reply..
You are welcome.. Thanks for sub..
@@tongo117 Just showed my wife and she was impressed! Plugged it in and it's running like a champ in what used to be a hot kitchen! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank You! My favorite fans.. very strong air flow. I found one on the street. the screen part covered in thick dust and lint and a little dirty all over. Watched your video and cleaned the whole thing and looks and works like new now! I guess they were too lazy to clean it. lol
Glad the video was helpful.. Thanks for reply..
Thank you sir, you really made my day. And yes you really have to pull hard to get that blade off....greetings from Culiacán Sinaloa, Mexico....
Glad to help.. Thanks for reply..
Thank you for this!!! Got my fan sparkly clean (cat hair everywhere) and the fan blows stronger than ever!! Thank you, Thank you!!

I usually use Zoom Spout oil myself, it's also made for electric motors. 3-in-1 in the blue can also works.
Good video.
3 in 1 for electric motors worked for me...thanks for the video...fan is now like new.
One of the best "how-to" videos I've ever watched. Just subscribed to your channel. Hope you have more good vids like this one!
Thanks you helped me start! But had to unscrew and clean the motor too because there was a piece of cloth stuck behind the thing that turns. At first i could not turn it but after i cleaned it. It turned so easy. Thanks
Thanks for the video, I hope doing this will fix the issue with the fan losing power
I just finished disassembling the fan and cleaning it up, just waiting for the plastic parts to dry. The motor was clogged with dust and I have it set off to the side. Thanks for the video.
Unfortunately the motor seized up, couldn't get a replacement and had to buy a new fan
thank you for the great, easy-to-follow video. I couldn't figure out how to get the fan blade off - but you showed you just pull! Thanks again!
Glad to have helped..
I am So Happy That You Posted This. Now I Know How to Take the Motor Off So I won't get it wet. I Feel Very Confident that I Can do this now. Thank You So Very Much
You are welcome.. Thanks for reply..
Thanks for the tips. Wasn't sure about how to remove the switch and you helped greatly. I have several animals and my fan attracts hair like crazy, so being able to fully disassemble the fan and pressure wash it helps a lot. Thanks again man
